[Bug 1551949]
I got a question on chat about using SkiaPDF instead of cairo for this and I might as well add what info I have here. SkiaPDF does indeed [have functionality to annotate](https://github.com/google/skia/blob/c0bd9f9fe533a7b8644392240c1250195aaee537/include/core/SkAnnotation.h) the PDFs in generates. However, although we use Skia, we [only made an experimental start on integrating and using SkiaPDF](https://mzl.la/3iZiU7v) as a printing backend. Finishing that off is probably still a fair amount of work. For anyone looking into fixing this bug the expedient way forward is most likely to try porting the functionality from a newer version of cairo to our old, in-tree version, as suggested by Jeff in comment 20. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1551949 Title: Printing to PDF file loses URLs/links To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/thunderbird/+bug/1551949/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1896637] Re: system booting is too slow. Application like chrome, spotify, Libre Office, etc open too slow.
Thanks. I can't see anything obvious in that log. This makes me think something is running fundamentally too slow; either the CPU or the disk. To check the disk speed please run a benchmark in the 'Disks' app, and/or use: sudo hdparm -t /dev/sda and tell us the results. The CPU sounds like it might be restricted by thermald. Please try removing the file: /etc/thermald/thermal-conf.xml because it sounds like there's a problem in that file. ** Package changed: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) => ubuntu ** Summary changed: - system booting is too slow. [Bug 1897836] [NEW] package ubuntu-keyring 2012.05.19.1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Public bug reported: - Ubuntu 16.04 - ubuntu-keyring installed ver. 2012.05.19.1 (which is also the latest version) - I had previously had issues with an expired key from the OSMC installer, so I removed it, and after "sudo apt-get update" I've had no issues with mentioning that expired key. Running powertop for a longer time will result in lots of such messages. To me it seems not immediately necessary to frequently write to such cache files, and create lock files, if the icon theme does (almost) never change. There is a bug in qpixmapcache (or qpc is used with a different scope). qpc evicts entries from the cache after some time, even if the items are in use, when the set of items is stable (e.g., you only use the same 3 pixmaps all the time). I am currently working on a new implementation for qpc which does not show this behaviour. [Bug 1897741] Re: hang after using util badblocks
If the computer is hanging as you describe, this is a kernel bug, possibly exacerbated by a hardware bug. It isn't a userspace bug; e2fsprogs is just reading from the block device. If that is causing the computer hang, it's by definition not a userspace bug. So this needs to be a kernel investigation; can it be reliably reproduced? What kernel version is it? What is the hardware --- especially what kind of storage device, and how is it connected to the computer? If you hook up a serial console, are there any interesting kernel messages, including potentially device driver messages indicating some kind of hardware issue (e.g., media errors, etc.) In any case, this needs to be redirected to the kernel, and if you have an LTS support contract, I'd suggest contacting Canonical's enterprise support to work the kernel issue. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1897741 Title: hang after using util badblocks To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/e2fsprogs/+bug/1897741/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1897826] [NEW] Button for changing input type outside of textfield does not work
Public bug reported: Reproduce == 1) Open a File manager 2) Press the button for changing the input language ( on Japanese keyboards that's the `半角・全角・漢字` button below `ESC`. 3) Expected: Input language changes Actual: Input language does not change Workaround == - Click inside a random text field - Press the button for changing input language Why is this important? == When navigating around the system, it's sometimes necessary to switch to English input without having a text field. Consider this example - Image you have an English file structure - Set the input language to Japanese - Open a file manager - Search for a folder/file by starting to type - You'll get gibberish because you're trying to write English with Japanese input. The file selection cursor might even jump to random position according to your input. - Press `Esc` to try again in English. - Press The language changing button - Start typing again. - You get gibberish again, because outside of the search field the language-changing button press was ignored. lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS Release:20.04 apt-cache policy ibus-anthy: Installed: 1.5.11-1build1 Candidate: 1.5.11-1build1 Version table: *** 1.5.11-1build1 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu focal/universe amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 20.04 Package: ibus-anthy 1.5.11-1build1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.4.0-48.52-generic 5.4.60 Uname: Linux 5.4.0-48-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu27.9 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckResult: skip CurrentDesktop: XFCE Date: Wed Sep 30 09:58:41 2020 SourcePackage: ibus-anthy UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to focal on 2020-07-24 (67 days ago) ** Affects: ibus-anthy (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug focal -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1897826 Title: Button for changing input type outside of textfield does not work To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ibus-anthy/+bug/1897826/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
