[Bug 1962135] [NEW] Upgrade defalult gstreamer version 1.16 minor version on ubuntu-20.04

2022-02-23 Thread kunal das
Public bug reported:

On ubuntu-20.04 "apt-get" default installs gstreamer version 1.16.2,
though gstreamer has subsequent minor version gst-1.16.3 with fixes
incorporated.

Hence, Ideally default gstreamer-1.16 minor version support with
ubuntu-20.04 should be upgraded to use gstreamer version 1.16.3

** Affects: gstreamer1.0 (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

2022-02-23 Thread kunal das
Public bug reported:

Following gstreamer critical warning observed on gstreamer version 1.16 on
ubuntu-20.04 with nvidia specific gst-v4l2 decoder pipeline:
"GStreamer-CRITICAL **: 13:33:23.770: gst_buffer_resize_range: assertion
'bufmax >= bufoffs + offset + size' failed"

It seems fix for the issue is already incorporated on gstreamer version 1.18
with below:
https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/gstreamer/gstreamer/-/commit/a1b41b2b2493069365a8274c6a544e6799a5a8df

We need to backport above fix on top of gst-1.16 on ubuntu-20.04 in
order to have out-of-box fix available with default gstreamer-1.0
version 1.16 on ubuntu-20.04

[Bug 1962133] [NEW] Intermittent very low fps(sometimes zero) with few specific h264 and h265 RTSP input streams sources when used with gst-v4l2 based gstreamer-1.0(version gst-1.14.5) decode pipeline

2022-02-23 Thread kunal das
Public bug reported:

Few specific h264 and h265 RTSP input streams sources when used with
nvidia specific gst-v4l2 based gstreamer-1.0 (version gst-1.14 and
ubuntu-18.04) decode pipeline intermittently yields very low fps (in the
range of [~0/1 fps]).

Issue seems caused by the gst_video_decoder_drain_out function
erroneously getting called inside gst_video_decoder_chain_forward
function.

Required changes to fix the issue seems available with gst-1.16 and to
resolve the issue need to backport the relevant OSS fixes from gst-1.16
to gst-1.14 on ubuntu-18.04.

The mentioned issue was reported on with:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=796771

Corresponding fix was incorporated with below:
https://github.com/GStreamer/gst-plugins-base/commit/62cb08404b9bd055c45cc1d5b71141e927ad748a

We need to backport above fix on top of gst-1.14.5 on ubuntu-18.04 in
order to have out-of-box fix available with default gstreamer-1.0
version 1.14 on ubuntu-18.04

[Bug 1961739] Re: PS/2 Keyboard wakeup from s2idle not functioning on AMD Yellow Carp platform

2022-02-23 Thread You-Sheng Yang
SRU: https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/kernel-
team/2022-February/128284.html (J/I/oem-5.14)

** Description changed:

+ [SRU Justification]
+
+ [Impact]
+
+ On some platforms, PS/2 keyboard cannot wake system up from s2idle.
+
+ [Fix]
+
+ Mainline commit cb1f65c1e142 ("PM: s2idle: ACPI: Fix wakeup interrupts
+ handling") picks up the missed wakeup interrupt.
+
+ [Test Case]
+
+ Use button press on PS/2 keyboard to wake suspended system.
+
+ [Where problems could occur]
+
+ It may still discard irqs under some very rare corner cases that are not
+ yet identified, but the implementation can be extended easily when
+ necessary.
+
+ [Other Info]
+
+ This affects 5.4+ kernels and has been proposed for linux-stable. While
+ this is merged in v5.17-rc4, linux-unstable will have this soon so
+ nomination is skipped.
+
+ == original bug report ==
+
With bug 1957026 and bug 1960434, suspend/resume using rtc and power
button work as expected, but PS/2 or USB keyboard still do not work well
as an wakeup source. This focus on fixes for PS/2.

[Bug 1951490] Re: Can't print after update to 4.13

2022-02-23 Thread Christian Ehrhardt 
BTW one thing to be careful to not mix is here is minor and sub-minor version.
The patch mentions to only be for 4.15 and earlier.
This matches [1] saying "rpc_server Removed".
But while the .17 might be misleading at first it is 4.13.17 that it in focal
and impish - so the .13 matters here. And those need a fix. You can also see
that in the man-page which for all these (pre 4.16) will mention "Default:
rpc_server:SERVER = embedded".

