[Bug 1935617] [NEW] systemd autopkgtest broken on ppc64el with qemu 6.0

2021-07-08 Thread Christian Ehrhardt 
Public bug reported:

I'm not sure yet if this is flaky or a real issue, but I'm filing it to
avoid multiple people analyzing the same.

The Qemu 6.0 upload
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qemu/1:6.0+dfsg-1~ubuntu2 triggers a test
failure like
https://autopkgtest.ubuntu.com/results/autopkgtest-impish/impish/ppc64el/s/systemd/20210708_223311_e3bbb@/log.gz

I have tested the new qemu on ppc64 and it worked fine for device emulation and
migration cases.
But this is suspicious.
Of the last tests exactly and only those with the new qemu failed.

impish
  ppc64el
tests-in-lxd   (F  5% f  0% S  0% B  0% => P 95%/)
F.F.
systemd-fsckd  (F  0% f  0% S 100% B  0% => P  0%/)

upstream-1 (F 15% f  0% S  0% B  0% => P 85%/)
F..F
upstream-2 (F 12% f  0% S  0% B  0% => P 87%/)
F...

For an insight in flakyness/reproducibility I've retriggered the missing qemu
and the non-qemu cases a few times. If those reproduce all-bad vs all-good
again this would further indicate a real issue.

Unfortunately the ppc maas seems down right now and canonistack also
isn't too nice this week - overall that inhibits the testing a bit :-/

[Bug 1935604] [NEW] network-manager-applet: stored auto connect VPN gets changed when viewing settings

2021-07-08 Thread Joe Bauser
Public bug reported:

Xubuntu 20.04.2 LTS focal
Applet version from network-manager-gnome 1.8.24-1uubuntu3 amd64

Please note: the issue described below only seems to occur when building
the applet on my xubuntu 20.04.2 LTS machines. (I have not tried other
ubuntu variants).

If I'm on my home xubuntu machine the problem seems to appear whether
I'm using the ubuntu package, the ubuntu source archive, the upstream
archive, or the upstream source distribution.

The problem does _not_ seem to occur when building the exact same
upstream sources in debian using xfce as its window manager. (I have not
tried other debian variants).

Experienced

If I open an existing connection with an existing VPN, the selected VPN
in the VPN drop down list appears to always show the incorrect VPN. This
results in a situation where opening a connection and clicking "save" on
the general tab always changes the selected VPN, even if I did not make
any change.

Expected

When I open an existing connection, the VPN listed should be the VPN
actually on the connection, not some other random VPN from my list

Reproduction Steps

1. Open nm-connection-editor
2. Add multiple VPNs with different names (i.e. US VPN East, US VPN West, Corp
VPN East, Corp VPN Europe, Corp VPN West)
3. Create a connection (I've reproduced this on wireless and wired connections)
4. Set the connection to automatically connect to VPN
5. Choose any VPN to automatically connect to
6. Save and close
7. re-open nm-connection-editor
8. Edit the same connection created before
9. Note that the automatic VPN has changed to a different VPN in your list
without you having to do antying
10. Click save without changing anything
11. re-open network-manager-editor
12. Note again that the VPN connection is _again_ incorrect

The symptom you should be experiencing is that the VPN that is chosen
when you save - gets saved and used by the connection, but the user
interface does not display the correct VPN when viewed in the connection
editor. This means that any time you edit the connection it might be
swapping your selected VPN without your knowledge.

[Bug 1934926] Re: Add a music player

2021-07-08 Thread Stephen Michael Kellat
The opportunity was taken to review pragha on my test Impish Indri box
on Wednesday. I downloaded some test music files from the 78 RPM record
conversion collection on the Internet Archive
(https://archive.org/details/78rpm) and selected some streaming radio
sources from the front page selection on PublicRadioFan.com
(http://publicradiofan.com/). The software was installed from the
repository and utilized without customization.

The downloaded music files did play correctly. Playing streaming radio
from any source was a bit complicated initially as I couldn't figure out
what to select to open a stream. The UI is focused on building a
playlist from a library and streams do not fit that paradigm well.

Although the software is minimalist there is the problem of pragha not
being sufficiently grounded to meet the task at hand. It feels stuck on
a paradigm of maintaining a single playlist. For some users that may be
okay but we have a broader audience to serve especially when streaming
radio/streaming audio is still a thing.

