[Bug 1872803] Re: VM reboots using qemu and kvm with ovmf
Hi, Sergio - I have not seen (or got reported) this kind of issue yet. To be clear with "starts rebooting" do you mean the host or the guest that reboots? Did you also see the same issue without OVMF/TPM enabled in the cmdline or is that a hard dependency to trigger the bug? In a similar fashion to help reproducing for others, doe this also happen to your setup outside of GCE or is it only happening there? Please feel free to add anything else that comes to your mind that could help recreating the issue. In general I think eventually you might add as much extra information to this bug and then open it up to qemu-upstream (add a Qemu task to the bug here will mirror it to the mailing list). That increases the chance of others that are running on GCE to see this and chime in if it is any sort of known issue. ** Changed in: kvm (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1872803 Title: VM reboots using qemu and kvm with ovmf To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kvm/+bug/1872803/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1864532] Re: Incorrect nvram template for secboot firmware
Another +1 on leave it alone would be that Bionic users could (if for whatever reason they don't want/can to modify the conffile) can also consider getting the cloud archive based new version from focal along that newer ovmf packages and then fully work as in focal. For Eoan it is odd, essentially we now have: - Bionic -> Focal upgraders are fine - Bionic -> Eoan -> Focal upgraders have a change in Eoan and again one in Focal I'M glad that B-F should be smooth now. For B->E IMHO chances are high that those few affected in Eoan have fixed it somehow via local setup and the change would regresses exactly those people, while OTOH everyone else wouldn't mind either way as they are not using OVMF-secboot. I'm tempted to say both could be "won't Fix" as it seems like more pain than gain. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that there was an error on your system when trying to install a particular package. Please execute the following command, as it will clear your package cache, in a terminal: sudo apt-get clean Then try performing the update again. This will likely resolve your issue, but the failure could be caused by filesystem or memory corruption. So please also run a fsck on your filesystem(s) and a memory test. Thanks in advance! [Bug 1872879] Re: update to land on ff-main before release
I concur on the urgency of these fixes at this late date. wslu is a distinguishing feature of Ubuntu on WSL. It is important to address these bugs in 20.04. callmepk is the upstream author of wslu so I have confidence in his patches. I am running a build from callmepk's branch and have not encountered any issues in my testing. Hi, Yes, what Ash linked is correct. I am the person who's comment is linked in Ash's comment, and after applying these patches, a new bug is created. After being in a voice call for a long period of time, discord animations will start to progressively lag severely when audio input is received. When you are not talking (mic activated) or your mic is muted, the lag does not occur, however, when typing and talking it is SEVERE. There must be something in these patches that causes high resource consumption (not necessarily ram/cpu) when voice is activated for long periods of time. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1867996 Title: Segfault in app_indicator_set_icon_full [patch attached] To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libappindicator/+bug/1867996/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I was already aware that on first connect the HID input device wasn't created, but I hadn't realised it's part of the same bug. What's happening is that on initial connect: dev->sec_watch = g_io_add_watch(idev->intr_io, G_IO_OUT, encrypt_notify, idev); creates the notify callback. But it never triggers. On second connection the callback gets triggered, but the connect code gets run again so another refcount is added. This means the intr channel never gets closed which means it's stuck on the last event. That will prevent the channel getting left dangling, but it doesn't address the issue of the callback not happening on initial connect, which is AFAICT what results in that part of the bug for me. Is it really supposed to be waiting for G_IO_OUT? It seems it only gets triggered for me when a second connection
