[Bug 1714667] Re: please add old hungarian letters

2017-11-11 Thread kixidevel
The previously attached patches are implements only regular fonts.
Which implementation is useable? In which form (glyphs or font form) required
to develop for other Ubuntu family fonts? (Italic, bold, etc.)

Does cold boot instead of reboot have the same problem?

[Bug 1731334] Re: update-notifier-common upgrade :debconf.py not found

2017-11-11 Thread dino99
I get the same crasher on that fresh artful -> Bionic install. The
apport message is : debconf is unknown, or so, even if debconf package
is installed.

I confirm that the only debconf.py installed is at:
/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/aptdaemon/debconf.py

But aptdaemon is said 'unmaintained' and listed for removal:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-notifier/+bug/1673258

So update-notifier needs to update its path installation asap.

I found out that "Display Mode" in Settings -> Devices -> Displays was set to

Setting it to "Single Display" solves for me the issue of windows appearing on

[Bug 1731724] [NEW] KFileDialog is used for saving files, but the GTK+ dialog should be used

2017-11-11 Thread PJSingh5000

ISSUE:

In KDE applications, such as Kolourpaint, the dialog used to save files
is the KFileDialog.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR:

The GTK+ dialog should be used for saving files.

The GTK+ dialog is used to open files and the dialog to save files
should also be the GTK+ dialog.

[Bug 1677198] Re: OpenVPN not Working in 17.04 via "Import a saved VPN configuration"

2017-11-11 Thread Alex B.
Hello,
I had a problem importing configuration files to create a VPN connection.
Nothing would happen after clicking on "Import from file..".
After countless attempts (and only after turning my 2nd monitor on) I realized
that the "Select file to import" window opens on the 2nd monitor and can't be
moved to the main monitor.
After selecting the file to import and clicking "Open" on the 2nd monitor, the
rest of the procedure to add a VPN worked fine and I was able to set a VPN
connection.
I hope this helps.

PS: The same problem occurs with other applications.
Ex. Trying to open a document in LibreOffice, the window to select the file
opens on the 2nd
monitor.

[Bug 1387908] Re: [udev] FIDO u2f security keys should be supported out of the box

2017-11-11 Thread nicoo
Hi,

Yubico maintains the relevant udev rules (for u2f tokens in general, not
only Yubico-branded ones) in libu2f-host, and I recently started
shipping those in Debian as a separate binary package (libu2f-udev)
rather than having u2f udev rules in our systemd package.

You might want to consider making this package installed by default, as
it seems more up-to-date than the current solution in Ubuntu, and would
let us cooperate (between Debian and Ubuntu, but also with upstream) and
avoid fixing the same problems in many places.

Best,

  nicoo

Hi,

It seems the package `pam-u2f` should be simply removed, as it is
unmaintained and provides the same software as `libpam-u2f` (which is
the correct name, according to the Debian convention).

I had the same error come up. I was installing on a Dell Optiplex
desktop.

I clicked on OK and got a further message "Bootloader install failed" "Sorry,
an error occurred and it was not possible to install the bootloader at the
specified location."
"How would you like to proceed?
() Choose a different device to install the bootloader on:
[gives dropdown with choices of all the devices]
() Continue without a bootloader
() Cancel the installation.

I chose "Choose a" and selected "/dev/sda" from the drop down, which
was the correct device for the drive I was installing onto.

Clicked OK and it just sat there did nothing. [repeated several times
with same result]

I tried other choices and was not able to get the installation to
proceed.

seems that there is a problem with your installation media (CD/DVD).
You can verify the integrity of the Ubuntu ISO files you downloaded by

your installation with new media. In the event that is is not in fact
an error with your installation media please set the bug's status back
to New. Thanks and good luck!

[Bug 1731700] [NEW] Please Enable CONFIG_EARLY_PRINTK_USB_XDBC

2017-11-11 Thread Srinivasa Rao Samineni
Public bug reported:

CONFIG_EARLY_PRINTK_USB_XDBC is currently disabled in the Ubuntu kernel
configs. This would be useful to have enabled for debugging early-boot
problems with a USB 3.0 debugging cable.

[Bug 1731699] [NEW] Unable to transfer files via bluetooth to paired android phone

2017-11-11 Thread Nearly Norman
Public bug reported:

I'm trying to transfer files to my phone (Nexus 6P - Android 8.0) from
Ubuntu 17.10, but when I pair the laptop and phone, I don't think it's
pairing in a way which permits file transfers. When I pair, my phone
gives me a checkbox "Allow xx to access your contacts and call history",
but there is no option to allow file transfers.

Then, when I attempt to transfer a file via Bluetooth from Ubuntu the
transfer fails and I get the message "There was an error". My phone
doesn't seem to recognise there's been any attempt to send a file.

Discussed at https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2377286

[Bug 1725447] [NEW] 17.10 gnome icons don't reflect/use existing open windows in certain applications

2017-11-11 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

In Ubuntu 17.10 using ubuntu or gnome desktop, certain application icons
do not work properly. Specifically unpinned apps don't appear in Docky
(gedit), once launched, open app indicator icons do not appear (gedit,
libreoffice writer, calc, GIMP). If one of these applications is
opened, clicking on the icon in docky launches a new instance rather
than switching to an existing instance. Changing back to unity desktop
resolves the issue.

I attempted several workarounds, including deleting and readding icons
to dock, uninstalling and reinstalling Docky. No luck with any.
Verified on four other computers from different manufacturers.
Consistent problem that appears to be application-specific. For
example, Firefox appears to work properly.

[Bug 1731693] [NEW] kernel crash/freeze during shutdown

2017-11-11 Thread Hadmut Danisch
Public bug reported:

Hi,

I have a brandnew HP Microserver Gen10 with a freshly installed and
almoste bare Ubuntu 16.04 and its 4.4.0-98-generic kernel, two
additional disks, and zfs.

Runs stable, but during shutdown it happened many times that the kernel
crashed and the machine completely froze (or hung in shutdown). Since
the machine was dead then, the only option to get the details was a
"screenshot" of the screen (as attached).

I've running a similar configuration on other machines, including older
Microserver models, but never saw that on any other machine.
