[Bug 1739955] Re: Qt5UiTools.pc Requires: non-existent Qt5UiPlugin
** Description changed: + [Impact] + + Without this fix, users are unable to use tools which depend on + Qt5UiPlugin.pc to exist. This is a regression in functionality in + comparison to previous releases and future releases. + + [Test case] + + See the original description for what shouldn't happen. `pkg-config + --print-errors Qt5UiTools` should successfully print after this patch is + applied. + + [Regression Potential] + + Little to none, as this change has been applied on every other release. + + Where something *could* go wrong is if a tool was specifically designed + to ensure that Qt5UiPlugin.pc is not found, or conflicts with that in + some way, which again, is unlikely given that this bug does not exist on + all other releases. + + [Original Description] + On xenial: $ pkg-config --print-errors Qt5UiTools Package Qt5UiPlugin was not found in the pkg-config search path. Perhaps you should add the directory containing `Qt5UiPlugin.pc' to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable Package 'Qt5UiPlugin', required by 'Qt5UiTools', not found No package appears to provide Qt5UiPlugin.pc -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1739955 Title: Qt5UiTools.pc Requires: non-existent Qt5UiPlugin To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qttools-opensource-src/+bug/1739955/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1731382] Re: [needs-packaging] [Feature] DPTF binary tools
** Description changed: Description: Dynamic Platform Thermal Framework (DPTF). Linux DPTF Extract Utility This is a companion tool to Linux Thermal Daemon (thermald). This tool tries to reuse some of the tables used by "Intel ® Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework (Intel® DPTF)" by converting to the thermal_conf.xml format used by thermald. There are two ways this tool can be used: Execute on the same system as thermald In this mode root privilege is required. This tool will copy converted files to /var/run/thermald/ folder. This is the default folder for thermald to pickup auto generated configuration file using ACPI tables. Execute on existing output of Linux acpidump utilities In this mode the existing ACPI dump is parsed and output file is generated and copied to /var/run/thermald/. For example to generate acpi dump and create thermal_conf.xml manually: acpidump > acpi.out acpixtract -a acpi.out dptfxtract "*.dat" Refer to COPYING file for the license information. [Bug 1635438] Re: menu-cached process is using 100% CPU
** No longer affects: menu-cache (Ubuntu Zesty) ** No longer affects: menu-cache (Ubuntu Trusty) ** Description changed: - For 17.10, please treat this as a 0-day SRU bug report. - [Impact] Without this bugfix, users who resume from suspend will be greeted with a heavy CPU load when they resume. This is especially bad for older computers who may not be able to hand a large CPU load, and menu-cache is included by default in Lubuntu, where this is especially important. [Test Case] 1. Suspend your computer with the menu-cache process running. 2. Resume from suspend. 3. Try to press Alt + F2 or use any other program which calls menu-cached. It should work as normal, but it uses up a lot of CPU power. [Regression Potential] This bugfix cherry picks an upstream commit that hasn't been tagged yet. As such, there might be additional improvements before it is released. Also, this modifies how processes are handled; specifically, it terminates any processes which return a socket error. This could eventually bitrot and result in processes returning valid values but it really shows as an error. While all of those are theoretical, it is definitely a possibility. Other than those two considerations, the regression risk is low. [Original Description] Hey all, I don't know you guys are looking for the issues opened on Github (https://github.com/lxde/menu-cache/issues/) - currently there are 5 reported there, but I'd like to report specifically for the menu-cached process using 100% of CPU (we also have an issue opened on Github for this with lots of comments: https://github.com/lxde/menu- cache/issues/7). I'm using a brand new installation of Lubuntu 16.10 in my laptop. I noticed the machine temperature was too hot (96 degrees!!!) so I took a look on top and the menu-cached was the guilty. I killed it and everything was as usual again. I just don't know if it was because I returned from the suspended mode or if it's because I tried to run a custom command with "Open With". I did both in sequence/same session. $ dpkg -l |grep -iP "menu.*?cache" ii libmenu-cache-bin 1.0.1-1build1 amd64 ii libmenu-cache3:amd641.0.1-1build1 amd64 Thanks -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1635438 Title: menu-cached process is using 100% CPU To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/menu-cache/+bug/1635438/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1705434] Re: akonadi_control crashed with SIGABRT in __GI_raise()
I get Akonadi crashing several times a day on a new laptop running Artful. My previous laptop, running Xenial, did not do this. I'm not sure that it's crashing with the same signal, as I don't know how to start Akonadi with this process being debugged. I tried attaching the debugger to the process, but the process simply exited without gdb being able to get a stack trace. [Bug 1745816] Re: [Bionic] 1.9.4-2ubuntu1 makes touchpad jumpy
Hi Francois, The patch in 1.9.4-2ubuntu1 is the same as what's coming soon in libinput release 1.10. So a fix for your specific touchpad should be done upstream. Simply reverting the patch won't help you after we update to libinput 1.10, and besides most laptops seem to need that patch. Please report the issue to the libinput developers here: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=wayland=libinput And when done let us know the ID of your newly created bug. ** Changed in: libinput (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1745816 Title: [Bionic] 1.9.4-2ubuntu1 makes touchpad jumpy To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libinput/+bug/1745816/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
