Also confirmed on opensuse tumbleweed, Debian Bullseye/sid, Fedora 33 Initially believed to be a LXQt issue, it was filed upstream (LXQt) at https://github.com/lxqt/lxqt/issues/1925 however if openbox is switched out and replaced with xfwm4, or icewm, the issue is gone. To return issue openbox needs only to be used, hence filing here. ** Description On certain display configurations (one monitor above the other), clicking Apply causes one display to go black, and the other to have half the wallpaper. Further, a right-click on the monitor that has background causes the LXQt menu to appear, however right-click on the other monitor (that is black) only has Openbox's menu appear Note: if you reverse the top/bottom display, the issue does not occur. ** Expected Behavior Wallpaper appear on both monitors (half on each) LXQt menu appears on both monitors when right-click pressed ** Actual Behavior On changing display configuration (2x displays, 1920x1080) with one display above the other, on clicking apply you get - one monitor has no background, openbox menu appears with right-click - other monitor has half of the wallpaper/background, LXQt menu appears with right-click ** Steps to Reproduce - Two monitors, 1920x1080. - (on LXQt) open Monitor.Settings and set one display above the other - click Apply - if issue doesn't occur, firstly I'd suggest logout & login again - if issue still hadn't occurred, swap top & bottom monitors & re-apply. logout & login may be required as well. (note I've had the logout/login required, and not-required; can't provide clues as to how that relates (insufficient testing-sample-size for picture sorry) Note: If the top/bottom monitor is in one order, the issue will not occur. If so reversing the top/bottom will have the issue occur. ** Some system information Distribution & Version: Lubuntu hirsute, Opensuse tumbleweed & Debian Bullseye Kernel: 5.10.0-14, 5.10.16-1, 5.10.0-3 On Lubuntu, `openbox --version` reports "Openbox 3.6.1" ** For pictures & more detail refer https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxqt- session/+bug/1845756 but I'd concentrate on comments #10 & later Top display - https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxqt- session/+bug/1845756/+attachment/5467407/+files/screen_top_menu.jpg Bottom display - https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxqt- session/+bug/1845756/+attachment/5467410/+files/screen_bottom_menu.jpg Reply at: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openbox/+bug/1845756/comments/18 On 2021-03-26T05:29:02+00:00 Chris Guiver wrote: Sorry the picture links are incorrect (the filing was changed from lxqt-session to openbox and I forgot that would change the urls) Top display picture is now - https://launchpadlibrarian.net/525145031/screen_top_menu.jpg Bottom display picture is now - https://launchpadlibrarian.net/525145132/screen_bottom_menu.jpg (or you can use original links by replacing "lxqt-session" with "openbox") Reply at: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openbox/+bug/1845756/comments/19 ** Changed in: openbox Status: Unknown => Confirmed ** Changed in: openbox Importance: Unknown => Medium ** Bug watch added: github.com/lxqt/lxqt/issues #1925 https://github.com/lxqt/lxqt/issues/1925 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1845756 Title: lubuntu - strange movement of wallpaper on monitor.settings change (or next login) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/openbox/+bug/1845756/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1920987] Re: IANA tzdata file format cannot represent different country code for a given timezone in different time periods [ i.e. Europe/Simferopol country code changes ]; iso 3166-2 has no RU s
Oh, that's so sweet... when I read this endless memoir about codes of conduct and the importance of democratic institutions, written in English. I think only of the Overton window system, and I only remember that after a very hard war, seeing that the British Empire would fall, Truman introduced the Soviet deterrent system, which is projected to this day, and I see it not as a deterrent system, but as a knife in the back... this is the whole importance of passing through a thousand words and gigabytes of code to justify simple things. While they will fool you with their rules, at the same time they will create lawlessness themselves, for this they write their rules. I remember how the USSR was destroyed, how the Crimea was removed from the USSR, I remember these hordes of Uzbeks with signs on their necks "our Crimea". I see what is happening now around the Crimean peninsula, these claims, attacks and sanctions... in order to change the opinion of the Crimeans. And believe me, I still behave more than correctly when I write all this. After all, if you were left in your infancy just in the woods, you would be the default animal. You wouldn't be able to read or write until you were taught to do so. In another case, if you are placed in an information vacuum and raised in total Russophobia (which includes racism, fascism and nazism), you will already turn into a completely different animal. But the point will be the same. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1920987 Title: IANA tzdata file format cannot represent different country code for a given timezone in different time periods [ i.e. Europe/Simferopol country code changes ]; iso 3166-2 has no RU subdivisions for Crimea To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/iso-codes/+bug/1920987/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1693900] Re: apt-get update should return exit code != 0 on error
