The other 2 commands run successfully by themselves.
sudo apt autoremove doesn't run, it tells me to run apt --fix-broken install

Did a bit of googling and found
sudo apt autoremove -f

which ran to completion.

Cheers,
Josh

-

  Original description

I'm working on the nova-powervm driver for Mitaka and trying to add
  support for evacuation.

The problem I'm hitting is that instance.host is not updated when the
compute driver is called to spawn the instance on the destination host.
It is still set to the source host. It's not until after the spawn
completes that the compute manager updates instance.host to reflect the
  destination host.

The nova-powervm driver uses instance events callback mechanism during
plug VIF to determine when Neutron has finished provisioning the
network. The instance events code sends the event to instance.host and
hence is sending the event to the source host (which is down). This
causes the spawn to fail and also causes weirdness when the source host
gets the events when it's powered back up.

To temporarily work around the problem, I hacked in setting
  instance.host = CONF.host; instance.save() in the compute driver but
  that's not a good solution.

[Bug 1705953] Re: Show only snaps in "Editor's Picks"

2017-08-17 Thread Robert Ancell
** Description changed:

  [Impact]
- The "Editor's Picks" section currently contains a mix of hard-coded values,
values based on Ubuntu reviews and snaps from the "featured" snap store
section. As snaps are the newest and preferred method of installing things in
Ubuntu it should show only these, falling back to the default behaviour if no

values based on Ubuntu reviews and snaps from the "featured" snap store
section. As snaps are the newest and preferred method of installing things in
Ubuntu it should show only these in the order provided by snapd, falling back
to the default behaviour if no snaps are found.

  [Test Case]

  2. Look at "Editor's Picks" section

  Expected result:

correct order.

  Observed result:

hardcoded values from being added.
+ Solution is to add featured snaps last after clearing the existing featured
apps. GNOME Software was modified to not randomize this list. Some risk of
breaking related code.

When you rollback to old kernel, does the touchscreen work? Which
version is it? Do you use DKMS for the touchscreen?

[Bug 1470056] ☢Re: wow that is so excellent!

2017-08-17 Thread Marc
Hi,

Look what I've just found on the web! It's so amazing, check it out
http://iconis.ru/forth_n.php?9e9f

Yours faithfully, Krystal Paige

From: Bug 1470056 [mailto:1470...@bugs.launchpad.net]
Sent: Thursday, August 17, 2017 9:45 PM
To: m.teyss...@thecodingmachine.com
Subject: It is.

Rifle: All-American (if uniques are allowed). Scoped and very
accurate, but has a high rate of fire and magazine capacity, making
it reasonable if something manages to sneak up on me. 5.56mm ammo is
absolutely everywhere, so I should be able to pick up enough to keep
going.

Pistol: A Light Shining In Darkness. If I'm in a position where I reach
for a pistol I need to put out a lot of hurt very quickly. .45 is
also fairly light and inexpensive, and sold at most vendors. I'll
have to buy/craft all my ammo, but for a secondary that's okay.

Melee: Chances knife. Something small and light that can be used for
more than just killing.

Armor: Desert ranger combat armor, park ranger hat and authority
glasses. Something to keep the sun and dust (bullets too) off me.

Support for on-demand installation was recently improved. If you
trigger a restore or backup before going to the settings Overview page,
we'll prompt to install the packages before you can continue.

[Bug 1711483] [NEW] Crackling sound after resuming from suspend

2017-08-17 Thread indigocat
Public bug reported:

PulseAudio exhibits abnormal behavior after resuming from suspend:
Crackling sound present during HTML5 video playback in browsers (Chromium,
Firefox, Chrome).

I tried adding tsched=0 to load-module module-udev-detect in
/etc/pulse/default.pa, and it didn't work.

I slightly increased fragment number and size in /etc/pulse/daemon.conf,
didn't work either.

Before suspending, multiple sound sources can be handled without problems nor
audible noise.
After suspending machine, sound source is noisy/crackling, as if there were
buffer underruns.

