[Bug 1721955] Re: Human, Human-Clearlooks and other themes have incorrect gray window title color
My hunch is that this has to do with how the Human themes have theme definitions for GTK2 but not GTK3—other themes like this seem to be having similar problems, now. The best workaround I’ve found is this one: https://www.opendesktop.org/s/mate/p/1013593/ It took a little bit of fidgeting for me to get this to work correctly, and there are still some bugs, but someone has created workable new versions of the Human themes. Personally, I used the “Human Quarny Clearlooks” theme, by copying its folder (renaming it “Human-Quarny-Clearlooks”) into “~/.themes”, then copying the “metacity-1” folder from “Human Quarny” into “Human-Quarny- Clearlooks”, and updating the index.theme file to rename the theme “Human Quarny Clearlooks” and then specify the sub-themes (except for icon theme, which stays “Humanity”) as “Human-Quarny-Clearlooks” instead of just “Human”). …That was way too complicated, but just copying the theme folders into “~.themes” created four or so different “Human” themes in the “Appearance” theme selector, and I had a feeling that madness lied that way. Oh, and the most obvious bug I’ve found is that some applications (like Emacs and Geany) have a weird scrollbar issue where the scrollbar slider is drawn but never un-drawn, so if you slide it around pretty soon your whole scrollbar is orange. (I note this here as a precaution and to see if anyone else has the same problem—after all, I did install the theme in a rather wacky fashion) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1721955 Title: Human, Human-Clearlooks and other themes have incorrect gray window title color To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/community-themes/+bug/1721955/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1767030] [NEW] Nautilus does not focus search bar upon typing if search bar already is visible
Public bug reported: (Nautilus 3.26.3 on Ubuntu 18.04, but bug has been present as long as the new search box has existed to my knowledge) If you start typing in nautilus, so long as no text field anywhere is focused, the search box will appear and get focus, so you end up typing into it. However, if the search box is already visible but does not have focus (for example, by tapping ctrl-f and then clicking outside the search box), then typing does not re-focus the search box. This is jarring since you can be looking at a normal view of a folder (not at search results), and out of habit expect that you can start typing to search. Even if you tap ctrl-f, this makes an empty search box *vanish*, so you have to tap ctrl-f *twice* to get it focused (or click on it of course) Solutions include: * Make an empty search box always vanish upon losing focus * Make an empty search box, if still visible, gain focus again if the user starts typing. The first solution is probably cleanest since there is no use case I can think of for leaving an empty search box visible if the user is not about to type into it. ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1767030 Title: Nautilus does not focus search bar upon typing if search bar already is visible To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1767030/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1767027] [NEW] Search current folder only in nautilus 3.26.3 doesn't work (Ubuntu 18.04)
Public bug reported: I upgraded to Ubuntu 18.04 prerelease from Ubuntu 17.10 and am finding that Nautilus searches all subfolders when I start typing, not just the present folder, even though I have the "search only current folder" option selected in its preferences, and "Only searching the current folder" does appear in the GUI as I am searching. [Bug 1766663] Re: source kernel 4.15 bug in media.h
Thank you for you quick response. Sorry, I have once again looked at the origin kernel source before the header DEB is built. Then I see the user space .h is correctly isolated in uapi tree. Some how, the process of compile and install, has striped all kernel macro directive from these user space .h I haven't figured out what cause this I follow this guide to build the custom kernel with its associate header https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Kernel/Compile And exactly from apt-get source MAKEFLAGS="HOSTCC=/usr/bin/gcc CCACHE_PREFIX=distcc" make-kpkg --rootcmd fakeroot --initrd --append-to-version=-suspend2 kernel-image kernel- headers kernel-source So, I suppose this is not a bug but may be the default feature of the build tool chain. Am I correct? It is an off topic But I don't know why custom header is striped out that way, when ubuntu header retain origin directive. Could not prepare Boot variable: No space left on device grub-install: Fehler: efibootmgr failed to register the boot entry: Eingabe-/Ausgabefehler. ESC[1mdpkg:ESC[0m error processing package shim-signed (--configure): installed shim-signed package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1 This indicates that your nvram is unfortunately not writable due to an "out of space" error returned from your firmware. You will need to try to reboot your system and retry the upgrade after rebooting. It is strongly recommended that you run 'sudo apt-get -f install' before rebooting in order to ensure the system is in as consistent a state as possible before reboot. ** Changed in: shim-signed (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1767025 Title: package shim-signed 1.34.9+13-0ubuntu2 failed to install/upgrade: installed shim-signed package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/shim-signed/+bug/1767025/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1766969] Re: DNS cannot be resolved in Hotel Hotspot
