[Bug 1805920] Re: iPXE ignores vlan 0 traffic
I did some digging, and it seems that: 1. Upstream has not accepted a patch from redhat to strip the priority tags [1] 2. RHEL (and consequently centos) are patching ipxe directly [2], [3]. Based on this, I think this patch could potentially be ported into ipxe in Ubuntu, however, I think there should be some investigation into the network as to why packets are not stripped on egress. This problem seems to have started when Mesa 18.0.0 was introduced to Ubuntu 18.04. I can't seem to correlate it with anything else, and can't relate it to a specific Xorg update. [Bug 1806154] [NEW] Dolphin can show a removable drive as mounted when it isn't and vice-versa.
Public bug reported: It's trivial to get Dolphin to show a Removable Device as mounted (a green icon) after Dolphin has actually unmounted the drive. Steps to reproduce: 1. Plugin a removable device. This will show up in Dolphin under "Removable Devices" 2. Click on it to mount it. 3. Open a Terminal on the drive. 4. Right click on the device icon and select "Safely Remove". Because of the open terminal this will fail. 5. Close the terminal. 6. Right click on the device icon and select "Safely Remove" again. The device wil lunmount, but Dolphin will continue to show is as mounted (a green icon). At this point if you close Dolphin and open up another one then click /right-click+"Safely Remove" will work, but that Dolphin will always show a red (unmounted) icon for the device. [Bug 1776616] Re: Ubuntu 18.04 getting stuck at "Starting Reboot" and "Starting Power-Off"
I couldn't resist a challenge :), so I installed GCC version 5. In the process of trying to compile a bisected kernel, my file system somehow got corrupted. I have no idea who the culprit is, as this laptop is very old. So, it could be a hardware issue, who knows. But this exercise has convinced me that these Toshiba laptops are just too outdated for modern Linux versions. I've reformatted my filesystems, and I'm falling back to 16.04 Mate. I'll stay there as long as the laptop lasts. Thanks all for attempting to help. [Bug 1806153] [NEW] ifupdown cannot create VLAN subinterface on an Infiniband-capable port running in Ethernet mode
Public bug reported: A bug exists in ifupdown which incorrectly identifies Infiniband-capable interfaces running in Ethernet mode as Infiniband interfaces. This causes the creation of VLANs to fail with an error such as: /bin/sh: 1: cannot create /sys/class/net/eth0/create_child: Permission denied The defect appears to be fixed upstream in Debian: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=857976 However, it doesn't look like Ubuntu 18.04 includes the fix, as the version of ifupdown is 0.8.17ubuntu1.1, while upstream fixed it 0.8.27. By shipping 18.04 without this fix, all users of such NICs (such as Mellanox ConnectX-3 series) are unable to create VLANs with ifupdown. Therefore, I request that this fix be implemented as a bugfix in 18.04. ** Affects: ifupdown (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1806153 Title: ifupdown cannot create VLAN subinterface on an Infiniband-capable port running in Ethernet mode To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ifupdown/+bug/1806153/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1806133] [NEW] OVF does not read user-data if vmware IMC is used.
Public bug reported: As currently implemented, cloud-init will read either OVF CDrom *or* the vmware IMC data. That means if user-data is provided in the OVF environment file then it will not be consumed at all by cloud-init. It seems we need to either: a.) support reading and merging these two sources of information b.) provide some way to feed user-data through the IMC path separately. [Bug 1805426] Re: Not able to log in into Google Account, aswell as Microsoft account
Ok, i've found that problem I was having had to do with IPv6 connectivity. Usually I disable the IPv6 connection because there are certain PPAs (archive.ubuntu.com, for example) that for some odd reason, never load, and they timeout on "sudo apt update". My network provider has no problem with the IPv6 service, but Ubuntu, usually, cannot load a PPA through IPv6. Because of that, I only allow IPv4 connectivity to be active, and that was the issue. It seems that g-i-s and g-c-c only want to connect via IPv6, even though it was disabled through the g-c-c. I think that both should first check on how the network is setup up and then load the webpages as determined by the settings. That is the issue. I hope it gets fixed. After I set IPv6 method to "Auto", both g-i-s and g-c-c loaded all log- in pages without a problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1805426 Title: Not able to log in into Google Account, aswell as Microsoft account To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/1805426/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1702793] Re: Full backport SRU for unattended-upgrades
** Description changed: [Impact] * I would like to propose a one-off full backport of unattended-upgrades 1.2ubuntu1 to Bionic, Artful, Xenial and possibly Trusty releases because selectively backporting fixes for crashes and for issues that made u-u unreliable would be more risky thanks to the huge number of fixes and the inter-dependencies between them. Those are unlikely. * There are open bugs about u-u being slower than in the past, thus this may be a likely regression but IMO the pending speed optimizations should not be blocking the backport because the reliability issues are more important to fix and speed optimizations can be cherry-picked later.
