[Bug 1815212] Re: [Xenial][Bionic][SRU] Update pci.ids to version 2018.07.21
** Description changed: [Impact] pci.ids table in Xenial seems a little bit behind in term of new device id added since last time it was updated. Some user are observing that their new device doesn't show up because they don't exist in the pci.ids file yet. User or troubleshooter may get a wrong impression that, for instance, the correct raid controller is not present, if the user doesn't read the PCI bus address. While we are here, I will update Xenial and Bionic to be at the same version level (Version: 2018.07.21) of current devel release (Disco) which isn't too far behind current upstream (github) one in master branch. x/pciutils-3.3.1/pci.ids:#Version: 2016.01.02 b/pciutils-3.5.2/pci.ids:#Version: 2017.03.16 c/pciutils-3.5.2/pci.ids:#Version: 2018.07.21 d/pciutils-3.5.2/pci.ids:#Version: 2018.07.21 upstream/pciutils/pci.ids:# Version: 2018.08.12 [Test case] + * Deploy Xenial and/or Bionic system. + * Run 'lspci' command took from the pciutils package found in the Ubuntu archive + * Look all listed devices are recognised with the proper device name/vendor/... + Here's an example took by a user using a device id (0014) not in the Xenial pci.ids table: lspci on Xenial: 60:00.0 RAID bus controller: LSI Logic / Symbios Logic Device 0014 (rev 01) lspci on Bionic: 60:00.0 RAID bus controller: LSI Logic / Symbios Logic MegaRAID Tri-Mode SAS3516 (rev 01) [Pending SRU status] * XENIAL - - Regression in autopkgtest for linux-oracle + - Regression in autopkgtest for linux-oracle https://objectstorage.prodstack4-5.canonical.com/v1/AUTH_77e2ada1e7a84929a74ba3b87153c0ac/autopkgtest-xenial/xenial/amd64/l/linux-oracle/20190211_192705_fa550@/log.gz ERROR: running version does not match source package Source Package Version: 4.15.0-1008.10~16.04.1 Running Kernel Version: 4.4.0-142.168 ==> https://launchpad.net/bugs/1723223 * BIONIC - Regression in autopkgtest for linux-oracle (amd64): test log https://objectstorage.prodstack4-5.canonical.com/v1/AUTH_77e2ada1e7a84929a74ba3b87153c0ac/autopkgtest-bionic/bionic/amd64/l/linux-oracle/20190211_163710_b6f0a@/log.gz Source Package Version: 4.15.0-1008.10 Running Kernel Version: 4.15.0-45.48 ERROR: running version does not match source package ==> https://launchpad.net/bugs/1723223 - Regression in autopkgtest for linux-gcp-edge (amd64): test log https://objectstorage.prodstack4-5.canonical.com/v1/AUTH_77e2ada1e7a84929a74ba3b87153c0ac/autopkgtest-bionic/bionic/amd64/l/linux-gcp-edge/20190211_163830_8dce2@/log.gz Source Package Version: 4.15.0-1008.10 Running Kernel Version: 4.15.0-45.48 ERROR: running version does not match source package ==> https://launchpad.net/bugs/1723223 - [Regression Potential] Low, no core functionality change. The intention is to only update pci.ids table list to recognise new PCI vendor/product list, by updating it to the same version level as Cosmic and Disco has as of today. The only thing I can think of ... In some cases there is some device id renaming, which I guess can "possibly" impact some user script and/or HW inventory solution. Such changes are appropriate provided that we can ensure not to affect upgrades on existing hardware. For example, modaliases of newly introduced drivers must not overlap with previously shipped drivers. [Bug 1815996] Re: Hugin freezes after alignment
The attached screenshot shows what the desktop with the empty window and empty Error box looks like, after going away to a different desktop (to file this bug) and then returning to it. Part of the window gets erased, but not redrawn with anything, and hence remains blank, and the rest doesn't even get redrawn. [Bug 1815996] [NEW] Hugin freezes after alignment
Public bug reported: I just tried to do another long (14 picture) panorama (also with a tripod). This one had a wide brightness range, which was eventually going to cause a problem, but I told it to go ahead and align it anyway. In two different runs-through, I got two slightly different results: 1: Alignment finished, but I could see a problem between what appeared to be photos 8 and 9. I tried to call up the window where I could manually enter control points. Window comes up - blank. Nothing more. Had to kill the process. 2: The second time around, I noticed that it could find no control points between Photo 8 and 9. Not surprising, but when it finished, it put up a window, and then an error box but both were blank, and nothing further was possible, except killing the process. A third time, I started Hugin from the terminal. some gtk-critical warnings and some info came up immediately, but until I reached the blank-window=and-error-box stage, nothing more. Then, I got: "(hugin:4321): Gtk-WARNING **: gtk_widget_size_allocate(): attempt to allocate widget with width 0 and height -27 (hugin:4321): Gtk-WARNING **: gtk_widget_size_allocate(): attempt to allocate widget with width -5 and height 17 " The gtk critical warnings i then noted were also widget-based, so I will mention that there were 12 identical lines: "(hugin:4321): Gtk-CRITICAL **: IA__gtk_widget_set_size_request: assertion 'height >= -1' failed " I will attach a text file with the complete terminal output. This appears to be a freeze/endless loop, as when I brought up HTOP, one or other of my CPU cores was (almost) always at a full 100% --- scott@scott-Asus-M2N68-AM-PLUS:~$ uname -a Linux scott-Asus-M2N68-AM-PLUS 4.13.0-46-generic #51-Ubuntu SMP Tue Jun 12 12:36:29 UTC 2018 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux scott@scott-Asus-M2N68-AM-PLUS:~$ lsb_release -dsc Ubuntu 17.10 artful scott@scott-Asus-M2N68-AM-PLUS:~$ echo $DESKTOP_SESSION QLubuntu scott@scott-Asus-M2N68-AM-PLUS:~$ apt-cache policy hugin* hugin: Installed: 2018.1.0+hg7969+dfsg-0ubuntu1~artful Candidate: 2018.1.0+hg7969+dfsg-0ubuntu1~artful Version table: *** 2018.1.0+hg7969+dfsg-0ubuntu1~artful 500 500 http://ppa.launchpad.net/hugin/nightly/ubuntu artful/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 2017.0.0~rc2+dfsg-2 500 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu artful/universe amd64 Packages (I was using 2017.0.0~rc2+dfsg-2 (Standard for [L]ubuntu 17.10) originally, but noted that elsewhere, a more recent version was available, and thought that perhaps the "bug" (?) had been fixed there. Verification performed in cosmic using the generic kernel (4.18.0-15.16) and the previous behaviour was preserved as expected. @Steve Beattie Awesome thanks for doing this so promptly :-) > - I touched up the versions, since there is no difference besides which > release they are for > (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SecurityTeam/UpdatePreparation#Update_the_packaging > contains details on how packages are typically versioned) Thanks! I'll note this for any future security uploads. > - Because of the dependency on the version of ostree in bionic-updates, I > had to do a no-change rebuild of ostree for the bionic-security pocket > (otherwise, flatpak would be uninstallable for a system that only has > bionic-security and not bionic-updates enabled). Ah yes that makes sense, I'll make sure to note any dependencies that would need moving in the bug description next time. > - It's not blocking this update, but when poking through the test plan wiki > page above, gnome-software-plugin-flatpak is uninstallable on bionic: >The following packages have unmet dependencies: > gnome-software-plugin-flatpak : Depends: gnome-software (= 3.28.1-0ubuntu4) > but 3.28.1-0ubuntu4.18.04.8 is to be installed Hmm this seems strange, as gnome-software and gnome-software-plugin- flatpak has version 3.28.1-0ubuntu4 in bionic and version 3.28.1-0ubuntu4.18.04.8 is in bionic-updates (both of the binary packages are from the same source package so they should match? https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/bionic/+source/gnome-software ). I wonder had you previously updated your machine to have a newer gnome- software, then disabled bionic-updates to test this ? As then this message may make sense. Or do you have any other ideas or suggestions as to what has happened ? (I have multiple machines and VMs with bionic-updates enabled that have gnome-software-plugin-flatpak installed successfully). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1815528 Title: New upstream microrelease flatpak 1.0.7 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/flatpak/+bug/1815528/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1815948] Re: Upgrade from rocky python2->python3 packages breaks openstack_dashboard alternative
I'm not sure whether the fix belongs in the charm or the package. We could remove the rendered charm files from /usr/share/openstack- dashboard/openstack_dashboard prior to upgrading. Another option is the package could forcefully remove /usr/share/openstack- dashboard/openstack_dashboard in the preinst script for rocky. The latter might make sense since it's not much different from removing the alternative in the prerm/postrm scripts. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1815948 Title: Upgrade from rocky python2->python3 packages breaks openstack_dashboard alternative To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/charm-openstack-dashboard/+bug/1815948/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1815788] Re: lshw exits with segmentation fault when commissioning a new node on maas
Can you confirm storage is working correctly for you? Does the system you are experiencing this on have Intel SGX? Upstream recently committed a patch [1] to prevent a segmentation fault when using Intel SGX. Can you try building lshw from source[2] and see if you can reproduce the issue? Closing the MAAS issue as this is a problem with lshw, not MAAS. [Bug 1802021] Re: [Hyper-V] srcu: Lock srcu_data structure in srcu_gp_start()
@lazamarius1: Just to clarify, the fix is scheduled to go in the 4.15 kernel in Bionic which is the same kernel as the Xenial HWE kernel. So there's no need to add anything to the Affects section. You will see a new linux-hwe 4.15 kernel in xenial-proposed once this is ready to test.