We can see that Upstream prepares those for the next stable releases, but not
4.13 AFAICS:

$ git log --all --grep="dcesrv_core: wrap gensec_" --oneline
# plus adding which branch they are on:
v4-16-stable 20f84f11651 dcesrv_core: wrap gensec_*() calls in
[un]become_root() calls
v4-15-test e26270cbe58 dcesrv_core: wrap gensec_*() calls in
[un]become_root() calls
v4-14-test 9e3c363030d dcesrv_core: wrap gensec_*() calls in
[un]become_root() calls
master 0651fa474cd dcesrv_core: wrap gensec_*() calls in
[un]become_root() calls
dev-branch ed345c6bc34 dcesrv_core: wrap gensec_*() calls in
[un]become_root() calls

So for 4.15 (jammy) we could just wait to 4.15.6 - but then the SRU
requires it to be fixed there first and we do not know when this will
be released.

So the approach from here should IMHO be to prep:
9e3c363030d -> 4.13.17 -> Focal
9e3c363030d -> 4.13.17 -> Impish
e26270cbe58 -> 4.15.5  -> Jammy

Based on the backport by Marc I have prepared how I'd think a Focal upload
could look like.

- check and adopt my branch

[Bug 1957932] Re: [MIR] rustc, cargo

2022-02-23 Thread Steve Beattie
I reviewed rustc 1.57.0+dfsg1+llvm-0ubuntu2 as checked into jammy
(but also peeked briefly at 1.58.1+dfsg1~ubuntu1-0ubuntu1~ppa5
in Simon's ppa). This shouldn't be considered a full audit but
rather a quick gauge of maintainability, and this is a bit more
streamlined review than normal due to the nature of Rust.

Rust is a programming language and runtime environment that is
intended to be a modern systems language. In general, the Ubuntu
Security team views more widespread usage of Rust as a positive
thing; the primary drawback being, like Go before it, the choice
to static link everything makes security updates more challenging
for both the deliverer and users on limited bandwidth.

The Built-Using: mechanism at least gives us a chance to determine
what needs to be rebuilt when a rust library has a security
vulnerability that needs addressing. In order to get Built-Using:
applied to Rust applications in jammy, does this mean that every
Rust application needs at a minimum a no-change rebuild before
jammy is released? If so, is there a plan for that?

I'd like to ask what is the support expectation and commitment
from the Foundations team for the rust toolchain and the separated
out LLVM:

 - Is the expectation that version bumps of rust, possibly along
with version bumps of LLVM necessary, will be brought back to
   22.04 LTS?

 - If so, does the source package need a versioned name, as done
   for other toolchains?

 - As more thing depend on rust either wholly or partially
(e.g. the ongoing work on the Linux kernel), is there an
expectation this will change for 24.04 LTS?

For CVE history, there are 21 CVEs in the security team's tracker
that affect Rust, 20 in the standard library. (There is also a
very recent additional issue that affects the vendored copy of
rust-crossbeam in the rustc source package.) Generally, upstream
looks responsive to security issues.

Given all the above, the Ubuntu Security provisionally acks rustc
for main, assuming the questions above can be answered.

libjcat can be de-couple with fwupd SRU. However with the new fwupd, we
need libjcat also to be upgraded, or it will fail with new firmware from
LVFS.

[Bug 1946835] Re: Merge open-iscsi from Debian unstable for 22.04

2022-02-23 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package open-iscsi - 2.1.5-1ubuntu1