It appears that rhythmbox can handle the job although it has its own
idiosyncracies. For example it puts streaming radio under an "FM Radio"
plugin. If I wanted to listen to the rolling news feed stream from
WKSU-FM (http://stream.wksu.org/wksu4.128.mp3.m3u) I would have to have
that plugin enabled first then add the feed to its roster before I could
listen to it.

I would recommend rhythmbox as the most stable and user-friendly option
at this point.

I just ran another test: I used the old evince (3.22.1) to open the
djvu file produced by the new djvused command. The bookmarks appeared
properly. This suggests that all three viewers are broken in the same
way. Perhaps they all rely on a library that broke.

[Bug 1935584] [NEW] Fix host to pod traffic with ovn cluster using ovs internal port and tc offload

2021-07-08 Thread Bodong Wang
Public bug reported:

* Explain the bug(s)

When using ovs internal port with tc the redirect rules to internal port is back
to ingress instead of egress.
When we reinsert the skb we start from chain 0 but it could be ct state already
set so matching rules on the internal port queue would miss.

* brief explanation of fixes

When reinserting skb back to ingress queue to restart tc classification
then also reset ct.

* How to test

The setup was created by using ovn and testing iperf traffic from host
container to VF pod.
The result was ip set on the ovs bridge netdev (internal port)
The rules were from rep to eventually the internal port and internal port to
rep.
The rules were with ct actions and chains tc-policy was set to skip-hw.
Without the commit the traffic doesn’t work when hw-offload was true (offload
to tc sw only) but
does work with hw-offload false (ovs dp).

* What it could break.

Traffic not working in some cases using internal ports and CT.

[Bug 1934286] Re: Update the ModemManager to 1.16.6-2 to support some modems in Focal and Hirsute releases.

2021-07-08 Thread Jerry Lee
As the ModemManager is only considered, mbim-proxy is started by the
ModemManager service:

"Jul 09 08:20:21 ubuntu-ThinkEdge-SE30 ModemManager[578]: spawning new

And, the execution path is decided at
https://github.com/linux-mobile-broadband/libmbim/blob/master/src/libmbim-glib/mbim-device.c#L1421:

   argc[0] = g_strdup (LIBEXEC_PATH "/mbim-proxy");

This looks like that the mbim-proxy is only used by the ModemManager
service.

[Bug 1935580] Re: djvused lost the ability to add bookmarks

2021-07-08 Thread Bill Yikes
** Description changed:

  Following these steps to add bookmarks using the set-outline
  instruction:

  https://ebooks.stackexchange.com/questions/7866/how-insert-the-outline-
  the-bookmarks-into-djvu

  there is no error. And if I follow that with:

  $ djvused foo.djvu -e 'print-outline'

- it faithfully reproduces the outline I gave it. But when that djvu file
- is opened in the following viewers:
+ it faithfully reproduces the outline I gave it.
+
+ This technique was also tested and had the same effect:
+
+ https://superuser.com/questions/1170248/how-to-embed-bookmarks-to-djvu-
+ file-using-djvused-djvulibre
+
+ When the resulting djvu file is opened in the following viewers:

  * evince v.3.38.2
  * okular (with okular-extra-backends)
  * qpdfview (with qpdfview-djvu-plugin)

  in all 3 cases the bookmarks pane shows nothing. So either djvused is
  broken or all three viewers are broken. I believe okular and evince
  have different backends, so djvused is the likely culprit.

  djvulibre-bin version is 3.5.28. I did not see have this problem with
  djvulibre-bin 3.5.27.1 & evince 3.22.1.

[Bug 1935581] [NEW] evince no longer shows bookmarks for DjVu files

2021-07-08 Thread Bill Yikes
Public bug reported:

Evince used to have no problem showing bookmarks when viewing a djvu

blank pane for bookmarks.

I'm not sure if the bug is in evince or in djvused, so the bug report is
mirrored for each package. The djvused bug report has more details:

Not sure, but I've set it manually via the GUI the make sure of it.

I can't see such "DNS" or "name server" in the output. Btw, if I connect by
executing the command line, there's no DNS problem, because it hardcodes
`/etc/resolv.conf` to the VPN's DNS, the default 127.0.0.53 is deleted,
replaced by 10.x.x.x.

