[Bug 1730016] Re: Print screen key does nothing ?

2019-07-08 Thread Arturo Penen Gomez
Hi,

I'm running Ubuntu Budgie 18.04.1 LTS 64-bits, and this happens to me randomly.
None of the combinations works.

PD: I have mapped F10 to tilix quake and doesn't work too, when this
fails.

[Bug 1835863] Re: Screens do not stay off when blanking

2019-07-08 Thread Daniel van Vugt
We will need to find out what is turning the screen on again. To do this
please:

1. Wait until the screen turns off.

2. Wait until the screen turns on again by itself.

3. As soon as the screen turns itself on, run this command in a
terminal:

   journalctl -b0 > curjournal.txt

   and send us the file 'curjournal.txt'.

[Bug 1816396] Re: Starting snap from the after-install notification fails

2019-07-08 Thread Robert Ancell
The cause of this is:
1. You install a snap.
2. GNOME Software generates a notification, with a button that will contact the
GNOME Software process and perform the action "app.launch" with the app ID.
(gs-common.c:gs_app_notify_installed)
3. GNOME Software uses the ID as a desktop ID (i.e. the name of a .desktop
file) to launch the application via the GAppInfo object
(gs-application.c:launch_activated)

Where this fails is G-S is assuming that the application ID matches the
desktop ID. This is best practise for modern XDG compliant apps, but is
not enforced.

This assumption always fails in the general case for Snaps, and the ID
used is a generated AppStream ID like io.snapcraft.moon-buggy-
2kkitQurgOkL3foImG4wDwn9CIANuHlt.

The initial solution was to explicitly pass the desktop ID, but this
seemed a bit of a hack an unlikely to be upstreamable.
https://gitlab.gnome.org/robert.ancell/gnome-software/tree/notification-
launch-desktop-id

The second solution was to continue to pass the ID, but instead to have
plugins do the launching, that way the Snap plugin could work out the
binary to run. https://gitlab.gnome.org/robert.ancell/gnome-
software/tree/notification-launch-plugin

The latter solution turns out to be non-trivial to implement.

[Bug 1570617] Re: [MIR] edk2

2019-07-08 Thread Seth Arnold
Thanks Dann, I believe this package is ready to go from the Security
Team's point of view:

- ubuntu-server is subscribed to bugs, and presumably ready and willing
for triage, testing, etc as needed

- the autopkgtests clearly demonstrate at least simple use of the tool.
More detailed testing help to avoid regressing users would be wonderful,
but this can provide us with a starting point for "this must work" for
preparing updates.

Security team ACK for promoting edk2 to main.

Thanks

 Intel works with periodic releases of the iwlwifi driver that are tested with

[Bug 1835464] Re: nginx service fails after libssl update due to low entropy at boot

2019-07-08 Thread Seth Arnold
I read through Bionic's systemd-random-seed.service source (src/random-
seed/random-seed.c) and didn't see any references to RNDADDTOENTCNT or
RNDADDENTROPY, the ioctl(2)s that are used to indicate to the kernel
that added entropy should be used for the random(4) device. Maybe
they're hidden behind some abstraction layers, but if so, I didn't spot
them.

Does anyone know if this is intentional? Or what reasoning might have
lead to this decision?

Thanks

Hi Ryan

Can you please check the logs for this.. this a rising issue that is
happen quite often from customers i have dealt with.

Tasks Invoked by vCenter when provisioning by the automation tool from
the prepared template

- Clone Virtual Machine from Template
- Reconfigure Virutal Machine
- Customize Virutal Machine Guest OS
- Power on Virtual Machine
During the boot time the network state is disconnected
Waits 5 min on A start job is running for Raise network interfaces
during post then continues to boot
- VMware Customization starts and successful, listed in the VM Events in vCenter
- VM reboots and the network shows as connected now
- IP provied from Static IP Range
- Hostname is Updated
- Cloud config fails to execute in the right order at it seems it ran when
there was no network connectivity and before the vmware customization to

[Bug 1540692] Re: Enable the VirtIO GPU 3D (Virgil)

2019-07-08 Thread Thiago Martins
Hey guys!

This is an awesome version of QEMU and I can use Virgil 3D (vGPU within
QEMU Guests works ok) with the native Linux `radeon` driver.

However, if I try to install the AMDGPU-19.03 drivers, it completely
breaks QEMU!