---
open-iscsi (2.1.5-1ubuntu1) jammy; urgency=medium

  * Merge with Debian unstable (LP: #1946835). Remaining changes:
- debian/tests: Add Ubuntu autopkgtest suite:
  + d/t/README-boot-test.md: document test design
  + d/t/control: register testsuite
+ d/t/get-image: helper to fetch an ubuntu cloud image
+ d/t/patch-image: helper to modify an ubuntu cloud image
  + d/test-open-iscsi.py, d/t/testlib.py: various qa regression tests
+ d/t/testsuite: helper to invoke qa regression tests
+ d/t/tgt-boot-test: test using tgt to boot from iscsi
  + d/t/xkvm: helper to spawn a VM
- Stop producing udebs on i386 where we no longer have d-i or a kernel.
- d/README.Debian, d/extra/startup-checks.sh, d/open-iscsi-udeb.start,
d/open-iscsi.postinst: Apply Ubuntu branding to iqn initiator name
- d/control: Transition from libopeniscsiusr0.2.0 to libopeniscsiusr
- d/t/test-open-iscsi.py: adopt to resolvectl (systemd v249 compat)
  * Dropped changes, included in Debian:
- d/iscsid.service: Let iscsid systemd job run in privileged containers
  but not in unprivileged ones
- debian/extra/initramfs.local-top: handle iSCSI iBFT DHCP to correctly
run ipconfig to gather all DHCP config info, including DNS search
  domain, which iBFT can't provide.
- Remove initramfs interfaces stamp in case no iscsi devs mounted
If iscsi root was requested, but no iscsi devices were mounted, remove
the initramfs interfaces stamp file. Meaning, that on shutdown there is
no 30s delay, whilst trying to re-establish iscsi login to perform a
  logout.
- add IPv6 support
  + Source /run/net6-*.conf when needed.
  + debian/extra/initramfs.local-top: handle IPv6 configs being shipped
in DEVICE6 or /run/net6-*.conf in the initramfs, so we can fill in
/run/initramfs/open-iscsi.interface
- d/rules, d/open-iscsi.finalrd, d/control: ship the finalrd iscsi
logout hook and recommend finalrd and busybox for the logout hook
  to work.
- Make iscsid socket-activated to only activate it as needed:
+ debian/open-iscsi.service: do not start or check iscsid.service
  + debian/rules: install and enable iscsid.socket
  + debian/open-iscsi.postinst:
+ run restart logic only if service is running on upgrade
+ drop no longer reachable upgrade path that affects iscsid
+ disable iscsid.service on upgrade
+ handle iscsid.socket to be started if the service is not running yet
+ d/iscsi-disk.rules: Add a udev rule so that iscsid.service will be
run when udev disks are attached.
  + d/iscsid.service: Remove ExecStop= directive.
+ debian/tests/install: fix tests to work with socket activation
  + debian/patches/lp1755858-default-iscsid_conf-to-iscsid_socket.patch
- debian/open-iscsi.service: Start open-iscsi systemd job when either
  /etc/iscsi/nodes or /sys/class/iscsi_session have content.
- Prevent network interface that contains iscsi root from bouncing
during boot or going down during shutdown if the system is using
  resolvconf or ifupdown:
  + d/iscsi-network-interface.rules
  + d/extra/net-interface-handler
- debian/extra/initramfs.hook: add ib_iser to the list of modules
included in the initramfs, so that we can in principle support
  iscsi root on infiniband.
- debian/open-iscsi.kmod drop: (LP 1833586)
no static module list is needed if we let iscsid load modules itself.
- d/extra/initramfs.local-{top,bottom}: move removal of
  open-iscsi.interface file from local-top to local-bottom,
and fix shell quoting issue that would result in /run/initramfs/
open-iscsi.interface always being removed (LP 1872813)
- d/rules: Don't FTBFS due to warnings new in gcc10 regarding bounds and
initialization, because upstream's gcc10 support is incomplete. This
change can be dropped when upstream has completed their gcc support.
  * Added changes
- d/rules: remove duplicated dh_installsystemd section

[Bug 1951490] Re: Can't print after update to 4.13

2022-02-23 Thread Christian Ehrhardt 
After talking with Marc and reading into the case a bit more this is a
coincidence that it fails with the 4.17 update [1] in Nov 2021. Instead
it seems it is caused by the "Windows 7 with 2021-10 monthly rollup
patch (KB5006743)" and similar in the same time-frame.

Nevertheless worth to be fixed, just it will have to be a normal SRU.
Taking back the security assignment and the Server Team will try to drive a
normal SRU for this.

Since the upload by mdeslaur to the security PPA is now partially in
Focal already (the 2:4.13.17~dfsg-0ubuntu0.21.04.1 part of it) the LP
debdiff is odd. I'm hereby attaching just the added delta on top that
worked. IMHO that is almost ready, just some deb3-headers and creating a
good SRU template here in the bug.

@Sebastian - thanks for testing, when this is going to be released we
might need you again for this. To be clear, is this just "print from
normal windows user to a samba printer" or is there anything more
complex to this?

[Bug 1892369] Re: Impossible to skip integrity test for ubuntu-server 20.04.1 iso

2022-02-23 Thread Jamie Walker
This is still completely unworkable for me. I'm installing 20.04.3 on a
rack server via the LOM, and at no time while the system was starting up
did I see anywhere I could set command line options - it went from the
firmware talking about scanning the bus to "No Signal" to the kernel
starting to boot in the space of about 3 seconds.

And even if there was a splash screen that allowed me to press a key to
set options as comments above imply there should be, it takes the
firmware in this box two and half minutes to get to the point where the
ISO is booting. So to make use of it, I'd have to be glued to my monitor
for that long to make sure I didn't miss the window of how many seconds
it's supposed to appear for. I could be spending more time waiting for
the opportunity to press a key than I would spend answering the
installer questions.

As things stands, #11 appears to be the best solution I've got and I
think that's absolutely ridiculous.

[Bug 1961864] Re: fwupd daemon failed verifying firmware signature

2022-02-23 Thread Crag Wang
It works well with libjcat 0.1.4 from comment #7, we need uprev libjcat
as mentioned in the bug description to fulfilling the runtime
dependency.

