[Bug 1862734] Please test proposed package

2020-02-27 Thread Timo Aaltonen
Hello You-Sheng, or anyone else affected,

Accepted linux-firmware into bionic-proposed. The package will build now
and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-
firmware/1.173.16 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested and change the tag from
verification-needed-bionic to verification-done-bionic. If it does not
fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the
tag to verification-failed-bionic. In either case, without details of
your testing we will not be able to proceed.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance for helping!

N.B. The updated package will be released to -updates after the bug(s)
fixed by this package have been verified and the package has been in
-proposed for a minimum of 7 days.

[Bug 1863759] Re: CPUs stuck during boot after 19.10 upgrade to 5.3.0-40

2020-02-27 Thread Ron Bentley
I am joining the chorus only to confirm this seems to be related to a
specific set of hardware. I got the same result on an Acer Aspire 5,
AMD Ryzen 3 3200U with Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx: 5.3.0-40 fails to boot
(or fails to boot to the full graphical login) and 5.3.0-29 continues to
work just fine.

[Bug 1845959] Re: QAT drivers for C3XXX and C62X not included as modules

2020-02-27 Thread David Chen
Hi,

I upgraded my kernel to 5.3.0-40.32 and qat_c3xxx caused hung task on my
dm_crypt devices.
I had to workaround by blacklisting qat_c3xxx.

I'm using Supermicro A2SDI-4C-HLN4F with Intel Atom C3558.

  [ Łukasz 'sil2100' Zemczak ]
  * Add support for populating a .disk/info file on the target image rootfs.
(LP: #1856684)
  * Design change: no longer remove /boot/grub from the rootfs for classic
image builds. This allows developers to have more freedom on deciding how
boot configuration should be handled. (LP: #1817050)
  * Fix the autopkgtest story on focal. Only for this series, remove the py37
tox environment as it does not work due to pyparted being 3.8-only.

  [ Maciej Borzecki ]
  * ubuntu_image: update schema validator to allow gadget update specific
keys & little cleanups. (LP: #1856903)

2020-02-27 Thread Thiago Martins
Terry,

Ubuntu 18.04.4 with Kernel 5.3.0-40-generic, running on QEMU, takes
more than 1:30 minutes to boot, it stops here for a while:

I'm using the following image to build my QEMU VMs:

@gerald4674 Yes you are right. I installed 5.3.0-24, it works without
"Intel", so I think we can narrow down to changes b/w 24 and 26. And
yes, the screen has no F key list.

[Bug 1865101] [NEW] No signal to external monitor after [drm:intel_pch_fifo_underrun_irq_handler [i915]] *ERROR* PCH transcoder B FIFO underrun

2020-02-27 Thread Karl Kastner
Public bug reported:

Since recently, my external monitor goes black in random intervals of
5-10 min.

I have Dell monitor connected via display port to a Lenovo ThinkPad
T510. I always switch off the laptop screen with "xrandr -q --output
LVDS-1 --off" and work only with the external monitor. This combination
worked flawlessly for the last six month.

Since a couple of days, the laptop suddenly stops sending a signal to
the external monitor, which goes black. The signal is send again, after
replugging the display port cable or repowering the monitor. The problem
does not seem to occur when I do not switch off the laptop monitor and
work on two screens in parallel.

At first I thought it was a problem of the monitor, but it seems to be a
bug in the graphics driver:

[29042.368884] [drm:intel_cpu_fifo_underrun_irq_handler [i915]] *ERROR* CPU
pipe B FIFO underrun
[29042.368948] [drm:intel_pch_fifo_underrun_irq_handler [i915]] *ERROR* PCH
transcoder B FIFO underrun
[29049.759513] [drm:intel_pch_fifo_underrun_irq_handler [i915]] *ERROR* PCH
transcoder B FIFO underrun
[29050.354467] [drm:intel_dp_start_link_train [i915]] *ERROR* failed to get
link status
[29050.441402] [drm:intel_dp_start_link_train [i915]] *ERROR* failed to start
channel equalization
[29050.526209] [drm:intel_pch_fifo_underrun_irq_handler [i915]] *ERROR* PCH
transcoder B FIFO underrun

Note, over the last years I frequently (say at least on a weekly basis)
observed that the external monitor goes black for the flash of a second
but then instantly recovers. This happened with combinations of
different laptops and screens. I thought so far this was related to
fluctuations in the power supply, but maybe there is something more
sinister at hand.

[Bug 1322728] Re: VPN Connection Failed With 2 Factor Authentication

2020-02-27 Thread Usievaład Kimajeŭ
Hi,

We use OpenVPN + DUO.
I imported a .ovpn file via sudo nmcli connection import type openvpn file
/path/to/foo.ovpn.
I set my login in Ubuntu VPN settings (no password).
Turned on the VPN.
Ubuntu asked for an authentication, I entered my VPN password.
Ubuntu asked for a password (I guess it means DUO passcode), I entered it.
Ubuntu asked for it again and I pressed Cancel (system asks for it infinitely).

I hope it helps.

OpenVPN CLI works, OpenVPN for Windows works. Entering password, passcode
or passwordpasscode or passcodepassword doesn't work.

[Bug 1864475] Re: Mstflint package - add RoCE disable support in Ubuntu 18.04

2020-02-27 Thread dann frazier
While trying to create a backport of mlxreg - without touching other
parts of mstflint - I hit an incompatibility. See below. Does mlxreg
require the new version of mget_max_reg_size(), or can it be made to
work with the 4.8 version? The supports_reg_accces_gmp() interface will
likely need to be added as well - I haven't checked to see how hairy
that is. fyi, my working tree is at:

[Bug 1862830] Re: Update sosreport to 3.9

2020-02-27 Thread Bryan Quigley
A quick script to run on a node to verify multiple different options:
wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/sosreport/sos/master/tests/simple.sh
sudo bash simple.sh /usr/bin/python3 /usr/bin/sosreport

there is one possible known bug with it, in regards to lxd:
https://github.com/sosreport/sos/issues/1921

Running ii sosreport 3.9-1ubuntu0.19.10.1
on Eoan. All checks out. Manual checking as well.

I can reproduce this bug, the same happens for me after a fresh install
of focal-daily. A workaround for me was to remove snapd and reinstall
it.

field-high. There has been no update for 9 months to this bug. If folks
are still seeing this then additional logs and help reproducing would be
much appreciated.
