[Bug 1930355] Re: gnome-calendar crashes disabling/enabling or removing/readding calendar (Signal 6)

2021-06-01 Thread ajg
I solved the problem for myself by commenting out the offending line
(212) from gcal-timeline.c and building and installing my own package. I
don't know whether this could count as a real solution, but one doesn't
lose anything except crashes.

[Bug 1930478] Re: upgrade 18.04 to 20.04; 3rd party packages

2021-06-01 Thread Chris Guiver
I removed telegram, skype, virtualbox, cool-retro-term packages &
commented out sources  (& apt autoremove);

I didn't expect issues with costales/anoise, and chose to ignore
google/chrome or opera/stable

Again tried to release-upgrade; again 3rd party packages error.

I then removed ubuntu-mate-core & ubuntu-mate-desktop, and noted what
was removed... added back redshift-gtk & wallpaper packages; apt
autoremove

Now the release-upgrade is downloading/installing...

2021-06-01 Thread Daniel van Vugt

Error popups mean something has crashed, whereas the error message here
doesn't look like a crash. If you would like to report the popup/crash
then please follow these instructions:

1. Look in /var/crash for crash files and if found run:
ubuntu-bug YOURFILE.crash
Then tell us the ID of the newly-created bug.

2. If step 1 failed then look at https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where
ID is the content of file /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine.
Do you find any links to recent problems on that page? If so then please
send the links to us.

[Bug 1930275] Re: [nvidia] System does not wake up after suspend

2021-06-01 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Thanks. That does at least confirm the system went to sleep and didn't
wake up (or did wake up but not for long enough to write to the log).

Have you been able to resume-from-suspend in previous Ubuntu versions?
Regardless, since 20.10 is going to reach end of life next month [1] it
might be a good idea to try upgrading to 21.04.

[Bug 1839912] Re: test_map in ubuntu_bpf failed with "Allowed update sockmap '0:3' not in ESTABLISHED"

2021-06-01 Thread Thadeu Lima de Souza Cascardo
The problem on 4.15 kernels is due to the backport of:

5028027844cf bpf: test_maps, only support ESTABLISHED socks

that only touches the test, without the respective fixes in the kernel.

Here is the list of Fixes for 1aa12bdf1bfb ("bpf: sockmap, add sock
close() hook to remove socks"):

5028027844cf bpf: test_maps, only support ESTABLISHED socks
b05545e15e1f bpf: sockmap, fix transition through disconnect without close
5607fff30363 bpf: sockmap only allow ESTABLISHED sock state
90545cdc3f2b tcp, ulp: fix leftover icsk_ulp_ops preventing sock from reattach
7ebc14d507b4 bpf: sockmap, consume_skb in close path
952fad8e3239 bpf: fix sock_map_alloc() error path

Bionic has only backported the selftests one and the icsk_ulp one.

To make the test pass, I believe at least 5607fff30363 would be
necessary.

But it seems worth to also investigate the need for the other 3 (they
seem worthy from a first look).

Cascardo.

It's a bug in readline and is affecting clj as well. Won't get fixed
until rlwrap 0.44 is available. The readline changes for bracketed paste
have thrown a bunch of people, but I didn't think it would affect
Clojure too :)

[Bug 1930478] [NEW] upgrade 18.04 to 20.04; 3rd party packages

2021-06-01 Thread Chris Guiver
Public bug reported:

it.

My primary box; dual-boot/alternate 18.04 system
Cause for sure will be 3rd party as reported...

If none of this applies, then please report this bug using the

Some USB devices, especially external ones, can consume power in sleep
mode. This includes keyboards, mouses and usb disks. There is a "SanDisk
Corp. Ultra Fit" in your lsusb. You may want to remove it and verify
again.

Please also try latest mainline kernel (https://kernel.ubuntu.com
/~kernel-ppa/mainline/).

Okay, it's an issue with the rlwrap script.

System clojure (Debian bullseye):

With a copy of the Clojure CLI wrapper script set to use upstream
Clojure binaries instead of the system ones:

ehashman@fedora:/tmp/app$ ./clojure

Running those upstream ones directly with java:

Clojure 1.10.2

Running Debian's jar directly:

Hello Per-Inge, or anyone else affected,

Accepted systemd into groovy-proposed. The package will build now and be
available at
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/systemd/246.6-1ubuntu1.4 in a few
hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, what testing has been
performed on the package and change the tag from verification-needed-
groovy to verification-done-groovy. If it does not fix the bug for you,
please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-
failed-groovy. In either case, without details of your testing we will
not be able to proceed.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance for helping!

N.B. The updated package will be released to -updates after the bug(s)
fixed by this package have been verified and the package has been in
-proposed for a minimum of 7 days.

also the headphone's.
Well, for the second question actually I do not choose any of them. Because the
sound also gone if I choose any of them.

[Bug 1930477] [NEW] cups 2.3.1 does not enumerate printer instances that are set up with lpoptions

2021-06-01 Thread Darren Croft
Public bug reported:

We use printer instances (PRINTER/instance) that are defined in
/etc/cups/lpoptions

Printer instances don't work properly with Ubuntu 20.04 and cups 2.3.1.
We have used the same lpoptions file with earlier versions of cups.

