Erich, looks like that code wasn't reached or if it was the object (list) "auto_removable" was empty. Maybe the problem is outside this code. Does apt think those packages are still installed? apt list --installed 'linux-image*' Also, what is the actual content of /boot/ ("ls -latr /boot/") ? Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1914317/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. [Bug 1789177] Re: RabbitMQ fails to synchronize exchanges under high load
I confirmed that upgrading olso.messaging in n-ovs causes rabbitmq issue Right after restarted n-ovs-agent, I can see a lot of errors in rabbitmq log[1] which is the same as the error when rabbitmq failover issue ( the original issue of this LP ) Then after I upgraded oslo.messaging in neutron-api unit and restarted neutron-server, below errors are gone and I was able to create instance again. After upgrading oslo.messaging in n-ovs only, exchange they communicate didn't match. As changing exchanges they use depends on publisher-cosumer relation. [Bug 1914164] Re: [nvidia] [radeon] Shell labels randomly disappear from the menu panel (top bar)
Thanks. It's possible there's some VT switching happening in the screen locking/unlocking. Or just mode switching. If so then that can trigger an annoying feature of the Nvidia driver where it will forget its textures: https://www.khronos.org/registry/OpenGL/extensions/NV/NV_robustness_video_memory_purge.txt We don't yet have all the fixes we need to deal with that feature of Nvidia, and it can't be turned off either. The other bugs associated with this are bug 1876632 and bug 1855757. Re: [Bug 1899553] Re: gcvt and qgcvt do not always provide requested precsion
Hi, On Wed, Feb 3, 2021 at 3:46 AM Balint Reczey <1899...@bugs.launchpad.net> wrote: > The first result is slightly less, the second one is slightly more > accurate representation of 0.1 compared to the exected value thanks to > the rounding. > > IMO it makes sense to omit the digits that are below the accuracy limit > and the man page does not suggest the opposite. > I disagree with that. The man page says: "It produces ndigit significant digits in either printf(3) F format or E format" If the intention was to limit the value of "ndigit" to no more than 17, then I believe that documentation should have (and, indeed, would have) specified that limit. Every double (apart from infs and nans) encapsulates a precise base 2 value. I see nothing unreasonable in wanting to see that precise base 2 value expressed exactly in base 10. That is what the "%.*g" formatting of sprintf provides - which is, of course, the workaround I use. gcvt's commitment to a string containing only "significant digits" implies that no more than 768 digits will ever be output for any double. That is, the precise value of every finite double can be expressed exactly in 768 (or fewer) decimal digits. > If you deeply believe that glibc needs to be fixed in this aspect please > report the issue upstream, because this is not a deliberate change in > the Ubuntu packaging. > > I do believe that gcvt and qcvt are not behaving in accordance with their documented (nor expected) behaviours. However, the man also says: " Marked as LEGACY in POSIX.1-2001. POSIX.1-2008 removes the specification of gcvt(), recommending the use of sprintf(3) instead (though snprintf(3) may be preferable)." Therein lie the only excuses I can see for *not* fixing it. I think I would at least like "upstream" to be made aware of this issue. And the best way to achieve this would be to file a bug report. Can you provide me with a link to the correct location for doing this ? Thanks for responding. I appreciate the time you've taken in doing this. Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. [Bug 1894778] Re: Cannot probe sata disk on sata controller behind VMD: ata1.00: failed to IDENTIFY (I/O error, err_mask=0x4)
Aksahat: Could something go wrong while doing this? No, it couldn't be worse than what you already have. The OEM kernel is tested and resolves this particular bug and others. How long before patched kernel is released for ubuntu-20.04? That question is for the Ubuntu development team. I dare to calculate that between two and four weeks. Maybe less, but no more than that. How can I be sure of my error is this same error and will be relsolved by patch? If you use sudo apt install linux-oem-20.04 you reboot and in grub you select the OEM kernel and it fixes the error, that's it. If you don't want to do that, check the detail of the error in this thread and compare it with yours. The command output you share says nothing more than the kernel version you have. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1894778 Title: Cannot probe sata disk on sata controller behind VMD: ata1.00: failed to IDENTIFY (I/O error, err_mask=0x4) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hwe-next/+bug/1894778/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
