I have already tried reinstalling xorg, without success. Then, I tried running Ubuntu 20.04 from a USB stick, and the problem doesn't occur. Today, I have upgraded Ubuntu to version 20.04 to see if it would fix it, but without success again. Note that when I restart the display server (Alt-F2 -> r -> Enter), it fixes the problem (sometimes I have to restart it several times). I would be happy to give you more information if you need. [Bug 1875038] Re: Lock screen not really functioning - Gnome Shell extensions visible and active even in lock screen
I know getting bugs fixed or even recognised as bugs can be very time consuming and frustrating. In the case of gnome-shell extensions we only have the choice between: * Allow extensions, and allow them to do anything including breaking the shell; or * Disallow extensions. A more restricted middleground for extensions does not exist and is unlikely to ever exist because it would be such a large long term change. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1875038 Title: Lock screen not really functioning - Gnome Shell extensions visible and active even in lock screen To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1875038/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 999845] Re: contrast change changes theme
Thank you for reporting this bug to Ubuntu. Ubuntu 12.04 (precise) reached end-of-life on April 28, 2017. See this document for currently supported Ubuntu releases: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases We appreciate that this bug may be old and you might not be interested in discussing it any more. If you then find the bug is still present in the newer Ubuntu version, please add a comment here telling us which new version it is in and change the bug status to Confirmed. ** Changed in: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Won't Fix -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/999845 Title: contrast change changes theme To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/999845/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1874980] Re: Screen not responding after shut down
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It sounds like some part of the system has crashed. To help us find the cause of the crash please follow these steps: 1. Look in /var/crash for crash files and if found run: ubuntu-bug YOURFILE.crash Then tell us the ID of the newly-created bug. 2. If step 1 failed then look at https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where ID is the content of file /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine. Do you find any links to recent problems on that page? If so then please send the links to us. 3. If step 2 also failed then apply the workaround from bug 994921, reboot, reproduce the crash, and retry step 1. Please take care to avoid attaching .crash files to bugs as we are unable to process them as file attachments. It would also be a security risk for yourself. ** Package changed: xorg (Ubuntu) => ubuntu ** Changed in: ubuntu Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1874980 Title: Screen not responding after shut down To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1874980/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Oliver, the bug in ubuntustudio-controls is fixed. The problem with the audio device itself is a different one. it looks like jackdbus is frozen. killall -9 jackd jackdbus will kill it. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Reviewing your dmesg attachment in this bug report it seems that there is a problem with your hardware. [Bug 1776873] Re: Whitelisted allowedURLschemes breaks some desktop apps
Well, you have the Code of Conduct, and we do not have normal software that would not break user systems. Is there any correlation here we cannot discuss because of the Code of Conduct. I am very sorry that my rudeness upset such unique snowflakes as the snap team. The problem is described two years and still present, the importance is "Wishlist". Is somewhere an open technical discussion about solving the problem in Ubuntu, other than the request to submitting url schemes to the whitelist? Can confirm, it's the Nvidia driver installed however now. Will work on external monitor if the monitor is plugged in prior to boot. GeForce 7150m as well. Horizontal double image, stretched vertical with interlacing. What makes this unusual is the mouse cursor stays within the side bounds of the screen undistorted and clicks are where the image should have been horizontally but matches image location vertically. [Bug 1864871] Re: Failed to init Intel sound card in 20.04
I see this problem on a Dell Inspiron 3630. Workaround: The problem is only manifest when the modules are loaded during boot. After booting, I only have the dummy sound card. [Bug 1874861] Re: Xorg freeze
** Package changed: xorg (Ubuntu) => ubuntu ** Changed in: ubuntu Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1874861 Title: Xorg freeze To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1874861/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
