2018-11-04 Thread  Christian Ehrhardt 
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.

Since it seems likely to me that this is a local configuration problem,
rather than a bug in Ubuntu, I'm marking this bug as Incomplete.

If indeed this is a local configuration problem, you can find pointers
to get help for this sort of problem here:
http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community

Or if you believe that this is really a bug, then you may find it
helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively"
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem,
explain why you believe this is a bug in Ubuntu rather than a problem
specific to your system, and then change the bug status back to New.

2018-11-04 Thread  Christian Ehrhardt 
Hi,
your service starts to fail after install as it shows in the log.
Unfortunately there isn't much more in the logs attached here to debate what
the reason might be.

The log tells you to check out:
  systemctl status rabbitmq-server.service
  journalctl -xe
For more details, and I'd do so as well.

I just installed rabbitmq-server on a fresh xenial system - it works out of the
box without tweaking.
Therefore something in your system config is the reasons it fails and we would
have to find what exactly.

Once that config issue is resolved it will work to install/update - but
the info provided isn't enough to debug it further atm.

So whatever is broken on the header detection is in between libvirt 4.0 and 4.6

[Bug 1801666] [NEW] FTBFS in Bionic - seems due to newer wireshark

2018-11-04 Thread  Christian Ehrhardt 
Public bug reported:

Libvirt atm Fails to build from source in Bionic.

Fails to find wiretap/wtap., but actual path is

Failing build log in sbuild: http://paste.ubuntu.com/p/T95BFDhNGJ/

Latest successful build of libvirt isn't to long ago at 2018-09-13.
But since then wireshark got bumped on 2018-10-15

Wireshark was on release at
 2.4.5-1
and that is true even for the last libvirt rebuild.
It seems there were a bunch of CVEs against wireshark which made people push
the much newer 2.6 series to Bionic recently.
It is now at 2.6.3-1~ubuntu18.04.1

[Bug 1801661] [NEW] fix tox python3 overrides

2018-11-04 Thread shupeng
Public bug reported:

We want to default to running all tox environments under python 3, so
set the basepython value in each environment.

We do not want to specify a minor version number, because we do not
want to have to update the file every time we upgrade python.

We do not want to set the override once in testenv, because that
breaks the more specific versions used in default environments like
py35 and py36.

[Bug 1800101] Re: gnome-shell uses 100% CPU

2018-11-04 Thread René Schultz Madsen
The problem is not there on a regular basis and I have only seen it 3
times since the installation of this computer.

I don't know how to reproduce the problem and I can't live with the pure
performance of 'nouveau' on this production computer.

Why do you suspect the nvidia driver to be the problem?

[Bug 1751005] Re: libreoffice cannot open a document not within $HOME

2018-11-04 Thread Olivier Tilloy
This issue was specific to the deb package, not the snap.
Regarding the snap, it is a known limitation. If you can mount your separate
partition under /media or /run/media, then connecting the removable-media
interface (snap connect libreoffice:removable-media) should make this work for
you.

[Bug 1798725] Re: gvfs may crash when parsing non-valid UTF8 in autorun.inf

2018-11-04 Thread Camille Gay
>From what I understand,

1) autorun.inf files can be written to automatically execute a program.
However, they still need to get user approval through a "Do you trust this
program?" kind of message.
2) According to upstream comment, "By setting PCRE_NO_UTF8_CHECK you are
guaranteeing that the string is a valid UTF-8 string. If you break your
promise, anything might happen.". Some people have already exploited similar
bugs to execute an arbitrary payload (
https://googleprojectzero.blogspot.com/2015/02/exploitingscve-2015-0318sinsflash.html
 ).

At worse, I think the bug could be exploited to create a malicious USB/SD
Card/Filesystem image to execute arbitrary code without user approval when
mounted. It could also be used to run code with gvfs privileges.
Not sure if that qualifies as a security issue. The bug does not happen when no
user is authenticated (locked screen), so it cannot be used to bypass a login
screen.
