[Bug 1819413] Re: [ICL] S0ix Enabling
** No longer affects: linux ** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: intel Status: New => Fix Committed ** Tags removed: intel-kernel-19.04 ** Tags added: intel-kernel-19.10 ** Description changed: Description: S0ix-states represent the residency in the Intel® SoC idle standby power states. The S0ix states shut off part of the SoC when they are not in use. The S0ix states are triggered when specific conditions within the SoC have been achieved, for example: certain components are in low power states. The SoC consumes the least amount of power in the deepest (for example, S0i3) state. S0ix is triggered by two paths: (1) by system PM, e.g "suspend-to-idle" triggered by pressing the power button on Android device or command manually triggered on any Linux based distros; (2) by runtime PM, i.e no system activities with display off. S0ix should simply work in theory with trigger path (1) if we have the device drivers ready. On GLK, we require the below PCI device drivers with system PM support. ACPI device requirements are WIP. - I2C designware PCI driver - USB XHCI PCI ID - Intel trace Hub[NPK) PCI ID - SPI BXT PCI ID - SCSI UFS BXT PCI host ID - Graphics - Audio - PWM - HSUART + I2C designware PCI driver + USB XHCI PCI ID + Intel trace Hub[NPK) PCI ID + SPI BXT PCI ID + SCSI UFS BXT PCI host ID + Graphics + Audio + PWM + HSUART Security engine S0ix with trigger path (2) require work as defined below. All the above device drivers need to support runtime PM (already defined in the same LCK above) PCI root port to support runtime PM Both paths will require intel_idle driver support for S0ix support. - 238f9c11351f8af8534ae0318b4d9acc77b09ee8 8aba056a4ea6da18186025a335a96b2f071e69d3 6769fdbe27d782dfee5e459e25b44baacc7c8459 cfb55af9add9c19806300fdb31f4cd25e67c6d1a 4a5861f714293767980e4948c9a7c9e5e09c9b94 2a13096ac7da07a1bfc9d91fc4a982020e7ded2b cd89e92b7399a69512b8d855a2dd145c47399bf8 d6827015e671cd17871c9b7a0fabe06c044f7470 0e68eeea9894feeba2edf7ec63e4551b87f39621 e50af8332785355de3cb40d9f5e8c45dbfc86f53 Target Kernel: 5.1 - Target Release: 19.04 + Target Release: 19.10 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1819413 Title: [ICL] S0ix Enabling To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/intel/+bug/1819413/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 225361] Re: .gvfs can't be stat'd by root causing backup tools to fail
Here is a possible solution. My system - Mint 19.1 x64 Cinnamon - had no .gvfs directory in /run - but it did have one in /home, causing the rclone backup tool to report errors. I discovered (from here: https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/387162-permission-denied-on- gvfs) that I could remove the .gvfs folder thusly: sudo umount /home//.gvfs sudo rm -rf /home//.gvfs (That webpage lists a different method for removing the directory. [Bug 1827824] [NEW] old plasma windows fade occasionally after opening new windows
Public bug reported: I recently upgraded to Kubuntu 19.04 with KDE Plasma 5.15.4 and Qt version 5.12.2 from Kubuntu 18.10 using the system upgrade app. After upgrading, when I open new windows, the old windows will occasionally fade. Moreover, the pop-up menus (for example, the "Other bookmarks" menu in Chromium) may also fade. The screenshots of faded windows and menus are shown in the attachments. The old Kubuntu 18.10 does not have this problem. When I hover my mouse over any icon of an opened app in my icon-only task manager for some time and then move my mouse away, the fading effect disappears. Also, the fading effect when opening new windows seems to be similar to the effect when I hover my mouse on icons in my icon-only task manager. I guess this bug may be related to the preview feature of the task manager. [Bug 1826867] Re: Freeplane Freezes Immediately After Launching It