[Bug 1935568] [NEW] after having a bug reported, locked screen, and coming back, ubuntu-bug -w leaves a gksudo dialog for dmesg open

2021-07-08 Thread Henning Sprang
Public bug reported:

I reported two bugs today, and both times, after having finished
reporting the bug, locking my screen, and logging back in, suddenly
there was a dialog asking for my sudo password so it can execute dmesg.

But I could neither hit cancel nor could I enter my password, it
apperaded that anything I did, especially clicks, made the window
*below* the dialog react.

First time I solved it by rebooting (because I had some packages to
upgrade anyway), second time by killing gnome-shell and letting it
restart.

This dialog definitely did not appear in the process of reporting the
bug, the first time it appeared on screen was minutes after completing
the bugreports in launchpad, plus locking and unlocking the screen
afterwards.

Might also be a problem with gnome-shell or gksudo(?), but it only ever
happened to me when using ubuntu-bug -w.

2021-07-08 Thread Brian Murray
Hello Simon, or anyone else affected,

Accepted systemd into groovy-proposed. The package will build now and be
available at
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/systemd/246.6-1ubuntu1.5 in a few
hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, what testing has been
performed on the package and change the tag from verification-needed-
groovy to verification-done-groovy. If it does not fix the bug for you,
please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-
failed-groovy. In either case, without details of your testing we will
not be able to proceed.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification .  Thank you in
advance for helping!

N.B. The updated package will be released to -updates after the bug(s)
fixed by this package have been verified and the package has been in
-proposed for a minimum of 7 days.

[Bug 1935559] [NEW] Cron script uses up all space in /run

2021-07-08 Thread Chris Newcomer
Public bug reported:

The /etc/cron.daily/aide script sets a variable $TMPBASE to "/run/aide".
Each time this script is run (daily), it moves the current data in
/run/aide/cron.daily to a directory with a random name:
/run/aide/cron.daily.old.XX.

When doing this, it preserves all the data from the previous run and
adds approximately the same amount of data from the current run.
Eventually, all this data will fill up the /run filesystem.

This bug will affect anyone that has run the CIS hardening scripts on
their systems. We would like this to be fixed so that this is not the
default behavior.

[Bug 1932028] Re: missing version dependency on distro-info

2021-07-08 Thread Grant Orndorff
** Description changed:

  [Impact]

  If a user on xenial or on bionic has an old version of distro-info and
  then upgraded ubuntu-advantage-tools, they will get periodic tracebacks
  from our update_messaging systemd unit, and enabling services with ua
  will always fail.

  The fix is to specify the required versions of distro-info that ubuntu-
  advantage-tools needs to function.

  Backporting this fix is necessary to ensure xenial and bionic users who
  happen to have an older version of distro-info are able to enable
  ubuntu-advantage services without first finding this bug, then manually
  upgrading distro-info.

  [Test Plan]

  This should be tested on both xenial and bionic. These test steps assume
  that the proposed version of ua to release is available in ppa:ua-
  client/staging - check with the ubuntu-advantage-tools team before
  proceeding to make sure this is the case.

  First reproduce the issue.

  In a xenial container:
-
  ```
  sudo apt install distro-info=0.14build1 distro-info-data=0.28
  sudo apt install ubuntu-advantage-tools
  sudo python3 /usr/lib/ubuntu-advantage/ua_update_messaging.py
  # expect a traceback
  sudo ua attach YOUR_TOKEN
  # expect error messages
  sudo ua detach
  # expect error messages
  ```

  In a bionic container:
-
  ```
  sudo apt install distro-info=0.18 distro-info-data=0.37
  sudo apt install ubuntu-advantage-tools
  sudo python3 /usr/lib/ubuntu-advantage/ua_update_messaging.py
  # expect a traceback
  sudo ua attach YOUR_TOKEN
  # expect error messages
  sudo ua detach
  # expect error messages
  ```

  To see the fix in action, on both xenial and bionic:
  ```
  sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ua-client/staging
  sudo apt-get update
  sudo apt install ubuntu-advantage-tools
  sudo python3 /usr/lib/ubuntu-advantage/ua_update_messaging.py
  # there should be no traceback or error
  sudo ua attach YOUR_TOKEN
  # expect success and no error messages
  sudo ua detach
  # expect success and no error messages
  ```

  [Where problems could occur]

- TODO
+ In order to require the correct versions for both xenial and bionic and
+ later releases, the Depends line is somewhat complex. The same line is
+ required under Build-Depends as well. So if there is a mistake, such as
+ if the version constraints incorrectly include a version they shouldn't,
+ then this could cause errors during build as well as during install.

