[Bug 1332847] Re: Switching from russian to chinese does not work

2018-03-24 Thread A.M. via ubuntu-bugs
Well, actually I did switch to arch linux, not an ubuntu user anymore.
However I suppose it is still issue because of upstream ibus-libpinyin
package. Likely I would to post a bug report there but right now I am
simply fixing it for my self using simple patch like this:

```
diff -Naur src.org/ibus-libpinyin-1.9.0/src/libpinyin.xml.in.in
src/ibus-libpinyin-1.9.0/src/libpinyin.xml.in.in
 BYVoid byvo...@gmail.com
${pkgdatadir}/icons/ibus-pinyin.svg
-   default
+   us
Intelligent Pinyin
Intelligent Pinyin input
method
99
```
After that all starts working just fine.

see source here https://github.com/libpinyin/ibus-
libpinyin/blob/master/src/libpinyin.xml.in.in#L24

switching to chinese from russian uses default layout, as described in
that xml, which is RU. because of that switching does not work. Forcing
the layout to be US resolves the issue.

Hope the information will be useful to somebody

[Bug 1711337] Re: Firefox crashes at start on armv7L after 55.0.1 update

2018-03-24 Thread James Donald
@herrtimson we already confirmed that the gcc-7 / Bionic build crashes
on the exact same misaligned instruction in Skia. See responses #48 and
#50 for how I tested this, the point being that waiting for Bionic alone
won't fix this.

Diagnosing a corrupt stack: whether you have debug symbols or not you
should run this in gdb: layout asm. This will tell you if it's the same
Skia illegal/misaligned instruction, the earlier SIGSEGV crash at strd
r2, r3, [r1], or something else. Because levente was using a 16.04 deb
he was most likely hitting the known SIGSEGV. Would be good to identify
your build's crash because we don't have any other datapoints for gcc 6.

[Bug 1539585] Re: After invoking ibus_panel_service_candidate_clicked UI is not updated properly

2018-03-24 Thread Gunnar Hjalmarsson
Hi Sebastian,

Thanks for your report, and sorry for late response.

The version of ibus-libpinyin in the Ubuntu archive is now 1.9.2, and I
assume this issue is fixed there, so closing. Fixing it in previous
releases is low priority; it will only happen if you can find anyone who
is willing to do it.

ibus-libpinyin is the default input method for zh_CN in Ubuntu 18.04, so
we'll likely be more attentive to this package going forward.

2018-03-24 Thread Simon Quigley
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all
