[Bug 1844897] [NEW] wifi icon has question mark in it even though network is fine
Public bug reported: After experiencing some "turbulence" in my wifi (I rebooted my primary wifi router, which caused my laptop to fallback onto a secondary access point which didn't have full connectivity until the primary router finished rebooting, then I rebooted the primary router a second time), the wifi icon in my top bar stayed as the question-mark icon (i.e., the icon that shows when Network Manager doesn't think you have full connectivity) even after everything was back up and in fact my connectivity was fine. Turning wifi off and back on did not cause the question mark to go away. Restarting Network Manager did not cause the question mark to go away. Switching to a different wifi network and then back to the previous one didn't cause the question mark to go away. I had to reboot my laptop to get the question mark to go away. [Bug 1844894] [NEW] docker doesn’t start in bionic (Unit docker.service is masked), if previously installed+removed in xenial
Public bug reported: If I install docker.io on xenial, remove it, upgrade to bionic, and install it again, then the docker service doesn’t start. This is because the xenial docker.io postrm left docker.service and docker.socket masked (via an autogenerated deb-systemd-helper snippet), and the bionic docker.io postinst only unmasks docker.socket. [Bug 1835738] Re: SRU: Update Python interpreter to 3.6.9 and 3.7.4
I am not sure if this is the place to report this, but I cannot think of a better one to attract Mathias' attention, sorry. Four python3.6 packages (and likely also python3.7 and python3.8) currently available in the ubuntu-toolchain-r PPA have an unmet version dependency on the 'python3' package. As Kubuntu disco/eoan ships with Version 4.10.2/3 there is no longer the possibility to change the backend between gstreamer and vlc other than only installing one of these backends (not that big of a problem) and you can no longer prioritize the outputs (like internal soundcard over hdmi) which leads in my case after a reboot always to default to hdmi instead of the soundcard. [Bug 1739505] Re: [SRU] segfault on simple script that involves eval
** Description changed: + [Impact] + * local C shell scripts using 'eval' will fail + * Components of some proprietary software e.g. ANSYS, ABAQUS fail to start without indicating an error + + [Test Case] + $ sudo apt install csh + $ bsd-csh -f -c 'eval date' + + [Regression Potential] + Upstream committed the following to fix a warning with GGC 7: + https://github.com/openbsd/src/commit/bdb0dae40883d5ece068eedacc14aec0faed5dff + This warning had been incorrectly fixed in csh/20110502-3 and introduced the segfault. + + - + the following line in Ubuntu 17.10 (but most likely before as well as the package hasn't been updated since 2011): eval set val = '$'hello gives the following results: * /bin/tcsh: hello: Undefined variable. * /bin/bsd-csh: Segmentation fault (core dumped) Given that bsd-csh is determined as system default if both bsd-csh and tcsh are present on the system, it would be helpful if this worked. [Bug 1840328] Re: Regression in overlayfs between 4.4.0-157 and 4.4.0-159
I can confirm this bug with overlayfs on top of tmpfs, I think it happens when a program does fsetxattr on a file. I was able to reproduce it with sed which uses setxattr when it creates a new file, the shell does not do this when creating a file and does not trigger the bug. `touch /tmp/foo; sed -i '' /tmp/foo; cat /tmp/foo` results in EACCES from open(2) in cat(1). sed: fsetxattr(4, "system.posix_acl_access", "\2\0\0\0\1\0\6\0\377\377\377\377\4\0\4\0\377\377\377\377 \0\4\0\377\377\377\377", 28, 0) = 0 cat: open("/tmp/foo", O_RDONLY) = -1 EACCES (Permission denied) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1840328 Title: Regression in overlayfs between 4.4.0-157 and 4.4.0-159 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1840328/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1368402]
Sorry for the delayed response, Olivier. Solved/Workaround found 1. I set "reverse scrolling enabled" in touchpad settings 2. I removed "xserver-xorg-input-synaptics" This is the step I had not done earlier. 3. I ran xinput --set-int-prop DEVICE_ID "libinput Natural Scrolling Enabled" 8 1 4. Restarted the system Now all applications have natural scrolling.