When I ran freeplane from a terminal window, I noticed this tiny box pop up on one of the three 4K monitors pop up: https://i.imgur.com/TejMgt8.png This screenshot probably looks big to you, but it is tiny on a 4K monitor. This box did not pop up on the same monitor that Freeplane was on. So, what probably happened, is I did not notice it at all the day I submitted this bug. I probably clicked on a window behind this small box and never saw it after that. A box like this ought to pop up in front of the freeplane window, not on another monitor. Just now, while typing in this field, there were a few lags, but the text still displays correctly. ``` jray@fm:~$ inxi -Fxz System:Host: fm Kernel: 4.15.0-48-generic x86_64 bits: 64 gcc: 7.3.0 Desktop: Gnome 3.28.3 (Gtk 3.22.30-1ubuntu3) Distro: Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS Machine: Device: desktop Mobo: ASUSTeK model: TUF B450M-PLUS GAMING v: Rev X.0x serial: N/A UEFI: American Megatrends v: 1002 date: 03/07/2019 CPU: 8 core AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Eight-Core (-MT-MCP-) arch: Zen rev.2 cache: 4096 KB flags: (lm nx sse sse2 sse3 sse4_1 sse4_2 sse4a ssse3 svm) bmips: 59085 clock speeds: max: 3700 MHz 1: 1890 MHz 2: 1886 MHz 3: 1887 MHz 4: 1889 MHz 5: 1888 MHz 6: 2037 MHz 7: 1883 MHz 8: 2185 MHz 9: 1890 MHz 10: 1886 MHz 11: 1880 MHz 12: 1884 MHz 13: 1890 MHz 14: 2176 MHz 15: 2042 MHz 16: 2194 MHz Graphics: Card: NVIDIA Device 1e82 bus-ID: 07:00.0 Display Server: x11 (X.Org 1.19.6 ) drivers: fbdev, nouveau (unloaded: modesetting, vesa) Resolution: 1024x768@76.00hz OpenGL: renderer: llvmpipe (LLVM 7.0, 128 bits) version: 3.3 Mesa 18.2.8 Direct Render: Yes Audio: Card-1 Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] Family 17h (Models 00h-0fh) HD Audio Controller driver: snd_hda_intel bus-ID: 09:00.3 Card-2 NVIDIA Device 10f8 driver: snd_hda_intel bus-ID: 07:00.1 Sound: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture v: k4.15.0-48-generic Network: Card: Realtek RTL8111/8168/8411 PCIE Gigabit Ethernet Controller driver: r8169 v: 2.3LK-NAPI port: f000 bus-ID: 05:00.0 IF: enp5s0 state: up speed: 1000 Mbps duplex: full mac: Drives:HDD Total Size: 500.1GB (14.3% used) ID-1: /dev/nvme0n1 model: Samsung_SSD_970_EVO_Plus_500GB size: 500.1GB Partition: ID-1: / size: 395G used: 5.7G (2%) fs: ext4 dev: /dev/dm-0 ID-2: swap-1 size: 68.65GB used: 0.00GB (0%) fs: swap dev: /dev/dm-1 RAID: No RAID devices: /proc/mdstat, md_mod kernel module present Sensors: System Temperatures: cpu: 27.8C mobo: N/A Fan Speeds (in rpm): cpu: 0 Info: Processes: 380 Uptime: 1:01 Memory: 3488.5/64419.5MB Init: systemd runlevel: 5 Gcc sys: N/A Client: Shell (bash 4.4.191) inxi: 2.3.56 ``` ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 18.04 Package: firefox 66.0.3+build1-0ubuntu0.18.04.1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.15.0-48.51-generic 4.15.18 Uname: Linux 4.15.0-48-generic x86_64 AddonCompatCheckDisabled: False ApportVersion: 2.20.9-0ubuntu7.6 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USERPID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC0: jray 1819 F pulseaudio /dev/snd/controlC1: jray 1819 F pulseaudio BuildID: 20190410105841 Channel: Unavailable CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Mon May 6 11:32:46 2019 ExecutablePath: /usr/lib/firefox/firefox Extensions: extensions.sqlite corrupt or missing ForcedLayersAccel: False IfupdownConfig: # interfaces(5) file used by ifup(8) and ifdown(8) auto lo iface lo inet loopback IncompatibleExtensions: Unavailable (corrupt or non-existant compatibility.ini or extensions.sqlite) InstallationDate: Installed on 2019-05-05 (0 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 17.10 "Artful Aardvark" - Release amd64 (20180105.1) IpRoute: default via 192.168.0.1 dev enp5s0 proto dhcp metric 100 169.254.0.0/16 dev enp5s0 scope link metric 1000 192.168.0.0/24 dev enp5s0 proto kernel scope link src 192.168.0.3 metric 100 Locales: extensions.sqlite corrupt or missing PrefSources: prefs.js ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=en_AU:en PATH=(custom, no user) XDG_RUNTIME_DIR= LANG=en_AU.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash Profiles: Profile0 (Default) - LastVersion=66.0.3/20190410105841 (In use) RunningIncompatibleAddons: False SourcePackage: firefox Themes: extensions.sqlite corrupt or missing UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to bionic on 2019-05-06 (0 days ago) dmi.bios.date: 03/07/2019 dmi.bios.vendor: American Megatrends Inc. dmi.bios.version: 1002 dmi.board.asset.tag: Default string dmi.board.name: TUF B450M-PLUS GAMING dmi.board.vendor: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. dmi.board.version: Rev X.0x dmi.chassis.asset.tag: Default string dmi.chassis.type: 3 dmi.chassis.vendor: Default string dmi.chassis.version: Default string dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnAmericanMegatrendsInc.:bvr1002:bd03/07/2019:svnSystemmanufacturer:pnSystemProductName:pvrSystemVersion:rvnASUSTeKCOMPUTERINC.:rnTUFB450M-PLUSGAMING:rvrRevX.0x:cvnDefaultstring:ct3:cvrDefaultstring: dmi.product.family: To be filled by O.E.M. dmi.product.name: System Product Name dmi.product.version: System Version