Why we cannot implement some GTK3 version checker for snap apps and

in another case use preinstalled with snapd Adwaita or anything else.

[Bug 1711478] [NEW] [FTBFS] arm does not define __NR_migrate_pages

2017-08-17 Thread Tiago Stürmer Daitx
Public bug reported:

numactl currently FTBFS since arm does not define __NR_migrate_pages.

As described in the Debian bug comments [1] the function should just
return -1 and set errno when __NR_migrate_pages is undefined. This
prevents it from failing the build.

Failure from the buildlog [2]:

libtool: compile: gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -Wall -Wdate-time

[Bug 1305232] Please test proposed package

2017-08-17 Thread Brian Murray
Hello Matthias, or anyone else affected,

Accepted postfix into trusty-proposed. The package will build now and be
available at
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/postfix/2.11.0-1ubuntu1.1 in a few
hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed.Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested and change the tag from
verification-needed-trusty to verification-done-trusty. If it does not
fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the
tag to verification-failed-trusty. In either case, details of your
testing will help us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in

[Bug 1567557] Re: Performance degradation of "zfs clone"

2017-08-17 Thread Brian Murray
Hello Stéphane, or anyone else affected,

Accepted zfs-linux into xenial-proposed. The package will build now and
be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/zfs-
linux/0.6.5.6-0ubuntu18 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed
repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed.Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested and change the tag from
verification-needed-xenial to verification-done-xenial. If it does not
fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the
tag to verification-failed-xenial. In either case, details of your
testing will help us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance!

[Bug 1710548] Re: Nec/Renasas 27xxx2 May also need Quirk in 17.04, no problem in 16.04? Logitech C920 Webcam/Zoneminder/Startech

2017-08-17 Thread Jeffrey Miller
Dear Kai-Heng Feng,

Sure enough you fixed it. No complaints now.

I'd be very curious to look over the source code changes to improve my
linux-fu.

But that's secondary.

For now I hope an administrator can mark up my bug report to ensure that
the changes you have made get propagated.

Thank you very much for taking my bug report seriously.

-Jeff

[Bug 1710513] Re: Wi-fi automatically disconnects

2017-08-17 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your
description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful
to read "How to report bugs effectively"
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures.

You should at least provide informations about the Ubuntu version and
and desktop environment you are using

[Bug 1711474] [NEW] graphical session and network not start up due to root FS being mounted read-only

2017-08-17 Thread Mikhail N
Public bug reported:

Kubuntu 17.10, fresh install
$ systemctl --version
systemd 233

Graphical session (sddm.service), systemd-resolved.service and
NetworkManager.service are not loaded due to system root being mounted
read-only

$ journalctl -b0
авг 18 01:27:45 Kseniya-Desktop kernel: Command line:
BOOT_IMAGE=/@/boot/vmlinuz-4.12.0-11-generic
root=UUID=87e60ca5-1b9f-4790-8b9e-6394b9d0a40e ro rootflags=subvol=@

This is the default kernel command line, ro means that the root filesystem must
be mounted read-only, then fsck is believed to be permormed, after what the FS
must be remounted rw (read-write)
But in my system (Ubuntu 17.10) the /home is mouned rw, but the root is still
ro.

I added to /etc/default/grub:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="rw"

Now my kernel command line is:
авг 18 01:27:45 Kseniya-Desktop kernel: Command line:
BOOT_IMAGE=/@/boot/vmlinuz-4.12.0-11-generic
root=UUID=87e60ca5-1b9f-4790-8b9e-6394b9d0a40e ro rootflags=subvol=@ rw

No the root fs is mounted rw and sddm.service starts the graphical
session automatically.

BUT:
NetworkManager.service is not started automatically and should be started
manually (sudo systemctl start NetworkManager)
Due to network offline, network fileshares are not mounted.

I also noticed that there is no dependency from fsck in -.mount, but
there is in home.mount