Fixed in Ubuntu Hirsute. --- apt (2.1.16) unstable; urgency=medium [ Faidon Liambotis ] * Various fixes to http and connect method - basehttp: also consider Access when a Server's URI - connect: convert a C-style string to std::string - connect: use ServiceNameOrPort, not Port, as the cache key [ Julian Andres Klode ] * patterns: Add dependency patterns ?depends, ?conflicts, etc. Note that the -broken- variants are not implemented yet. * Rewrite of the kernel autoremoval code: - Determine autoremovable kernels at run-time (LP: #1615381), this fixes the issue where apt could consider a running kernel autoremovable - Automatically remove unused kernels on apt {full,dist}-upgrade. This helps ensuring that we don't run out of /boot space. - Only keep up to 3 (not 4) kernels. Ubuntu boot partitions were sized for 3 kernels, not 4. * Bump codenames to bullseye/hirsute and adjust -security codename for bullseye (Closes: #969932) * Ignore failures from immediate configuration. This does not change the actual installation ordering - we never passed the return code to the caller and installation went underway anyway if it could be ordered at a later stage, this just removes spurious after-the-fact errors. (Closes: #973305, #188161, #211075, #649588) (LP: #1871268) * Add support for Phased-Update-Percentage, previously used only by update-manager. * Implement update --error-on=any so that scripts can reliably check for transient failures as well. (Closes: #594813) [ Demi M. [Bug 1906668] Re: [MIR] opensbi
I reviewed opensbi 0.9-1ubuntu3 as checked into hirsute. This shouldn't be considered a full audit but rather a quick gauge of maintainability. opensbi is a firmware for riscv-based systems. It executes outside of operating systems, in order to provide services necessary for bootloaders, hypervisors, etc. - CVE History: - no cves in our database - Build-Depends? - gcc-riscv64-linux-gnu, debhelper-compat - pre/post inst/rm scripts? - none - init scripts? - none - systemd units? - none - dbus services? - none - setuid binaries? - none - binaries in PATH? - none - sudo fragments? - none - polkit files? - none - udev rules? - none - unit tests / autopkgtests? - I didn't see anything useful - cron jobs? - none - Build logs: - clean - Processes spawned? - none - Memory management? - Looked careful - File IO? - none - Logging? - very little, looked fine - Environment variable usage? - none - Use of privileged functions? - not posix privileged functions, but rather privileged CPU instructions - Use of cryptography / random number sources etc? - none - Use of temp files? - none - Use of networking? - none - Use of WebKit? - none - Use of PolicyKit? - none - Any significant cppcheck results? - only false positives - Any significant Coverity results? - unavailable - Any significant shellcheck results? - nothing important - Any significant bandit results? - none This is highly complex software, but it's fairly straightforward C, programmed carefully. [Test plan] We have included a test in the test-suite in test-apt-update-failure-propagation that ensures that warnings become errors. [Bug 626144] [NEW] aptdaemon doesn't respond to network errors correctly
You have been subscribed to a public bug: (A script is attached to demonstrate the behavior) 1) Go to NetworkManager and disconnect from your network 2) Run the script attached What happens - The update starts, continues for a few seconds and then finishes with the state "exit-sucess" What should happen - The update starts, fails and raises an error because it can't connect to the internet. 1) Make sure you are connected to the Internet 2) Run the script attached 3) After a few seconds, go to NetworkManager and disconnect yourself from the internet What happens - The update starts and just hangs What should happen - The update starts and then fails (raising an error) because it can no longer connect to the internet. [Bug 1920987] Re: IANA tzdata file format cannot represent different country code for a given timezone in different time periods [ i.e. Europe/Simferopol country code changes ]; iso 3166-2 has no RU s
"America" does not maintain neither tzdata nor ISO 3166-2 database, both of which are delegated to international community of Internet Standards via RFC & to a committee headquartered in Genera with delegates from all around the world.
