It's pretty jerky. Re: [Bug 1899882] Re: hdmi monitor on
Thanks. I got -4007-oem to run. At boot it presented correctly with a login box on the external screen and the laptop screen available. However when I logged in both screens went blank for a bit after which only the laptop screen was alive but it wasn't the primary so just blank. Right clicking allowed me to get the "Display" GUI and fiddle around. After poking buttons a bit I could get the external screen to come alive but it was pretty mixed up so I have reverted to the -1008-oem. I am using xfce rather than gnome. Re: [Bug 1899882] Re: hdmi monitor on
Got all five .deb files then used this command: sudo apt install ./*.deb But, when choosing the -4007-oem kernel it says the signature is wrong and quits. The -1008-oem kernel still doesn't start the external display and the dock doesn't run right away. (Ethernet doesn't work). Back to 5.6.0-1036-oem. [Bug 1838151] Re: Poor quality audio with modern Bluetooth headsets in HSP/HFP. Missing wide band speech support (Bluetooth A2DP codecs).
I installed pulseaudio-modules-bt and it does give some new options for sound output and possibly better sound, but microphone sound quality was still iffy. Recorded sound on Audacity seemed better and was slightly louder (according to the DB meter), but a test call on Microsoft Teams was still muffled and unintelligible. I have ordered a Avantree DG80 dongle (which makes the bluetooth connection externally and appears to linux as usb audio) and will hopefully be able to continue working with that, but I would love to see this problem resolved in pulseaudio. [Bug 1909494] Re: wpa_supplicant and iwlwifi failing with "No buffer space available" since "kernel 5.4.0-56"
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1909494/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. [Bug 1909496] [NEW] Blinking login screen
Public bug reported: Hello, I am facing this issue since the upgrade of Ubuntu to Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS. The issue still persists even after re-installing Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS. Due to inactivity the system goes to the Suspend mode. On restoring from the suspend mode the login screen appears but it starts to blink continuously making it impossible to use the system. The only option is to force restart the system. Please let me know if this is an already known issue/bug and if there is a solution available for the same. [Bug 1848180] Re: LVM initrd fails to activate btrfs multidevice root
OK, attached are some initramfs scripts: local-top.hook -> /etc/initramfs-tools/hooks/btrfs-lvm local-top.script -> /etc/initramfs-tools/scripts/local-top/btrfs-lvm I've tried to make them reasonably generic, the root fs is examined on initramfs creation, component btrfs devices extracted and tested to see if they are LVM LVs, and if so added to a config file inside them initramfs. Then on boot all those LVs are activated before attempting to mount root. ** Attachment added: "/etc/initramfs-tools/hooks/btrfs-lvm" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lvm2/+bug/1848180/+attachment/5447425/+files/local-top.hook -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1848180 Title: LVM initrd fails to activate btrfs multidevice root To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lvm2/+bug/1848180/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1909494] [NEW] wpa_supplicant and iwlwifi failing with "No buffer space available" since "kernel 5.4.0-56"
Public bug reported: There are reproduce-able WiFi aborts with 20.04.1 LTS since update to kernel 5.4.0-56. Behaviour: nm-applet shows a window to enter the WLAN key that is pre- filled. mgsloan: That's pretty awful indeed, because applying these keyboard settings locks up all keyboard input for multiple seconds. [Bug 1848180] Re: LVM initrd fails to activate btrfs multidevice root
I'm seeing this on focal as well. Running vgchange when the initramfs crashes to shell no longer seems to work - it just hangs. I have to add break=mount to kernel command line and do it there. Now working on hacking something into /etc/initramfs-tools/scripts/local-top/ - @Gabriele, that should allow you to make your changes permanent. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1848180 Title: LVM initrd fails to activate btrfs multidevice root To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lvm2/+bug/1848180/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1909478] [NEW] ubuntu installer Create LVM volume group Devices are invisible
Public bug reported: Booted ubuntu installer live iso, got as far as "Create LVM volume group", which presents a list of Devices which are invisible. The tab key clearly steps through the invisible devices, but as they are invisible i cant see which to choose. As a sometimes workaround, by hitting the spacebar on each invisible choice, the size is shown, and i can sometimes deduce from that which device it is, tho if several devices are the same size even that doesn't help. [Bug 1909479] [NEW] Composed characteres are still not managed by gdm greeter
Public bug reported: Similary behaviour of this bug was report in #1716159 and #1765261, but still occured. Step to reproduce : - Login your Ubuntu 20.04 desktop session, - Modifi the user password with User Pannel Settings, - Select a User, - Change his password with a new one containing some composed char like "ë" or "ê" (composed by two keys for example "^" key + "e" key), - Validate. Now, the User is not abble to connect himself with gdm, because it never allow the user fills the composed characters (nothing appends) in the password field. The user can login by using command line with the new password. "password" cmd line produce same thing when use composed character, gdm is still not able to manage composed character. ** Affects: gdm3 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1909479 Title: Composed characteres are still not managed by gdm greeter To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm3/+bug/1909479/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1909474] Re: System hangs after attaching Mediatek mt76x2u based USB Wifi network adapter
To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1909474/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. [Bug 1909355] Re: 20.04 install software raid fails. SSD's have identical WWN's.
Apologies for this: I assumed mdadm has this problem too, but that's a mistake. mdadm can handle hdd's when they have identical WWN's. The message "device or resource busy" is caused by something else. So it's clearly a subiquity bug. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1909355 Title: 20.04 install software raid fails.
