Yes, because there is no "blocked" status. "In Progress" includes waiting for reviews when nothing is really happening. This is normal. It should be assigned so as to show that someone has done or will do the work. It's often too hard (or too much effort) to find that information in the comments section alone. If a bug is left unassigned it may then get assigned to a second person, unknowing that a first has already done the work. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1788483 Title: gnome-shell crashed with SIGABRT in g_assertion_message() from g_assertion_message_expr("assertion failed: (trap->end_sequence == 0)") from gdk_x11_display_error_trap_pop_internal() from meta_input_settings_x11_set_tablet_keep_aspect() To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1788483/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I hit this last night, it didn't impact booting, but it did fail the upgrade, which I had to fix up post-reboot with dpkg --configure -a. This should not be necessary. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Reviewing your dmesg attachment in this bug report it seems that there is a problem with your hardware. [Bug 1795545] [NEW] Systemtap incompatible with ubuntu 18.04
Public bug reported: Under 16.04 I ran run: $ stap nfsd-trace.stp Mon Oct 1 19:48:05 2018 PDT 10.22.7.20:50434 nfsd.proc4.lookup grep /export/1/blank/build.2018-08-22/bin/grep Works great. Under 18.04 I tried: # stap nfsd-trace.stp semantic error: while processing probe module("nfsd").function("nfsd4_lookup@/build/linux-lZKWha/linux-4.15.0/fs/nfsd/nfs4proc.c:735").call from: nfsd.proc4.lookup from: nfsd.proc.lookup from: nfsd.proc.entries from: nfsd.proc.entries The kernel being used: Linux nas-7-0 4.15.0-22-generic #24-Ubuntu SMP Wed May 16 12:15:17 UTC 2018 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux I thought I might need a newer systemtap, so I installed it from git on Sept 27th 2018. So the same run: /share/apps/systemtap-2018-09-27# ./bin/stap ./share/systemtap/examples/network/nfsd-trace.stp semantic error: while processing probe module("nfsd").function("nfsd4_read@/build/linux-lZKWha/linux-4.15.0/fs/nfsd/nfs4proc.c:744").call from: nfsd.proc4.read from: nfsd.proc.read from: nfsd.proc.entries from: nfsd.proc.entries Other scripts like iostats.stp work as expected. So basically from what I can tell the neither the ubuntu provided systemtap, nor the upstream systemtap works with the widely circulated nfsd-trace.stp file. It's been available from redhat's documentation as well as part of the upstream source under examples. I expected the 18.04 result of "stap nfsd-trace.stp" to be much like the 16.04 result. Showing a log of NFS related I/O, path names, time stamps, etc. Other NFS related scripts like nfsd-recent.stp works. ** Affects: systemtap (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1795545 Title: Systemtap incompatible with ubuntu 18.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/systemtap/+bug/1795545/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1792660] Re: nvme name floated after boot with 4.15.0 kernel
Hi Guo, thanks for your tests! So, to confirm: a) With Ubuntu kernel 4.15.0-34, using the kernel parameter "nvme_core.multipath=0", you _don't_ see the issue; b) With kernel 4.17.0-041700rc1-generic, even using the parameter "nvme_core.multipath=0", you *can reproduce* the issue. Right? I've noticed that the fix patch is present in v4.17-rc4, but I see a "rc1" in your kernel version - it could explain why even in this 4.17 version you can reproduce the issue. I'll build an upstream 4.17 and re-test in my environment, to double-check if it fixes for me. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that there was an error on your system when trying to install a particular package. Please execute the following command, as it will clear your package cache, in a terminal: sudo apt-get clean Then try performing the update again. This will likely resolve your issue, but the failure could be caused by filesystem or memory corruption. So please also run a fsck on your filesystem(s) and a memory test. Thanks in advance! [Bug 1793028] Re: NetBSD CVE Patch Regression
I would offer some support to better analyse the bug. The new log messages plus debug in racoon do not help much. Maybe dumping network traffic with wireshark could help, but traffic is encrypted. so I need some guidance on this. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1793028 Title: NetBSD CVE Patch Regression To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ipsec-tools/+bug/1793028/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1795259] Re: linux-image-4.15.0-34-generic does not allow logging in via recovery mode.
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. [Bug 1793028] Re: NetBSD CVE Patch Regression
Quote from upstream bug report discussion: I agree there's something wrong with the code, although I would also like to have ways of reproducing this. Working on this bug right now is kind of a shot in the dark, and it seems numerous people here have worked on PoC or have real world conditions to reproduce those issues. It would be nice to share those so we can fix those issues properly. SuSE has also taken the upstream patch including the latest changes. But exactly the changes from Jan. 2017 introduce the regression. Changes afterwards seem to be more code clean-up. Fedora and ArchLinux seem not to apply the patch (yet).