  [Other Info]

- TODO
+ The complexity in the depends line is because of the following versions
+ of distro-info. This list includes which release they are one and which
+ ones will work as our dependency:
+
+ - xenial: 0.14build1   doesn't work
+ - xenial: 0.14ubuntu0.2works
+ - bionic: 0.18 doesn't work
+ - bionic: 0.18ubuntu0.18.04.1  works
+
+ focal and later have higher version numbers than 0.18
+
+ So to grab the correct version across all versions, we need to set a
+ minumum version of 0.18ubuntu0.18.04.1 OR get exactly 0.14ubuntu0.2, but
+ nothing in between.

[Bug 1931131] Re: Update the 465 and the 460 NVIDIA driver series

2021-07-08 Thread Francis Ginther
@albertomilone. I've completed the basic CUDA testing of the server
drivers. As with the prior version, the 450-server and 460-server
drivers passed across the generic kernels for bionic, focal, groovy,
hirsute and impish. This applies to both the dkms and lrm installations.
Impish was tested with the 5.11 kernel.

For the 418-server driver, the dkms driver passed for bionic, focal and
groovy did not work with hirsute or impish (both with the 5.11 kernel).
The LRM driver worked across all 5 series. This was the same behavior as
the prior version of the driver.

I plan on doing additional testing to get coverage on more platforms,
but this passes the minimal testing criteria.

[Bug 1791958] Re: iptables-restore is missing -w option

2021-07-08 Thread Andreas Hasenack
I tested this last change, and it does exactly what we wanted for
iptables, the tool. And since that behavior is shared with all tools of
the iptables suite, it means iptables-restore got that fix too (good!),
but it also introduces a change in behavior for iptables-restore (bad!).

When compared to the bionic 1.6.1 iptables:
(a) straight backport from 1.6.2
- iptables loses the implicit -w parameter, meaning it will fail right away if
it encounters the lock
- iptables-restore maintains the behavior, and grows the extra -w option

(b) massaged patches from comment #16
- iptables keeps the same behavior as in 1.6.1
- iptables-restore grows the implicit -w option, meaning it will block until
the lock is released

The locking code is shared by all tools in one .c file. Making it behave
differently whether it's iptables or iptables-restore being used is
kumbersome, and would make ubuntu the only one with this behavior.

Alternatively, this bug has actually a very decent workaround: wrap
iptables-restore in flock. That's the same locking mechanism that
iptables itself does, just internally.

Quick example: you want iptables-restore -w 2 file.iptables

Use:
flock -w 2 -x /run/xtables.lock iptables-restore file.iptables

You can even augment that a bit with -E , and have flock return
 if the lock cannot be acquired in the specified amount of time.

Of the two patch sets, it feels like (b) introduces the less worse behavior
change. Before iptables-restore would fail right away, now it can get stuck for
as long as the lock is held. Which is the iptables behavior already. But it's
still a change, and your script could stall for as long as the lock exists. You
should change it to use -w .

Option (a) has the danger that if you are not checking for errors in
your script, one or more iptables calls could fail, and you wouldn't
notice, leaving your firewall incomplete. I think this is a dangerous
change.

Considering bionic is an LTS, and the existence of the flock workaround
which is exactly what the code itself does, what do you guys think about
this SRU? Should we pick a patch and go with it, or reject the change
and recommend the flock() alternative?

[Bug 1934286] Re: Update the ModemManager to 1.16.6-2 to support some modems in Focal and Hirsute releases.

2021-07-08 Thread Brian Murray
Looking at the changes in the libmbim upload for Focal I noticed that
mbim-proxy was moved from /usr/lib/libmbim/ to /usr/libexec/. This ends
up moving a binary that is not included in $PATH and is installed by
default on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS afaict. I don't know how many people would
have scripts expecting libmbim to be in /usr/lib/libmbim/ but I don't
think changing it out from under them is great. Could we patch the
package so it exists in both places?

libmbim (1.22.0-2.2) unstable; urgency=medium

  * Non-maintainer upload.
  * Bump debhelper to 12, no further changes
  * Bump Standards-Version to 4.5.0 (no further changes)
  * Move mbim-proxy to /usr/libexec (Closes: #954145)

[Bug 1935083] Re: Universal Access / Magnification / Zoom tracking problem

2021-07-08 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a
specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu
in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source
packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs
about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your
bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage.
You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1935083/+editstatus and add the
package name in the text box next to the word Package.