AMDGPU-19.30:

https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/release-notes/rn-amdgpu-unified-navi-
linux

It breaks QEMU on Ubuntu 18.04.2 + Stein UCA Repo!!!

I also tried the previous AMDGPU versions, same results.

Here is the error after installing amdgpu:

https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/35Mtqrsd3n/

How to repeat:

Here is what I do:

1- Install Ubuntu 18.04.2 (with HWE for Kernel and XOrg);
2- Enable UCA with `sudo add-apt-repository cloud-archive:stein`;
3- Install `qemu-vkm`, `virt-manager`, and etc;
4- You'll be able to create a QEMU Guest using Virgil 3D using the Linux
`radeon` module! It's awesome.
5- Install AMDGPU-19.30 (or any other previous version), for an even more
awesome QEMU? Let's see!
6- No deal, after installing AMDGPU drivers, no more QEMU!

Any idea about how to fix this? Is this an amdgpu limitation? Any idea if QMEU
with Virgil 3D with it someday (or this isn't in the master plan)?

Cheers!

[Bug 1790657] Re: [SRU] amqp-tools server parameter unusable

2019-07-08 Thread Bryce Harrington
** Description changed:

  [Impact]
  The --server and -url parameters do not function as documented, due to an
upstream coding error that was fixed in release 0.8.1.

  [Test Case]
+ $ sudo apt-get -y install librabbitmq-dev
+ $ sudo apt-get -y install amqp-tools
+
+ ### Broken behavior:
+ $ sudo amqp-consume --server=foobar:5672 -q queue cat
+ both --server and --url options specify server host
+
+ ### Fixed behavior:
+ $ sudo amqp-consume --server=foobar:5672 -q queue cat
  TBD

  [Regression Potential]
+ The patch alters C code to change how command line options are processed.
Things to watch for, then, would be mishandling of cli options, or compilation
errors during package build. The changes do not alter input handling at all,
so static testing should give a high degree of confidence of stability. Also,
the alterations are focused on tools, so general operation of librabbitmq
should not be affected in any way by the changes.

  [Fix]
  The upstream patch corrects handling of --server, --url, and other options by
reorganizing the logic flow.

  [Discussion]
  The issue appears not to be a regression from a recent change, but a problem

  The fix should be backported to bionic and probably cosmic. Earlier
  releases are probably also affected but probably only worth doing if the
  patch applies cleanly to them.

  [Original Report]
  The version of amqp-tools in 18.04.1 LTS (and 14.04 iirc) has a bug which
renders parts of the cli unusable:

  https://github.com/alanxz/rabbitmq-c/issues/364

  1) 18.04.1 LTS bionic
  2) 0.8.0-1build1
  3) `amqp-consume --server=foobar:5672 -q queue cat` should work
  4) amqp-consume complains that you cannot use --server and --url together

[Bug 1832087] Re: Intel WIRELESS-AC 9260 (2526:0010) Wi-Fi doesn't work on kernel > 5.0.0-16

2019-07-08 Thread You-Sheng Yang
@phil995511, from your log in comment #35, I think that has the same
result with my comment #30 because 1) wifi seems to work perfectly, and
2) Bluetooth "request failed to create LE connection: status 0x0c" takes
firmware update in bug 1835449.

As for your dmesg log in comment #36 in regard to backport-iwlwifi-dkms,
I don't think you're really using iwlwifi dkms module because there is
no version info printed in dmesg. To make sure that, try `dkms status`
and see if backport-iwlwifi has been listed as installed for current
running kernel version.

By the way, I also noticed following error messages about tsc
clocksource:

  clocksource: timekeeping watchdog on CPU6: Marking clocksource 'tsc' as
unstable because the skew is too large:
  clocksource: 'hpet' wd_now: 1ea65be5 wd_last: 1e28da7d mask:
  clocksource: 'tsc' cs_now: 172ded8864 cs_last: 16ea6ab29a mask:

  tsc: Marking TSC unstable due to clocksource watchdog
  TSC found unstable after boot, most likely due to broken BIOS. Use
'tsc=unstable'.

It's a known issue that we're tracking, and as it suggested, currently
the only solution is to add 'tsc=unstable' to kernel boot parameters.
Would you mind attaching `cat /proc/cpuinfo` so that we may add a record
to the affected CPU models list?

[Bug 1835710] Re: With Marco compositor and either mate or lxqt display is scrambled.

