[Bug 1872894] [NEW] Support brotli compressed content

2020-04-14 Thread Benjamin Tegge via ubuntu-bugs
Public bug reported:

Could you please include the ngx_brotli module?
https://github.com/google/ngx_brotli

Several guides exist on the Internet that tell you how to build a nginx
package that contains it, there seems to be demand for it. But nobody
seems to care to write a bug or patch to bring it to Ubuntus standard
repositories.

Examples:
https://community.hetzner.com/tutorials/install-nginx-with-brotli-and-gzip-compression-on-ubuntu
https://www.howtoforge.com/tutorial/how-to-install-nginx-with-brotli-compression-on-ubuntu-1804/

[Bug 1872803] Re: VM reboots using qemu and kvm with ovmf

2020-04-14 Thread Christian Ehrhardt 
Hi,
Sergio - I have not seen (or got reported) this kind of issue yet.
To be clear with "starts rebooting" do you mean the host or the guest that
reboots?

Did you also see the same issue without OVMF/TPM enabled in the cmdline
or is that a hard dependency to trigger the bug?

In a similar fashion to help reproducing for others, doe this also
happen to your setup outside of GCE or is it only happening there?

Please feel free to add anything else that comes to your mind that could
help recreating the issue.

In general I think eventually you might add as much extra information to
this bug and then open it up to qemu-upstream (add a Qemu task to the
bug here will mirror it to the mailing list). That increases the chance
of others that are running on GCE to see this and chime in if it is any
sort of known issue.

[Bug 1872891] [NEW] ksmserver-logout-greeter crashed with SIGABRT in __GI_raise()

I can't provide anything useful sorry, I was trying to shutdown & just
had errors and it refused to shutdown, or ubuntu-bug. QA-test was good
otherwise..

I've upgraded packages (Qt5 changes) were recently applied; so this
maybe just a timing issue but I don't know.

[Bug 1872890] [NEW] libkf5akonadicore5abi2 installs unwanted (for Digikam) akonadi-server

2020-04-14 Thread Evgen
Public bug reported:

Dear maintainer,
Today I tried to update Kubuntu 20.o4 and unexpectedly discovered that apt
wants to install akonadi-server

The following package was automatically installed and is no longer required:
  libkf5calendarcore5abi1
Use 'sudo apt autoremove' to remove it.
The following packages will be REMOVED:
  libkf5akonadicore5abi1
The following NEW packages will be installed:
  akonadi-backend-mysql akonadi-server libkf5akonadi-data
libkf5akonadicore5abi2 libkf5calendarcore5abi2 libreadline5
  mariadb-client-core-10.3 mariadb-common mariadb-server-core-10.3
The following packages will be upgraded:
  digikam digikam-data digikam-private-libs libkf5akonadicontact-data
libkf5akonadicontact5abi1 libkf5akonadicore-bin libkf5akonadiprivate5abi2
libkf5akonadiwidgets5abi1 libkf5contacteditor5 libkf5contacts-data
libkf5contacts5 libkf5mime-data libkf5mime5abi2
-

Initially I had minimal install of Kubuntu. Then installed "digikam" which also
installed "digikam-private-libs".
"digikam-private-libs" depends on "libkf5akonadicontact5abi1" which initially
depended on "libkf5akonadicore5abi1" and now depends on
"libkf5akonadicore5abi2". Unlike "libkf5akonadicore5abi1" ,
"libkf5akonadicore5abi2" depends on "akonadi-server".
I believe it's an unfortunate change for most Digikam users.

[Bug 1864532] Re: Incorrect nvram template for secboot firmware

2020-04-14 Thread Christian Ehrhardt 
Another +1 on leave it alone would be that Bionic users could (if for
whatever reason they don't want/can to modify the conffile) can also
consider getting the cloud archive based new version from focal along
that newer ovmf packages and then fully work as in focal.