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you

[Bug 1934286] Re: Update the ModemManager to 1.16.6-2 to support some modems in Focal and Hirsute releases.

2021-07-08 Thread Brian Murray
Hello Jerry, or anyone else affected,

Accepted modemmanager into focal-proposed. The package will build now
and be available at
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/modemmanager/1.16.6-2~20.04 in a
few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, what testing has been
performed on the package and change the tag from verification-needed-
focal to verification-done-focal. If it does not fix the bug for you,
please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-
failed-focal.

[Bug 1935083] [NEW] Universal Access / Magnification / Zoom tracking problem

2021-07-08 Thread Leona Devon
Public bug reported:

Hi there.

background:
I have a visual disability so I use the zoom / magnifier feature.
Problem:
Firstly, if on a dialogue screen, for example settings, and you moved the
mouse, to view another part of the box, t would snap back to the centre, it
didn't seem to matter what tracking option I selected, it did the same.
Expectation:
I would expect the zoom area to remain focused on the mouse pointer, unless I
hit a key if focused
on a text box or other action button.

Problem 2:
Another is, when writing in a text box, say like this form, it will track to
the top left of the screen for no good reason, meaning I have to find the mouse
and pull it back again, it will not track back when hitting the keyboard, these
are easy to reproduce and I've made short vids of this happening if that helps
(let me know where to post them if it does help).
Expectation:
Here I would expect the magnifier to centre on the text cursor and move along
with it, unless the mouse point is moved, then move back if a key is pressed
again.

Be great if we can get this bugs squished, let me know what information
you need to help track this problem down.

Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, Universal Access, Magnification turned on, sorry don't
know the package name.

Thanks.

Leona.

[Bug 1935082] [NEW] move libnvidia-egl-wayland1 package from universe into main

2021-07-08 Thread Kyle McKay
Public bug reported:

The libnvidia-gl 470 drivers have not yet been officially released.

However, there is a 470.42.01 BETA available.

And Alberto Milone has been kind enough to provide an experimental
PPA build of the 470 BETA for testing:

  https://launchpad.net/~albertomilone/+archive/ubuntu/nvidia-testing

The release notes for the 470 BETA discuss performance under xwayland
here:

Quoting from those release notes:

> The following are necessary to enable accelerated rendering on
> Xwayland with the NVIDIA driver:
>
> * DRM KMS must be enabled. See Chapter 35, Direct Rendering Manager
> Kernel Modesetting (DRM KMS) for details.
>
> * The installed copy of Xwayland should be a build from the master

>
> * If using the GNOME desktop environment, kms-modifiers must be
> enabled through gsettings. This can be done with the following
>   command:
> gsettings set org.gnome.mutter experimental-features [\"kms-modifiers\"]

The first item is easily accomplished with something like this:

/etc/modprobe.d/nvidia-drm.conf:
options nvidia-drm modeset=1

For the second item, commit 763f4fb278 in the freedesktop.org xserver
repository cherry-picks commit c468d34c (and an associated, not
mentioned, but also required commit) and is first included in the
xwayland-21.1.1.901 release on 2021-06-30.

For the third item it appears that libxcb version 1.13 or later has
been widely in use for some years now.

For the fourth item, egl-wayland version 1.1.7 was released from the
upstream repository on 2021-05-11:

  https://github.com/NVIDIA/egl-wayland/releases/tag/1.1.7

The fifth item, if needed, is easily accomplished via the "gsettings"
command mentioned in those release notes.

Which brings us to the point of this request.

The impish repositories for the forthcoming 21.10 release at this
point now include xwayland-21.1.1.901 and, with the kind assistance
of Timo Aaltonen, libnvidia-egl-wayland1 1.1.7 (including the i386
version to facilitate running the i386 version of libnvidia-gl for
32-bit only apps on a 64-bit system).

In other words, impish is all ready to go for full "accelerated
rendering on Xwayland with the NVIDIA driver" just as soon as an
official 470 release of the nvidia driver makes its way into the
"restricted" repository.

According to:

  https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Repositories/Ubuntu

The "main" repository is "Canonical-supported free and open-source
software." while the "restricted" repository is "Proprietary drivers
for devices."