2019-07-08 Thread Robert Dinse
The issue seems to be one of start-up parameters because if I login to
mate, with the screen all scrambled, then do alt+f2 and type in compiz
--replace, and the screen fixes itself, but then go into mate-tweak and
switch back to Marco, everything behaves as expected.

[Bug 1834138] Re: PA: Don't restore the streams to sinks/sources with only unavailable ports

2019-07-08 Thread Hui Wang
Verification done on the Disco, it fixed the problem.

On the lenovo P520, I installed the disco (19.04), edit the
/etc/apt/sources.list to add disco-proposed repository, then run apt-get update
abd sudo apt install pulseaudio, now the pulseaudio is:
ii  pulseaudio   1:12.2-2ubuntu3.1
amd64PulseAudio sound server
ii  pulseaudio-utils 1:12.2-2ubuntu3.1
amd64Command line tools for the PulseAudio sound server

recording: plug a mic into the front audio jack, and select it from
sound-setting, use arecord to record sound, after recording, unplug the
front mic and plug it to rear mic, use arecord to record sound again, it
still can record sound.

playback: plug a headphone to rear lineout and select lineout as output
device, then play sound via totem, after a while, close the totem and
unplug the rear lineout and plug the headphone to front headphone jack,
use totem to play sound, I can hear the sound from front headphone.

I'm still not able to reproduce the error.