For Eoan it is odd, essentially we now have:
- Bionic -> Focal upgraders are fine
- Bionic -> Eoan -> Focal upgraders have a change in Eoan and again one in Focal

I'M glad that B-F should be smooth now. For B->E IMHO chances are high
that those few affected in Eoan have fixed it somehow via local setup
and the change would regresses exactly those people, while OTOH everyone
else wouldn't mind either way as they are not using OVMF-secboot.

I'm tempted to say both could be "won't Fix" as it seems like more pain than
gain.
What do you think Dann?

2020-04-14 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that there was an error on your system when
trying to install a particular package. Please execute the following
command, as it will clear your package cache, in a terminal:

sudo apt-get clean

Then try performing the update again. This will likely resolve your
issue, but the failure could be caused by filesystem or memory
corruption. So please also run a fsck on your filesystem(s) and a
memory test. Thanks in advance!

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

[Bug 1872879] Re: update to land on ff-main before release

2020-04-14 Thread Hayden Barnes
I concur on the urgency of these fixes at this late date.

wslu is a distinguishing feature of Ubuntu on WSL. It is important to
address these bugs in 20.04.

callmepk is the upstream author of wslu so I have confidence in his
patches.

I am running a build from callmepk's branch and have not encountered any
issues in my testing.

We will continue testing as this moves through the review process.

[Bug 1872877] Re: LP: #1866383 needs an autopkgtest fix to migrate

2020-04-14 Thread Rafael David Tinoco
resource-agents has the following autopkgtest in control file:

...
# currently failing on Ubuntu autopkgtest setup for networking differences, so
skip there
# Working in Debci, but compared to badtest retains all the other tests coverage
Test-Command: [ "`lsb_release -is`" = "Ubuntu" ] || debian/tests/run-ocft named
Depends: resource-agents, bind9 (>= 1:9.16.1-2), bind9-host, bind9-utils,
lsb-release
Restrictions: needs-root, isolation-container
...

Unfortunately the logic does not work because bind9 won't reach that
version in 20.04. For now, I'll remove this test as a delta, like it
should be.

[Bug 1867996] Re: Segfault in app_indicator_set_icon_full [patch attached]

2020-04-14 Thread Zach
Hi,

Yes, what Ash linked is correct. I am the person who's comment is linked
in Ash's comment, and after applying these patches, a new bug is
created. After being in a voice call for a long period of time, discord
animations will start to progressively lag severely when audio input is
received. When you are not talking (mic activated) or your mic is muted,
the lag does not occur, however, when typing and talking it is SEVERE.
There must be something in these patches that causes high resource
consumption (not necessarily ram/cpu) when voice is activated for long
periods of time.

bluetoothd[3167]: profiles/input/device.c:intr_watch_cb() Device

But, something isn't closed properly (possibly g_io_add_watch) since
bluetoothd then spins at 100% CPU in g_main_loop_run() until the device
reconnects, at which point every works normally again until the device
next idles.

Ahhh...

I was already aware that on first connect the HID input device wasn't
created, but I hadn't realised it's part of the same bug.

What's happening is that on initial connect:

 dev->sec_watch = g_io_add_watch(idev->intr_io, G_IO_OUT,
encrypt_notify, idev);

creates the notify callback. But it never triggers. On second
connection the callback gets triggered, but the connect code gets run
again so another refcount is added. This means the intr channel never
gets closed which means it's stuck on the last event.

That will prevent the channel getting left dangling, but it doesn't
address the issue of the callback not happening on initial connect,
which is AFAICT what results in that part of the bug for me.

Is it really supposed to be waiting for G_IO_OUT? It seems it only gets
triggered for me when a second connection

[Bug 1872596] Re: matplotlib should not Build-Depend on ipython

This bug was fixed in the package matplotlib - 3.1.2-1ubuntu4

matplotlib (3.1.2-1ubuntu4) focal; urgency=medium

- replace `ipython` with `python3-ipython`: mpl requires

  package (LP: #1872596)
