[Bug 1829620] Re: intel-microcode on ASUS makes kernel stuck during loading initramfs on bionic-updates, bionic-security

2019-07-13 Thread Marcus Aurelius
I'm affected by this too. I have a Dell Inspiron 5480 with an i7-8565U
CPU.

The problem happens after the first batch of updates on a fresh install
of Ubuntu Budgie 18.04.2 or Mint 19.1.

Thankfully, adding dis_ucode_ldr works, but finding this workaround on
the web was not easy!

[Bug 1581321] Re: Lubuntu 16.04 Cannot connect to WiFi

2019-07-13 Thread Chris Guiver
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all
reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many changes in Ubuntu since
that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some
of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test it on a currently
supported Ubuntu version. When you test it and it is still an issue, kindly
upload the updated logs by running only once:
apport-collect

and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.

Examining the information you have given us, this does not appear to be a bug
report so we are closing it and it probably should have been logged as a
question in the support tracker. We understand the difficulties you are facing,
but it is better to raise problems you are having in the support tracker at
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are uncertain if they are bugs. You
can also find help with your problem in the support forum of your local Ubuntu
community http://loco.ubuntu.com/ or asking at https://askubuntu.com or
https://ubuntuforums.org. For help on reporting bugs, see
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs.

Questions don't need to be confirmed by other users, and get faster
responses.

Lubuntu replaced LXDE with LXQt for the Lubuntu 18.10 release. LXDE is
mostly unsupported as many devs moved to LXQt, so this bug report seems
legacy to me, and would need adapting to the modern work used by
Lubuntu.

[Bug 1411556] Re: Gnome Accessibility Bus unconfigured without corresponding declaration

[Bug 1822866] Re: package sendmail-bin 8.15.2-12 failed to install/upgrade: installed sendmail-bin package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 2

2019-07-13 Thread C. Jeffery Small
Just adding another voice to this thread. I had the same problem during
the upgrade. The failure for sendmail-bin to properly configure caused
the sensible-mta, dovecot-core and inn2 packages to all fail to properly
update due to dependency problems. Thanks to Mirko above, who suggested
a solution. Stopping the sendmail service and running "apt install -f"
allowed the configuration to complete.

In case it is any help, here are the relevant log messages:

[Bug 1208582] Re: [Lubuntu 13.10] Wrong GPG-Key at openprinting.org

2019-07-13 Thread Chris Guiver
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all
reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many changes in Ubuntu since
that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some
of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test it on a currently
supported Ubuntu version. When you test it and it is still an issue, kindly
upload the updated logs by running only once:
apport-collect

and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.

[Bug 1133452] Re: DE messed up since computer ran out of battery mid-use

2019-07-13 Thread Chris Guiver
Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does
not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and though it could
have been converted to a question in the support tracker. We understand
the difficulties you are facing, but it is better to raise problems you
are having in the support tracker at
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are uncertain if they are
bugs. You can also find help with your problem in the support forum of
your local Ubuntu community http://loco.ubuntu.com/ or asking at
https://askubuntu.com or https://ubuntuforums.org. For help on reporting
bugs, see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs.

With a forced-shutdown (ie. power dies) it's common to need a `fsck`
(file-system check) which I usually perform using 'live' media (eg.
Ubuntu/Lubuntu install media), then on reboot usually everything is back
to normal. You would have likely got this advise quickly if you'd asked
a question, instead of reporting it as a bug. I'm marking it invalid
due to age today.

[Bug 1166702] Re: LXPanel unusual navigation behaviour with maximised windows and multiple viewports

Unfortunately, 17.10 has long since reached end of life. If the bug is still
relevant, please execute the following command only once, as it will
automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal:
apport-collect BUGNUMBER

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make

[Bug 1776616] Re: Ubuntu 18.04 getting stuck at "Starting Reboot" and "Starting Power-Off"

2019-07-13 Thread Hey!
This is also happening on Fedora 30

Strangely, when Ubuntu is started on recovery mode/root option, the
reboot and poweroff command works perfectly.

[Bug 1836467] [NEW] Bluetooth fails with "Bluetooth: hci0: request failed to create LE connection: status 0x0c" message with Kernel 4.20 and up

2019-07-13 Thread Warren Baird
Public bug reported:

This is similar to https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1829737 - however the
issue was not fixed by linux-firmware 1.173.8 so I was advised to log a
new bug.

I have an ASUS ZenBook 14 - UX433FA - which based on this -
https://www.notebookcheck.net/ASUS-ZenBook-14-UX433FA-Core-i5-8265U-SSD-FHD-Laptop-Review.403541.0.html
 - I believe has an Intel 9560 chipset (I am not sure how to independently
verify this).
With kernels older than 4.20 I can successfully pair my bluetooth mouse
(Logitech MX Master) - but with newer kernels I get "Bluetooth: hci0: request
failed to create LE connection: status 0x0c" messages.

I'm running Linux Mint 19.1

I tried installing linux-firmware 1.173.8, and it didn't seem to help -
I also downloaded 1.173.9 proposed from here:
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/bionic/amd64/linux-firmware/1.173.9 and
that also didn't seem to help.

Both after a cold reboot and a warm reboot I see
[ 14.724438] Bluetooth: hci0: Firmware revision 0.1 build 201 week 49 2017

in my dmesg output.

Bluetooth works just fine with earlier kernels (however other aspects of
the laptop like suspend don't work as well, which is why I'm trying the
newer kernel.

[Bug 976654] Re: Let users disable/enable hibernation from the system settings

Like Xubuntu, I don't see much value in having a Lubuntu-specific policy
rather than inheriting the one from Ubuntu proper.
