[Bug 1734424] [NEW] Mouse cursor jumps to top of screen when moved

2017-11-25 Thread einar.kristian
Public bug reported:

Creating this bug report has been a challenge. Every time I move the
cursor, it jumps back to the top of the screen, slightly to the right.
So I repeat and repeat and repeat until I get a hit on what I need to
do.

I have tried to purge nvidia, use nouveau, different versions of nvidia,
purged xorg, tried ubuntu instead of lubuntu, nothing improves the mouse
issue.

It all started after an update a few days ago. The mouse has been
working perfectly until then. I have tried different mouse types,
replaced batteries. Nothing works. So now I am stuck with a computer
that does not work.

[Bug 1734147] Re: Ubuntu 17.10 corrupting BIOS - many LENOVO laptops models

2017-11-25 Thread Toninetto
I've had the same problem. After trying different solutions, I had to remove
the bios chip with hot air, read the content with a usb programmer, and flash a
new chip. So now i can remove the secure boot and saving on exit...
I know this is an extreme solution, but I hope I can help someone find a
simpler solution.
