Re: [Bug 1839637] Re: Display driver missing

2019-08-13 Thread Jiju Poonkottal Thambi
Dear Sir,
I followed the procedure but when searched for the text file for forwarding, I
could not locate it. Later I rebooted the system and did a memory check. I
aborted the memory check after a few minutes but upon reboot, when it came to
normal mode, I could see things working as normal including display.
Thanks for your support.
Regards

 Please:

1. Switch out of recovery mode and boot normally so as to reproduce the
bug.

2. Reboot again into recovery mode and then run:

  journalctl -b-1 > preboot.txt

and then attach the file 'prevboot.txt' here.

[Bug 1837897] Re: xtables-addons 3.2-1ubuntu2 ADT test failure with linux 5.3.0-0.1

2019-08-13 Thread Tyler Hicks
Hi Paolo - There's a recent upstream merge request that I think gets the
write_len value correct. I don't think your patch species a large enough
write_len. Here's the merge request:

 https://sourceforge.net/p/xtables-addons/xtables-addons/merge-
requests/13/

I think that we want a mixture of your patch's compile-time conditional
with that merge request's write_len calculation. Do you agree? If so,
can you attach a new debdiff?

[Bug 1523100] Re: Alsa not detecting internal microphone [ALC255] (Realtek)

2019-08-13 Thread Hui Wang
According to #82, that deb was not installed successfully.

This is probably because you enabled secure boot in the BIOS or boot the
signed kernel. Could you change to use the unsigned kernel (#79), maybe
disable the secure boot in the BIOS, then you could load the unsigned
kernel.

[Bug 1429030] Re: netboot mini.iso doesn't support UEFI boot

2019-08-13 Thread Cslycord
>The netboot installer is not the same thing as the mini.iso. The download
>page refers to "Network installer". Nowhere does it reference the mini.iso,
>which is clearly not being booted over the network.

If this is true, then the documentation is confusing.

The "network installer" links take you to a netboot page and from there
you choose which architechure you're using. The mini.iso file resides
inside this netboot subdirectory.

So, it's not surprising that someone might think that "network
installer" and "netboot" are the same.

To make it clear about this:
1) Go to https://ubuntu.com/download/alternative-downloads
2) Click on of the "Download the network installer for (x)" links
3) This will then take you the netboot page. Ex: 19.04 link ->
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/netboot/19.04/
4) Now, you click on the architechure you want. I'll show for amd64

You'll see a listing of files like:
[ICO] NameLast modified Size
[PARENTDIR] Parent Directory-
[ ] boot.img.gz 2019-04-16 08:2455M
[ ] ldlinux.c32 2019-04-16 08:24113K
[ ] mini.iso2019-04-16 08:2468M
[ ] netboot.tar.gz 2019-04-16 08:2455M
[ ] pxelinux.0 2019-04-16 08:2441K
[DIR] pxelinux.cfg/ 2019-04-16 08:24-
[DIR] ubuntu-installer/ 2019-04-16 08:24-
[DIR] xen/2019-04-16 08:24-

So, again network installer -> netboot -> netboot-ARCH-subdir ->
mini.iso