Can confirm that the dns logs indicate that systemd-resolved is not falling back from UDP+EDNS0 to UDP in response to these NXDOMAIN answers. The existing patch only implements this fallback when the portal name being looked up includes 'secure' as a substring: +if (DNS_PACKET_RCODE(p) == DNS_RCODE_NXDOMAIN && t->current_feature_level >= DNS_SERVER_FEATURE_LEVEL_EDNS0) { + +char key_str[DNS_RESOURCE_KEY_STRING_MAX]; +dns_resource_key_to_string(t->key, key_str, sizeof key_str); +if (strstr(key_str, "secure") != NULL) { +t->current_feature_level = t->current_feature_level - 1; + +log_warning("Server returned error %s, suspecting DNS violation DVE-2018-0001, retrying transaction with reduced feature level %s.", The packet capture shows a number of DNS lookups, but not containing the substring 'secure'; and none that appear to correspond to the captive portal itself. This may require a different sort of solution than the previous bug, I'm not sure. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1766969 Title: DNS cannot be resolved in Hotel Hotspot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/systemd/+bug/1766969/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1767020] [NEW] French language keyboard layout selection _randomly_ fails
Public bug reported: When starting the installer in French language, when getting to the Keyboard Layout Selection the layout appears to randomly fail to set. By random I mean I haven't been able to determine a sequence of steps that either always triggers this failure, or a sequence that never does. The Correct Layout is selected by default in both lists (left and right) but is not actually in effect when testing in the input field. Note this is possibly due to a conflict in the MATE desktop, I don't have the expertise to determine whether that's the case or not. I installed Lubuntu Bionic Desktop 20180425 under VirtualBox on a Windows 10 host. I tried both with and without 3D acceleration enabled. For me, I didn't get any screen corruption. [Bug 1766998] Re: ceph: replace -source/-target 1.8 with --release 7
** Description changed: - I am formatting this as an SRU, but as there is no known regression I - will not be subscribing the ubuntu-sru team. I will leave it up to the - maintainer to decide if this is worth an SRU (maybe together with bug - #1766995). It can also be reviewed later on when openjdk-11 is SRUed to - Bionic. - - - [Impact] + [Impact] The fix for bug #1756854 updated the -source and -target from 1.5 to 1.8 to allow the build to succeed with openjdk-9 as well as to keep compatibility with openjdk-11. That change missed the fact that the right way to set the target jdk level in openjdk-9 is to actually use the --release flag, introduced by JEP-247 [1]. By using the --release flag the right bootclasspath is also set, which prevents API compatibility problems when running the compiled jar/classes with older jdks (including the targeted one) [2,3]. Also, while JEP-182 [4] indicated that OpenJDK-11 would only allow a minimum source/target of 1.8, that later changed due to introduction of a 6-month release cycle, which moved the minimum source/target to 1.6 for openjdk-10 [5] and to 1.7 for openjdk-11 [6]. Thus the proposal is to move from "-source 1.8 -target 1.8" to "-- release 7" in order to accommodate both changes. Re: [Bug 1766746] Re: Cannot save customized configurations - can only copy defaults
Hi again - I didn't see your second message, about IRC conversation, until just now. But this suggestion seems not to be the case. Here's my experiment: I modified a Gnome 2 panel and attempted to save it, but just copied the Bionic "current configuration." Failure. Then I suspended the computer. When I resumed, I saved the configuration, with Current Configuration selected. This time it worked. Just as I was able to save a modified Bionic config right after installation. I think it's significant that both times, I was able to save modifications to whatever config the session started with. After this success, I applied Redmond, modified it, and tried to save it. But what was saved was the modified Gnome 2. Which is the configuration that was active when the session started. I'm pretty sure that having Current Configuration selected saves the configuration that's active when you log in, not the configuration you have at the moment you save. I could be wrong, but I hope this helps.