However, it also says, "The Ubuntu Install CDs contain software
from the "Main" and "Restricted" repositories," but makes no mention
of any "Universe" software being included on those CDs.

This page:

  https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Repositories#Restricted

goes on to say about the "restricted" repository:

> we make exceptions for a small set of tools and drivers that make
> it possible to install Ubuntu and its free applications on everyday
> hardware. These proprietary drivers are kept in the restricted
> component. Please note that it may not be possible to provide
> complete support for this software because we are unable to fix
> the software ourselves

In this case, the problem is that the proprietry drivers being "kept
in the restricted component" (in particular the upcoming release
of the libnvidia-gl 470 drivers) require a package from the "universe"
repository (the libnvidia-egl-wayland1 package) to avoid suffering
from crippled graphics performance when running Xwayland.

Since, apparently, no "universe" software has been included on the
Ubuntu Install CDs, once the Nvidia 470 drivers are officially
released, the performance on Nvidia graphics hardware will suffer
when running Xwayland after installation from the CDs unless an the
additional libnvidia-egl-wayland1 package from "universe" is
downloaded and installed.

Installation in security sensitive environments where access to
external internet connections has been deliberately cut off comes
to mind as an example where this arrangement could be a problem.

This situation would be easily remedied by moving the
libnvidia-egl-wayland1 package from "universe" into "main" and
making sure it's included on the Ubuntu Install CDs.

It's a small package (less than 30KiB for the package, less than
70KiB installed -- double that to include both amd64 and i386 in
order to support 32-bit running on 64-bit).

How about it?  Can the

[Bug 1935081] [NEW] FTBFS: Cannot build with BUG_STAT_MISSING defined

2021-07-08 Thread Heather Ellsworth
Public bug reported:

0.3-8 is in hirsute and builds fine with :
gcc -g -O2 -fdebug-prefix-map=/<>=. -fstack-protector-strong
-Wformat -Werror=format-security -Wall -fPIC -DLINUX_PAM -I. -DBUG_STAT_MISSING
-Wdate-time -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -UBUG_STAT_MISSING   -c
pam_alreadyloggedin.c

0.3-9 in impish proposed fails with :
gcc -g -O2 -ffile-prefix-map=/<>=. -flto=auto -ffat-lto-objects
-fstack-protector-strong -Wformat -Werror=format-security -Wall -fPIC
-DLINUX_PAM -I. -DBUG_STAT_MISSING -Wdate-time -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2  -c
pam_alreadyloggedin.c

Comparing these shows that -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 and -UBUG_STAT_MISSING
were lost in the 0.3-9 release. This comes as a result of the
debian/rules being overhauled to use dh sequencer. Before the rules
update, it had :

export CPPFLAGS = $(shell dpkg-buildflags --get CPPFLAGS) \
-D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 \
-UBUG_STAT_MISSING \

This block is gone in impish, so BUG_STAT_MISSING is no longer being
undefined (it is defined over in the makefile.diff). And
pam_alreadyloggedin.c uses __xstat if BUG_STAT_MISSING is defined,
leading to our failure.

[Bug 1934286] Please test proposed package

2021-07-08 Thread Brian Murray
Hello Jerry, or anyone else affected,

Accepted libqmi into hirsute-proposed. The package will build now and be
available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libqmi/1.28.6-1~21.04
in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, what testing has been
performed on the package and change the tag from verification-needed-
hirsute to verification-done-hirsute. If it does not fix the bug for
you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to
verification-failed-hirsute. In either case, without details of your
testing we will not be able to proceed.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification .  Thank you in
advance for helping!

N.B. The updated package will be released to -updates after the bug(s)
fixed by this package have been verified and the package has been in
-proposed for a minimum of 7 days.

[Bug 1891318] Re: [SRU] Update to vala 0.48.16 in focal

2021-07-08 Thread Princeton Ferro
Just chiming in here that tools like the Vala Language Server
(https://github.com/Prince781/vala-language-server) depend on recent
bugfixes in Vala. Going through with this proposal would allow people to
develop Vala software on Focal without having to rely on PPAs.

[Bug 1935066] Re: Package requires network access during the build

2021-07-08 Thread Sergio Durigan Junior
Thanks for the patch, Athos. It LGTM.

Given that the same problem happens on Debian, and that incidentally I
am part of the debian-go team and can upload the package, let's fix it
there and then the package will automatically be sync'ed with Ubuntu.

Thanks again.