If you can provide an exact set of steps to run in an lxc container it'd
help a lot. Here's what I've got so far:

```
I've also experimented with having epmd started or stopped, in various
order with the start/stop of rabbitmq-server, but it always takes only a
second or two to start or stop.  Debian's changes suggest that the bug
is some interrelationship with epmd, but it's unclear from the patch
what exactly that is.
Are there any config settings, architecture specificness, or other
considerations that need taken into account?
[Bug 1728012] Re: Many 3rd party scanner drivers are broken by a sane change
2019-07-08 Thread Gunnar Hjalmarsson
Since I have an old Brother device whose drivers are installed via
brscan2, the proposed change (which adds support for drivers located in
/usr/lib/sane) doesn't really apply to me. But I worked around that.
The general preparations according to comment #232 are there, and in
addition to that I installed the libusb-0.1-4 package. However, I
dropped the ldconfig trick to make .so files in /usr/lib64 shared
libraries.
Now to the workaround. I added some symlinks to pretend that the driver
files are located in /usr/lib and /usr/lib/sane:
$ ls -l /usr/lib/libbr* /usr/lib/sane
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 28 jul  3 21:57 /usr/lib/libbrcolm2.so ->
../lib64/libbrcolm2.so.1.0.1
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 31 jul  3 21:57 /usr/lib/libbrscandec2.so ->
../lib64/libbrscandec2.so.1.0.0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 13 jul  3 21:57 /usr/lib/sane -> ../lib64/sane
With that setup I first tested scanning with the sane-backends packages
in bionic-release. Result (simple-scan):
"No scanners detected"
Then I installed version 1.0.27-1~experimental3ubuntu2.1 of libsane1,
libsane-common, and sane-utils from bionic-proposed. After that I could
scan using either simple-scan or xsane.
[Bug 1728012] Re: Many 3rd party scanner drivers are broken by a sane change
2019-07-08 Thread Brian Murray
Hello PeterPall, or anyone else affected,
Accepted sane-backends into bionic-proposed. The package will build now
and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sane-
backends/1.0.27-1~experimental3ubuntu2.1 in a few hours, and then in the
-proposed repository.
Please help us by testing this new package.  See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed.  Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.
If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested and change the tag from
verification-needed-bionic to verification-done-bionic. If it does not
fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the
tag to verification-failed-bionic. In either case, without details of
your testing we will not be able to proceed.
Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification .  Thank you in
advance for helping!
N.B. The updated package will be released to -updates after the bug(s)
fixed by this package have been verified and the package has been in
-proposed for a minimum of 7 days.
[Bug 1835846] [NEW] include dmsetup in core snaps
2019-07-08 Thread Steve Langasek
Public bug reported:
[Justification]
The dmsetup package includes udev rules that are essential for any system using
device mapper, which includes any system using crypsetup; and we want to
support full-disk encryption in Ubuntu Core.
[Test case]
Do a livefs build test with PROJECT=ubuntu-core SUBPROJECT=system-image
EXTRA_PPAS='snappy-dev/image snappy-dev/edge' IMAGEFORMAT=plain to confirm that
the build succeeds.  All other CI will be handled downstream of the
livecd-rootfs SRU as part of the snap build and publication process.
[Regression potential]
This adds a further package into the core and core16 snaps, which will increase
the size.  The size increase is only marginal (~230KiB uncompressed), but may
still adversely impact some installs by pushing the snap size over some limit.
This also changes the boot-time behavior of udev by introducing new udev
rules.  These rules are well-tested and should only have effect on a
system which is configured to create device-mapper devices, which is not
going to be the case for a stock Ubuntu Core system; however, some risk
of regression exists.
[Bug 1835845] [NEW] Bionic update: upstream stable patchset 2019-07-08
2019-07-08 Thread Kamal Mostafa
Public bug reported:
SRU Justification
Impact:
   The upstream process for stable tree updates is quite similar
   in scope to the Ubuntu SRU process, e.g., each patch has to
   demonstrably fix a bug, and each patch is vetted by upstream
   by originating either directly from a mainline/stable Linux tree or
   a minimally backported form of that patch. The following upstream
   stable patches should be included in the Ubuntu kernel:
[Bug 1835838] [NEW] FTP/SFTP support missing because dar-static was compiled without libcurl support
2019-07-08 Thread Ivan Savcic
Public bug reported:
On Ubuntu Bionic (but using the dar-static package from Disco),
dar_static v2.6.2-1 is compiled without libcurl support which
effectively disables FTP/SFTP support, which is one of the main selling
points of the DAR v2.6 branch
$ dar_static -v -v -v -c ftp://example.org
Final memory cleanup...
Aborting program. The requested operation needs a feature that has been
disabled at compilation time: libcurl library
