Hey Leonidas, Per this comment: https://github.com/Yeraze/ytnef/issues/45#issuecomment-392658096, if you download this example file https://bugs.mageia.org/attachment.cgi?id=9088, then run a version of ytnef with the patch from CVE-2017-9058 applied to it (e.g. libytnef0 1.9.2-2), you'll see the following: > mjg@payens:~$ ytnef -v -f . ~/winmail.dat > Corrupted file detected at ytnef.c : 546 > zappa_av1.jpg In particular it doesn't successfully extract the file bookmark.htm from the example. What you should see instead is (this is running current yntef git master): > mjg@payens:~/local/src/ytnef$ ytnef/ytnef -v -f . ~/winmail.dat > Attempting to parse /home/mjg/Incoming/winmail.dat... > ./zappa_av1.jpg > ./bookmark.htm Does that help? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1666884 Title: libytnef: February 2017 multiple vulnerabilities (X41-2017-002) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libytnef/+bug/1666884/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1779425] [NEW] USB bug
Public bug reported: After updating to the latest kernel, a USB Hub/switch that used to work has a problem. It works initially when booting up my Linux Mint system, but if you switch the USB over to another PC and back, all my Linux Mint PC's USB ports all stop working. It is an IOGear GUS404 usb 2.0 sharing switch and is not using external power. I've tried plugging in a separate USB keyboard to make sure this is the case. Hope this helps. [Bug 1779411] [NEW] info about bug appeared on screen earlier today
Public bug reported: i was watching hawaiian volcano videos this morning and the screen locked up. i restarted the computer and the error message appeared(error with 18.04 was the message). however, prior to that, grub appeared to show a problem beginning to form about a week ago. grub used to be a short startup leading to give me a choice of which hard drive i wanted to begin with(1 tb wd black and a 250gb samsung ssd. both drives have linux 18.04, one ubuntu and one kubuntu. only the ubuntu is acting up. for the past two days, grub is showing me every line of the startup process, although the ubuntu is otherwise starting normally. i know enough to enter code correctly in the terminal(e.g. sudo apt-get upgrade etc) and like the simplicity and independence of linux but regret that i must have the code spelled out for me if mistakes are to be avoided. i'm old and don't mind admitting it. hope this helps. cheers. paul. [Bug 1748689] Re: Mounting SMB shares with vers=3.0 in fstab gives "ioctl error in smb2_get_dfs_refer rc=-2"
Looks like it's potentially been fixed upstream: https://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-cifs/msg14325.html Can we get this patch backported to Trusty, Xenial, Artful and Bionic? [Bug 1778584] Re: linux-image-3.13.0-151-generic fails to boot
I have the same problem with 3.13.0-151-generic on Xubuntu 14.04.0 x86. The computer updated automatically and, after a reboot, the laptop was unbootable. The GRUB boot menu is displayed with 'Ubuntu' listed first. If I select it or if the countdown reaches zero, the computer screen turns black, restarts, and then the BIOS screen is displayed again after which the GRUB boot menu is back. The second option in the GRUB boot menu, 'Advanced options for Ubuntu', lists kernel -151 and its recovery mode, neither of which work. It always ends in a boot-loop. 3.13.0-149 and its recovery mode were listed below and work without issues. I've taken the drastic measure of disabling all updates and also purged linux-headers-3.13.0-151-generic, linux-generic, linux- image-3.13.0-151-generic, linux-image-extra-3.13.0-151-generic, linux- image-generic, linux-tools-common, linux-tools-generic, etc. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1778584 Title: linux-image-3.13.0-151-generic fails to boot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1778584/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
