[Bug 1852701] [NEW] Authentication error after switching users
Public bug reported: I have multiple users on my Ubuntu machine. When another user than me uses its account, and then I switch back to mine, I get a prompt :Authentication needed to refresh the system repositories at this point my password (I am admin/sudo) is always rejected. if I cancel it asks again for authentication. Nothing is accesible while this prompt is present. I've noticed that a workaround is to cancel multiple times (sometimes 2, sometimes +50 !), the system becomes progressively available. This was already present in my previous releases (19.04 / 18/10, ...) [Bug 1852696] [NEW] pinentry does not work for both desktop login and SSH login
Public bug reported: I'm working on a Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS x86_64 machine (fully patched). The machine has a GNOME3 desktop. Sometimes I sit at the workstation, and other times I SSH into the workstation. When sitting at the workstation Git commit signing works. I use 'git commit -S ... -m ...', and things work as expected. I get a UI prompt for my GnuPG password and the work flows as usual. When I work remotely on the same workstation over SSH I have to forgo commit signing because: $ git commit -S log.h -m "Remove unneeded header" error: gpg failed to sign the data fatal: failed to write commit object I'm using a "standard" configuration for SSH, Git and GnuPG. I am not aware of any special configurations for this setup. However, the repo is located on my local LAN (and not GitHub, GitLab, etc): $ cat .git/config [core] repositoryformatversion = 0 filemode = true bare = false logallrefupdates = true [remote "origin"] url = ssh://git@callmaster:/var/callboot-src fetch = +refs/heads/*:refs/remotes/origin/* [branch "master"] remote = origin merge = refs/heads/master There is no specialized GnuPG conf file in $HOME/.gnupg: $ ls -A ~/.gnupg/ 3F537D88ADBC1677-private-key.asc pubring.kbx private-keys-v1.d trustdb.gpg Here is pinentry on the machine: $ ls -Al /usr/bin/pinentry-* -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 63992 Feb 5 2018 /usr/bin/pinentry-curses -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 72184 Feb 5 2018 /usr/bin/pinentry-gnome3 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root30 Sep 2 19:14 /usr/bin/pinentry-x11 -> /etc/alternatives/pinentry-x11 And then: $ ls -Al /etc/alternatives/pinentry-* lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 24 Sep 2 19:14 /etc/alternatives/pinentry-x11 -> /usr/bin/pinentry-gnome3 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 40 Sep 2 19:14 /etc/alternatives/pinentry-x11.1.gz -> /usr/share/man/man1/pinentry-gnome3.1.gz My .bashrc includes: export GPG_TTY=$(tty) Search is finding a lot about Git signing failures, but not results for this particular situation. I have to turn the problem over to the maintainers since I can't figure it out. [Bug 1852694] [NEW] Night Light stuck on Wayland
Public bug reported: Gnome Night Light stopped working correctly in the Wayland session with standard Ubuntu. Night Light does not switch on automatically. I can't switch it on manyally either (the toggle works well, but the screen doesn't change). If I log off and log on to an X-Server session, Night Lights works again normally. For example, it turns on at night - but then stays on all day (even if the applet disappears as expected) when I go back to my Wayland session. [Bug 1846181] Re: [SRU] 2.42.1
Hello Michael, or anyone else affected, Accepted snapd into disco-proposed. The package will build now and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/snapd/2.42.1+19.04 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository. Please help us by testing this new package. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update out to other Ubuntu users. If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug, mentioning the version of the package you tested and change the tag from verification-needed-disco to verification-done-disco. If it does not fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-failed-disco. In either case, without details of your testing we will not be able to proceed. Further information regarding the verification process can be found at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in advance for helping! N.B. The updated package will be released to -updates after the bug(s) fixed by this package have been verified and the package has been in -proposed for a minimum of 7 days. ** Changed in: snapd (Ubuntu Disco) Status: New => Fix Committed ** Tags added: verification-needed verification-needed-disco -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1846181 Title: [SRU] 2.42.1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/snapd/+bug/1846181/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