Please recompile libdar/dar with libcurl enabled and include the
[Bug 1833880] Re: KDE freezes randomly
2019-07-08 Thread Avamander
This has happened like 40 times thus far. It's incredibly disruptive,
just tell me please what more info can I provide to get this fixed?
In the most recent case KDE froze, I restarted it and then kwin just eats 92%
of my CPU. When I did strace of Xorg (I have the file but it's **big**) I first
saw:
```
ioctl(14, DRM_IOCTL_CRTC_QUEUE_SEQUENCE, 0x7fffd7980ea0) = -1 ENOMEM (Cannot
allocate memory)
```
and
```
futex(0x5586c3807040, FUTEX_WAKE_PRIVATE, 1) = 1
writev(7, [{iov_base="#\224\330\4\0\0\0\0\2\0\0\0-\0 \0\26\0 \0C\1\0\0.\0 \0/\0
\0", iov_len=32}], 1) = 32
writev(7, [{iov_base="#\224\330\4\2\0\0\0\1\0\0\0-\0 \0\26\0
\0C\1\0\0\16\177\262\217\23\0\0\0"..., iov_len=40}], 1) $
epoll_wait(3, [{EPOLLIN, {u32=3285958304, u64=94037299936928}}, {EPOLLIN,
{u32=3287010464, u64=94037300989088}}], 256$
recvmsg(45, {msg_name=NULL, msg_namelen=0,
msg_iov=[{iov_base="\224\1\22\0\26\0\300\1\35\0\300\1\2\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\$
ioctl(14, DRM_IOCTL_CRTC_GET_SEQUENCE, 0x7fffd7980ee0) = 0
ioctl(14, DRM_IOCTL_MODE_ADDFB, 0x7fffd7980d20) = 0
ioctl(14, DRM_IOCTL_MODE_PAGE_FLIP, 0x7fffd7980e00) = -1 ENOMEM (Cannot
allocate memory)
poll([{fd=14, events=POLLIN}], 1, 0)= 0 (Timeout)
write(4, "[ 84302.173] ", 13)   = 13
write(4, "(WW) modeset(0): flip queue fail"..., 59) = 59
ioctl(14, DRM_IOCTL_MODE_RMFB, 0x7fffd7980e1c) = 0
write(4, "[ 84302.174] ", 13)   = 13
write(4, "(WW) modeset(0): Page flip faile"..., 58) = 58
write(4, "[ 84302.174] ", 13)   = 13
write(4, "(EE) modeset(0): present flip fa"..., 37) = 37
```
I rose limits with ulimit just to see what happens (because I had ~4GB
actually free RAM), all the "(Cannot allocate memory)" errors
disappeared, however then it started spamming (and I stopped stracing
it):
```
ioctl(18, DRM_IOCTL_RADEON_GEM_BUSY, 0x7fffd7980470) = 0
ioctl(18, DRM_IOCTL_RADEON_GEM_BUSY, 0x7fffd7980470) = 0
ioctl(18, DRM_IOCTL_RADEON_GEM_BUSY, 0x7fffd7980470) = 0
ioctl(18, DRM_IOCTL_RADEON_GEM_BUSY, 0x7fffd7980470) = 0
```
It took like ten minutes of just using the PC and then suddenly it
seemed to stop hogging CPU.
[Bug 1833740] Re: [SRU] Option in ubuntustudio-installer pulling-in gdm3
2019-07-08 Thread Erich Eickmeyer
Brian, the verification is simple:
1. Open ubuntustudio-installer
2. Check to see if ubuntustudio-gnome-branding is an option for installation.
  - if NO, verification-done
  - if YES, bug still exists
I made the change in the description to outline that. Since there still
seems to be confusion, I have further updated it.
** Description changed:
  [Impact]
   * Users of desktops other than GNOME are erroneously installing
  "ubuntustudio-gnome-branding" from the package selection, causing gdm3
  and all of gnome-shell to be pulled-in as dependencies. Users of
  desktops other than GNOME, especially if new to Linux, don't know any
  better and select it regardless.
   * While pulling-in and configuring gdm3, dpkg waits for the user to
  select between gdm3 and an already-installed DM, such as lightdm or
  sddm.
   * This upload fixes this by eliminating the "ubuntustudio-gnome-
  branding" from the selection.
  [Test Case]
   * Using any flavor other than Ubuntu proper (i.e. the GNOME) desktop,
  install and run ubuntustudio-installer, selecting "ubuntustudio-gnome-
  branding" as an option. Click the "Install" button.
   * Installer will hang while awaiting DM selection instructions from the
  user, but are not available due to the way Ubuntu Studio Installer's
  tk/tcl script functions (does not present a selection dialog).
-  * New version does not include "ubuntustudio-gnome-branding" as a
+  * New version does not include "ubuntustudio-gnome-branding" as a
  selection, so test case for new version should no longer show
  "ubuntustudio-gnome-branding" as a selection.
+
+   1. Open ubuntustudio-installer
+   2. Check to see if ubuntustudio-gnome-branding is an option for
+  installation.
+   - if NO, verification-done
+   - if YES, bug still exists
  [Regression Potential]
   * Since nothing depends on ubuntustudio-installer to run functionally,
  there is no regression potential.
  [Other Info]
   * This was not done originally as it was thought that users would
  actually read the description of the package explaining that it's for
  the default GNOME desktop only. Unfortunately, questions on
  askubuntu.com and in the IRC chat room have appeared with this very
  issue.
[Bug 1833740] Re: [SRU] Option in ubuntustudio-installer pulling-in gdm3
2019-07-08 Thread Brian Murray
Comment #5 seems to be about what the test case is rather than verifying
that the upload in -proposed works. Could you add some information about
the verification process that lead to the tag being changed to
verification-done-disco? Thanks!
[Bug 1741977] Re: Scanning fails with many Samsung multifunctions (SCX-3200, SCX-3400, CLX-6260) after upgrading to Ubuntu 17.10/18.04 (SANE_USB_WORKAROUND=1 needed)
2019-07-08 Thread Gunnar Hjalmarsson
@Reinhard: The upgrade to 1.0.27 in Ubuntu came with several concurrent
issues:
- The USB3 issue (which this bug is about)
- The confusion caused by package renaming
- Broken support for drivers installed in /usr/lib/sane
