[Bug 1699374] Re: connection refused due to pcap error?

2017-06-20 Thread Emil Mikulic
Sorry about the documentation. I can't change what's in that magazine.
:)

The cfg file is specific to the distro and applies to systemd(?)
starting darkstat at boot time, it's not a standard part of darkstat /
not something it reads at startup.

i.e. Either "service start darkstat" or whatever the Ubuntu equivalent
is, or add "-p 666" to the sudo cmdline you run.

[Bug 1699396] [NEW] sha256sum mismatch in cloud images

2017-06-20 Thread Donald Eugene Kutach
Public bug reported:

6/20 Build

http://cloud-images.ubuntu.com/xenial/current/xenial-server-cloudimg-
amd64-root.tar.gz

We have an automated process which downloads images. First the sha256sum
check passed but we saw unexpected EOF errors when trying to untar the
file. Later we were able to download and untar the file but the
sha256sum does not match.

>From the sha256sums file.

Output in terminal

I suspect the file may have been replaced but the sha256sum value not
updated?

This fail on all of our build systems and the automated process has been
in place for months.

[Bug 1633690] Re: byt-max98090 not working on linux-image-4.8.0-22-generic on baytrail hardware

2017-06-20 Thread Terence
I installed the latest elementary OS Loki 0.4.1 (based on Ubuntu) onto
an Acer C730 (GNAWTY) chromebook with FULL firmware from MrChromebox.
It is also impacted by this issue since the kernel is linux-image-4.8.0
-5x-generic.

Falling back to the previous 4.4 kernel does fix the issue. And I have
to hold the kernel update until this is fixed.

Re: [Bug 1699374] Re: connection refused due to pcap error?

2017-06-20 Thread Gareth Evans
Thank you, it's working on :667

https://unix4lyfe.org/darkstat/linuxformat.jpg
says :666 though

There are rather deep references in man darkstat to 667 but I hadn't
looked because

/etc/darkstat/init.cfg says
PORT="-p 666"

...which seems to be ignored.

Oh well, thanks again.

[Bug 1689963] Re: [MIR] open-isns

2017-06-20 Thread Christian Seiler
Hi,

I'm one of the Debian Maintainers of open-isns and I just saw this bug
here because I saw the upstream pull request for the fixes to the test
suite. First of all: thanks for improving the package. The main reason
I've packaged that is because it was split out of open-iscsi, and I'm
not really a user of iSNS itself.

I would like to keep any diff between Debian and Ubuntu to a minimum -
ideally there'd be no diff at all. I'd also be happy to include any
Ubuntu-specific changes in the upstream Debian package. The upstream
test suite you've added to DEP-8 appears to be something that would also
be useful to run in Debian. If it's OK with you I'd like to review the
changes you made in this regard and include them in the Debian package
itself.

Apart from that: a short comment on what you wrote in the "Quality
Assurance" part of this report:

> * No debconf questions are asked during installation.

This is not entirely true: no debconf questions are asked when
installing the library packages themselves in the current Debian
package, but because how the software works, the discovery daemon (pkg
:open-isns-discoveryd) and the server itself (pkg:open-isns-server) will
indeed ask debconf questions on installation and removal. That said: if
you have any ideas how to handle that without debconf questions, I'd be
open to hearing that. (In Debian we're now at the beginning of the next
release cycle, so it'd be no problem at all to change the behavior.)

Regards,
Christian

[Bug 1696599] Re: backport/sync UEFI, Secure Boot support

2017-06-20 Thread Chris Halse Rogers
Hello Mathieu, or anyone else affected,

Accepted grub2-signed into xenial-proposed. The package will build now
and be available at
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2-signed/1.66.12 in a few
hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed.Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag
from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the
bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to
verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help
us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance!

** Changed in: grub2-signed (Ubuntu Xenial)

Same on Debian 9 with latest updates.

Not sure if this is actually a darkstat bug - apologies if not but I
can't see what's wrong otherwise.

to enable and use -proposed.Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

Public bug reported:

System just hung for hours (10) trying to install the package as
specified in the summary box. I tried to do this install via the Ubuntu
Software app (not via apt-get). The graph showing how far the install
went stopped moving when it got to the first 'l' in "Installing." This
has happened previously. Canceling and rebooting and then recoing the
package install doesn't seem to help.

2017-06-20 Thread Chris Halse Rogers
Hello Mathieu, or anyone else affected,

Accepted grub2 into xenial-proposed. The package will build now and be
available at
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/2.02~beta2-36ubuntu3.12 in a
few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

In either case, details of your testing will help
us make a better decision.

remove "nvme_core.default_ps_max_latency_us=0" but keep
"nvme_core.dyndbg=+p", then do the grep again?

[Bug 1699380] [NEW] Bug in VMWare Virtual Machine

2017-06-20 Thread Anthony
Public bug reported:

I am using the "Hacking-the Art of Exploitation 2nd Edition" LiveCD and I
constantly get a bug saying
[32.686993] <0> Kernel Panic - not syncing: Fatal exception in interrupt
I am constantly rebooting and nothing fixes it. I don't know what to do. I
tried a fix that I read from elsewhere saying to go to this link:
https://www.nostarch.com/hackingCD
and create file named livecd.vmx with contents from some code which I have
previously seen but has apparently been removed from the website. I am also
trying to install the torrent contained in the website at the moment and
attempt to boot that torrent using VMWare to hopefully fix it. I am only
beginning my programming hobby so I am not extremely computer savvy. Thank you
in advance.

[Bug 1699374] [NEW] connection refused due to pcap error?

2017-06-20 Thread Gareth Evans
Public bug reported:

localhost:666 connection refused despite port 666 open.

sudo darkstat -i --debug results in error message:

16527: error: pcap_open_live(): --debug:
SIOCETHTOOL(ETHTOOL_GET_TS_INFO) ioctl failed: No such device

Not sure if this is in any way related:
