[Bug 1852701] [NEW] Authentication error after switching users

2019-11-14 Thread moreje
Public bug reported:

I have multiple users on my Ubuntu machine.
When another user than me uses its account, and then I switch back to mine, I
get a prompt :Authentication needed to refresh the system repositories
at this point my password (I am admin/sudo) is always rejected.
if I cancel it asks again for authentication.
Nothing is accesible while this prompt is present.
I've noticed that a workaround is to cancel multiple times (sometimes 2,
sometimes +50 !), the system becomes progressively available.
This was already present in my previous releases (19.04 / 18/10, ...)

Do you have a pointer where to start for building/bisecting this?

[Bug 1852696] [NEW] pinentry does not work for both desktop login and SSH login

2019-11-14 Thread Jeffrey Walton
Public bug reported:

I'm working on a Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS x86_64 machine (fully patched). The
machine has a GNOME3 desktop. Sometimes I sit at the workstation, and
other times I SSH into the workstation.

When sitting at the workstation Git commit signing works. I use 'git
commit -S ... -m ...', and things work as expected. I get a UI prompt
for my GnuPG password and the work flows as usual.

When I work remotely on the same workstation over SSH I have to forgo
commit signing because:

   $ git commit -S log.h -m "Remove unneeded header"
   error: gpg failed to sign the data
   fatal: failed to write commit object

I'm using a "standard" configuration for SSH, Git and GnuPG. I am not
aware of any special configurations for this setup. However, the repo is
located on my local LAN (and not GitHub, GitLab, etc):

   $ cat .git/config
   [core]
   repositoryformatversion = 0
   filemode = true
   bare = false
   logallrefupdates = true
[remote "origin"]
   url = ssh://git@callmaster:/var/callboot-src
   fetch = +refs/heads/*:refs/remotes/origin/*
   [branch "master"]
   remote = origin
   merge = refs/heads/master

There is no specialized GnuPG conf file in $HOME/.gnupg:

   $ ls -A ~/.gnupg/
   3F537D88ADBC1677-private-key.asc  pubring.kbx
   private-keys-v1.d trustdb.gpg

Here is pinentry on the machine:

   $ ls -Al /usr/bin/pinentry-*
   -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 63992 Feb  5  2018 /usr/bin/pinentry-curses
   -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 72184 Feb  5  2018 /usr/bin/pinentry-gnome3
   lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root30 Sep  2 19:14 /usr/bin/pinentry-x11 ->
/etc/alternatives/pinentry-x11

And then:

   $ ls -Al /etc/alternatives/pinentry-*
   lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 24 Sep  2 19:14 /etc/alternatives/pinentry-x11 ->
/usr/bin/pinentry-gnome3
   lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 40 Sep  2 19:14 /etc/alternatives/pinentry-x11.1.gz
-> /usr/share/man/man1/pinentry-gnome3.1.gz

My .bashrc includes:

   export GPG_TTY=$(tty)

Search is finding a lot about Git signing failures, but not results for
this particular situation. I have to turn the problem over to the
maintainers since I can't figure it out.

What users like me expect is, things just work regardless of how we are
logged in.

[Bug 1852694] [NEW] Night Light stuck on Wayland

2019-11-14 Thread Guillaume Michaud
Public bug reported:

Gnome Night Light stopped working correctly in the Wayland session with
standard Ubuntu.
Night Light does not switch on automatically. I can't switch it on manyally
either (the toggle works well, but the screen doesn't change).
If I log off and log on to an X-Server session, Night Lights works again
normally. For example, it turns on at night - but then stays on all day (even
if the applet disappears as expected) when I go back to my Wayland session.

[Bug 1768855] Re: ufraw-batch in bionic segfault

2019-11-14 Thread Eugene Romanenko
I just installed debian packages ufraw-batch 0.22-4 and libjpeg62-turbo
as suggested in #17. All works. Sure, it's possible in Ubuntu 19.10
also.

Yet, here is new nufraw, which may be used while ufraw development has
ceased.

"I suggest finding a different application, such as darktable" - I
think, subject package, ufraw-batch, mostly used not for for raw
development, but for generating thumbnails for raw files and batch
extracting embedded jpeg previews from raws.

[Bug 1788098] Re: Avoid migration issues with aligned 2MB THB

2019-11-14 Thread Frank Heimes
Hi Leonardo, yes that's correct.
Focus was changed in the way to make sure that everything is in 19.10, to be
well prepared for 20.04 - and 18.04 (GA kernel 4.15) is not targeted
(nevertheless 18.04 HWE kernel incl. the patches).
(All according to LP comment #66.)

[Bug 1852691] [NEW] Disable touchscreen gesture

2019-11-14 Thread Cyrus Lien
Public bug reported:

[Impact]
Wacom touchscreen doesn't works well when in-driver gesture was enabled (lp:
1774242), the issue can be fixed by disabling in-driver gestures for
touchscreens.

Config file that instructs driver to disable in-driver gestures for
touchscreens:
# Prevent the Wacom driver from providing its own gestures for
# touchscreen devices.
#
Section "InputClass"
Identifier "Wacom touchscreen gestures"
MatchDriver "wacom"
MatchIsTouchscreen "true"
Option "Gesture" "off"
EndSection

[Test Case]
1) Enable the bionic-proposed repository, and install the xf86-input-wacom
package
2) Restart and see if the Wacom touchscreen multi-touch gestures (2-finger
zoom/rotate and 3+ finger gestures) work as desired. Also check
/var/log/Xorg.0.log to see if Wacom touchscreen using wacom driver instead
libinput driver.

[Regression Potential]
Low

[Bug 1852679] [NEW] CLI to copy to clipboard does not work

2019-11-14 Thread thefuzz4
Public bug reported:

I just upgraded today to 19.10. I have a keyboard shortcut setup to run
gnome-screenshot --area -c to allow me to do quick screen grabs. I can confirm
that if I use the screenshot dialog I can copy to the clipboard with that but
using the CLI version of the same function does not work.
It looks like it functions normal but when you go to paste the screenshot that
you just took, nothing happens.

Hi Johan,
thanks for reporting this, it appears that the patch here has already been
applied into Disco / Eoan, you can check if the proposed kernel can fix the
issue for you.

I will mark this one as a duplicate of bug 1850443, please feel free to revert
it if you think this is not right.
Thanks

[Bug 1809269] Re: usbguard-applet-qt: started immediately leaving the user without mouse or keyboard

2019-11-14 Thread VanillaMozilla
This appears to be fixed for usbguard/0.7.4+ds-1, but not for earlier
versions, including Bionic (see
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/usbguard ).

If necessary, as it appears to be, I request a backport to Bionic. If
I'm not mistaken, it looks like a simple fix.

I think the more files you already have in the folder the higher the
chance that another new file will trigger the bug. The more time it
needs to sort the list the more time for the race condition to occur,
and each new file is another shot.

[Bug 1852677] [NEW] sbuild focal python3 import errors

2019-11-14 Thread Chad Smith
Public bug reported:

In trying to sbuild from a changes file on Focal, I believe I'm hitting
an import error due to only having python3 modules for ubuntutool.misc
on Focal.

csmith@downtown:/tmp/cloud-init (ubuntu/devel)$ python3 -c 'from
ubuntutools.misc import host_architecture'
csmith@downtown:/tmp/cloud-init (ubuntu/devel)$ python -c 'from
ubuntutools.misc import host_architecture'
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "", line 1, in
ImportError: No module named ubuntutools.misc

Shall we look at making sbuild python3 compatible? there are no python 2
packages for ubuntutools:
$ rmadison python-ubuntutools
 python-ubuntutools | 0.155| xenial/universe | all
 python-ubuntutools | 0.155ubuntu2 | xenial-updates/universe | all
 python-ubuntutools | 0.164| bionic/universe | all
 python-ubuntutools | 0.166| disco/universe  | all
 python-ubuntutools | 0.173ubuntu1 | eoan/universe   | all

$ rmadison python3-ubuntutools
 python3-ubuntutools | 0.155| xenial/universe | all

 python3-ubuntutools | 0.164| bionic/universe | all

 python3-ubuntutools | 0.173ubuntu1 | eoan/universe   | all
 python3-ubuntutools | 0.174| focal/universe  | all

Only the attached patch was needed to get my sbuild working on focal:
https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/r2tsbjGvhp/

Without the patch for python3, I hit the following errors:

[Bug 1846181] Re: [SRU] 2.42.1

2019-11-14 Thread Steve Langasek
Hello Michael, or anyone else affected,

Accepted snapd into disco-proposed. The package will build now and be
available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/snapd/2.42.1+19.04 in
a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested and change the tag from
verification-needed-disco to verification-done-disco. If it does not fix
the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag
to verification-failed-disco. In either case, without details of your
testing we will not be able to proceed.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification .  Thank you in
advance for helping!

N.B. The updated package will be released to -updates after the bug(s)
fixed by this package have been verified and the package has been in
-proposed for a minimum of 7 days.