The latter issue is fixed in Ubuntu 19.04, and is about to be fixed in
18.04 (bug #1728012).
[Bug 1274908] Re: Consider adding a 'semi automatic' audio change switch to HDMI input.
2019-07-08 Thread John Levon
Is this just a bug?
Here is the pulseaudio debug I get when inserting my HDMI cable. It can be seen
it's *trying* to switch over, but the lack of profile? is causing the issue.
4.15.0-54-generic kernel, Ubuntu 18.04, pulseaudio 1:11.1-1ubuntu7.2
An explicit 'pactl set-card-profile 0 output:hdmi-stereo-extra1' works.
Some race issue with setup?
** Description changed:
- Security and MIR reviews have been completed for xdg-desktop-portal-
is low as nothing in the default desktop install actually exercises the portals
at this time.  We need to seed the portals so they are available when snaps are
[Bug 1835809] Re: AMD Ryzen 3000 series fails to boot
2019-07-08 Thread Adam Conrad
FWIW, I think not booting a 19.04 ISO is probably fine, and it's not
worth spinning a point release for this.  "I can't install a 9mo release
on this hardware" is unforunate, but not world-ending.
However, we should definitely SRU this for people who are likely to take
their EXISTING 19.04 system with a Ryzen 1xxx/2xxx and drop in a 3xxx
and find it doesn't boot anymore.  Also, obviously, we should make sure
it's fixed for 19.10.
[Bug 1825587] Re: non-existent temporary desktop file appears on desktop
2019-07-08 Thread Walter Lapchynski
Using an upgraded 19.04 system, I enabled proposed and upgraded libfm-
qt6 to 0.14.1-0ubuntu2.1. The change does not take affect immediately,
but does after stopping and restarting pcmanfm-qt. That can also be
accomplished by logging out and back in or by restarting.
That said, it clearly does not require any no-change rebuild of pcmanfm-
qt so that comment in the regression potential was merely being cautious
based on previous experience. It is true that this doesn't change the
ABI so the statement is irrelevant.
Re: [Bug 1220146] Re: Ralink Mediatek 14c3:7630 wi-fi card isn't supported out of the box
2019-07-08 Thread Ievgen
I feel like I have to share my experience with this WiFi adapter and
ubuntu. I'm in this thread for a few years. In the beginning, I tried
everything, all permutations of kernel versions and driver versions and
sometimes it worked a little better than not working at all, sometimes it
was working but dead slow, but in any way after the next software update,
you would have to start this journey again. Bluetooth never worked
properly. Almost always, nothing was stable. It was like I was spending
days trying to hack the system and make basic vital things work, despite
the fact I spent quite some money on my Ubuntu-based laptop.
Then I gave up and, after googling a lot, I bought another WiFi module
Intel 7620. WiFi was finally stable. Bluetooth never was stable either
though, so I didn't use it and by that time I was just happy to have a
stable WiFi. But after each software update, I held my breath and rechecked
if it still works properly and not lagging at 1MBpS speed. As to Bluetooth
- you can still forget about it.
This is my advice: if you need everything to work properly and stable, and
you need the same Unix eco-system for work\programming (or just because you
like it), my advice - just buy Mac next time you will be upgrading your
hardware. Unfortunately, that's the only way to have Unix-based user
machine (not talking about servers) with working hardware and peripherals.
Ubuntu's driver's system has a major flaw in design because of its hard
dependency on kernel versions. That's why this will *always* happen -
broken drivers, unstable devices etc etc with every update. And that's why
hardware manufacturers don't produce linux drivers much - it's just too
expensive to maintain and redevelop them for each combination of kernel\OS
versions you have.
TLDR: Unfortunately, this is the endless problem you will ALWAYS have in
linux, not just with this WiFi module. No matter how hard the community or
manufacturers commit to Linux's driver's base. If you want a proper
Unix-based system with stable hardware and peripherals, buy Mac and ditch
Ubuntu. Unless you are getting fun digging into kernels and hacking the OS
on a regular basis.
[Bug 1835814] Re: Installing 14.04 LTS on a new nVME drive (120 GB SSD)
2019-07-08 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We noticed that you were installing the LTS version of
Ubuntu using an older version of the installation media.  The latest
point release of 14.04 is 14.04.5. Please try installing from that
version of the installation media and see if that resolves your issue.
Thanks in advance!
I wonder if this is the same issue as in bug 1814611 where the reporter
had to "enable the error reporting switch in system settings/privacy
protection". Do you have error reporting disabled?  Thanks in advance.
[Bug 39328] Re: Disable scrolling on window list to flip through windows
2019-07-08 Thread James Hanks
I have the problem on desktop too. The slightest accidental touch of the
mouswheel while moving across the taskbar sends me zipping through
windows. I could slow down the scroll speed, but then scrolling through
a document would be slower than desired. I basically dont want my mouse
wheel to do anything except scroll through windows unless a key is held
down (like for zooming).