With 2.3.1, the command:
lp PRINTER/instance FILENAME
works

But the printer instances are not visible as printers in the libreoffice
print dialog, or by using lpstat -e or lpstat -a.

There is a recent fix in the uplevel cups code for printer instances.

We did our own make and install of the uplevel master branch 2.3.5 and
printer instances are working now.

We hope that ubuntu 20.04 can soon include the 2.3.5 cups code.

[Bug 1930277] Re: On 21.04, the REPL user prompt disappears after execution

2021-06-01 Thread Elana Hashman
Retitled bug to better describe the problem and confirmed that this also
affects Debian upstream.

Does not affect a REPL launched on Clojure 1.10.2 with Leiningen.

Leiningen appears to launch a 1.10.1 REPL by default.

This appears to be entirely cosmetic so I'm not sure will be fixed in bullseye
(has no effect on Clojure core functionality and we are frozen). Thanks for the
report.

** Summary changed:

[Bug 1909589] Re: No se ha podido calcular la actualización

2021-06-01 Thread Juan Manuel Carrillo Campos
Ok, this is going in a weird direction.
I had (in 2020) an equal issue with a device going from 18.04 to 20.04. I left
that behind doing a clean 20.04 install.
Now with another device I am not able to do a clean install (I am not able to
backup the stuff in this device) then I will like to fix the same kind of issue.
The result of the command attached is from "this device" trying to go from
Ubuntu 14.04 to 16.01 as the first step to finally came to 20.04.

[Bug 1892448] Re: ceph 15.2.3-0ubuntu0.20.04.2 collides with ceph-deploy 2.0.1-0ubuntu1

2021-06-01 Thread Pascal Ernster
Hi, I'm not really following this bug report anymore, and I won't test
this, but thanks for (most likely) fixing the issue.

On a more general note, a question to Canonical: Why does a commercial
distro even bother to have things like "-proposed" repos or a bug
tracker if it takes 9-10 months to fix an issue *this* trivial in a
supposedly supported package, in the most current supposedly supported
distro release? And why should people even bother to write bug reports
at all? Other people manage to conceive and give birth to a child during
the timespan it takes Canonical to simply delete a file.

[Bug 1930140] [NEW] GUI "Extract Here" bug - loop until disk is full

2021-06-01 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
*** This bug is a security vulnerability ***

You have been subscribed to a public security bug by Seth Arnold (seth-arnold):

What happened
-
When .rar file is extracted using GUI by right clicking the file and selecting
"Extract Here", the process continued until the disk is full.

What I expected
---
Extracting the .rar file without consuming my whole disk. Actual file size
after extraction is 22-23MB.

How it got resolved
---
So I installed unrar package using "sudo apt-get install unrar" and the problem
got resolved. Seems like a bug since the unrar package was not there by default
and without unrar the process consumes the whole disk.

OS details are as follows

Description:Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS
Release:20.04

[Bug 1929213] Re: Ubuntu server LVM creates clone partitions and crash installation (invalid wwn is used by udev & probert as well)

2021-06-01 Thread Michael Hudson-Doyle
I think the reason LVM deploys fail is that there is already a VG with
the name that is to be used, which should be deleted but isn't because
the installer gets confused about which disk is which. In any case, the
source of the problem is clear and the exact symptoms are not that
important.

We should definitely handle this situation better. (I think arguably the
udev rules should such a bogus wwn as well but I don't know as much
about how things work at that level).

Disk actions can provide three bits of data to find the drive: wwn,
serial and path. Currently the installer just uses the first of
whichever of these is provided (so in this case, the bogus wwn), but
Dimitri suggested that instead it should use all provided fields, which
would work much better for this bug at least.

[Bug 1892448] Re: ceph 15.2.3-0ubuntu0.20.04.2 collides with ceph-deploy 2.0.1-0ubuntu1

2021-06-01 Thread Brian Murray
Hello Pascal, or anyone else affected,

Accepted ceph into hirsute-proposed. The package will build now and be
available at
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ceph/16.2.4-0ubuntu0.21.04.1 in a
few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, what testing has been
performed on the package and change the tag from verification-needed-
hirsute to verification-done-hirsute. If it does not fix the bug for
you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to
verification-failed-hirsute. In either case, without details of your
testing we will not be able to proceed.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance for helping!

N.B. The updated package will be released to -updates after the bug(s)
fixed by this package have been verified and the package has been in
-proposed for a minimum of 7 days.

[Bug 1926856] Re: Dismissing reminder for recurring meeting removes from all instances

This is a rather inconvenient bug -- it effectively makes the "reminder"
feature in Evolution completely unreliable.

2021-06-01 Thread Balint Reczey
Public bug reported:

[Impact]
* Not updating select's timeout breaks topline's autopkgtest and possibly other
software. https://github.com/kilobyte/topline/issues/1

* Run Groovy's topline's autopkgtest, it should pass:

  $ autopkgtest -U topline_0.3-1.dsc --apt-pocket=proposed=src:glibc --
lxd autopkgtest/ubuntu/hirsute/amd64

[Where problems could occur]