0.1.4 as a minimum version of libjcat is now required by upstream fwupd,

[Bug 1961898] Re: chromium-browser is refusing to start

2022-02-23 Thread Chris Guiver
I've added the requested detail; the file was too big so I've limited it
a 'little'.

journalctl --no-pager --since "2022-02-21" >blah

NOTE HOWEVER, I rebooted the system a little while ago & snaps are
loading again.. eg.

guiverc@d960-ubu2:~$ wethr
Melbourne, Australia: 24.14C ☁☁

& I have `chromium` working now which is what told me you requested the
extra detail.

I don't know the issue, but it appears resolved.

[Bug 1918265] Re: Random boot failure with Ubuntu 20.04 / grub 2.04 and Hyper-V 2012r2

2022-02-23 Thread Matthew Bassett
Agreed. this has been making me crazy. Hyper-V Server 2012R2 up to date.
Ubuntu 20.04 VM. If I have VLAN 10 tagged on a NIC it will bootloop. If
I untag the VM, it boots fine, and then halfway through the boot I can
add back the VLAN 10 tag and it works fine, until it automatically
reboots for updates, and then its stuck offline again

Dropped changes:
  - debian/README.sysctl: Debian has added this information.

debian/99-protect-links.conf, so it can be safely installed again

[Bug 1936907] Re: [MIR] ADSys

2022-02-23 Thread Seth Arnold
I reviewed adsys 0.8 as checked into jammy. This shouldn't be
considered a full audit but rather a quick gauge of maintainability. As
usual with golang code, there's vastly more code in the package than we've
authored, and it's not feasible to review the entirety.

adsys allows network administrators to include Ubuntu systems in Windows
Group Policy ecosystem. There's easy support for a lot of individual
tunable elements, as well as generic support for running both machine and
user scripts on login, logout, etc.

- CVE History:
  none :)
- Build-Depends?
  Build-Depends: debhelper-compat (= 13),
   dh-apport,
   dh-golang,
   golang-go (>= 2:1.16~),
   libsmbclient-dev,
   libdbus-1-dev,
   python3,
   python3-samba,
   samba-dsdb-modules,
   libpam0g-dev,
   samba,
   dbus,
- pre/post inst/rm scripts?
mostly added automatically by dh_ helpers; registers and unregisters pam
module, enables systemd units, purges and unmasks systemd units, etc.
- init scripts?
  none
- systemd units?
sets up socket activation, sets up timers, refreshes policies, runs
machine scripts in machine units, runs user scripts in user units
- dbus services?
  none
- setuid binaries?
  none
- binaries in PATH?
  adsysd, adsysctl
- sudo fragments?
/etc/sudoers.d/99-adsys-privilege-enforcement is under control of the
  application:

"%admin ALL=(ALL) !ALL\n"
"%sudo ALL=(ALL:ALL) !ALL\n"

contentSudo += fmt.Sprintf("\"%s\" ALL=(ALL:ALL) ALL\n", e)

these are very powerful; I'd appreciate a second set of eyes here :)

- polkit files?
  yes, seems reasonable
- udev rules?
  none
- unit tests / autopkgtests?
yes, many tests, run during the build
- cron jobs?
none, systemd timer units used instead
- Build logs:
the shell completion files are dumped during build, it's a bit noisy,
  but otherwise looks clean

- Processes spawned?
Yes -- pam module, copied from pam_exec.c
Yes -- adsys spawned from the user manager will run scripts, seems okay
- Memory management?
  Most is golang, safe enough
pam module has some memory leaks; when reported to upstream pam_exec.c
folks, they appear to be leaning towards leaking even more memory :) so
  probably fine.
- File IO?
  Some issues, raised elsewhere.
- Logging?
  pam module looked fine
- Environment variable usage?
  NO_COLOR and KRB5CCNAME, seemed safe
- Use of privileged functions?
  chown
- Use of cryptography / random number sources etc?
  none
- Use of temp files?
  none
- Use of networking?
grpc; to the extent I looked at it, it felt safe enough
- Use of WebKit?
  none
- Use of PolicyKit?
  yes, internal/authorizer/authorizer.go
looks up process start time by searching *backwards* through
  /proc/pid/stat file for a ), then looking forward 19 fields. I didn't
double-check the math but it sure sounds promising.

- Any significant cppcheck results?
memory leaks in pam_adsys.c, upstream for inspiration pam_exec didn't seem
bothered
- Any significant Coverity results?
  none
- Any significant shellcheck results?
  none
- Any significant bandit results?
  none

adsys is carefully written, well-documented, and didrocks and jibel were
very responsive to comments and feedback.

Security team ACK for promoting adsys to main.

I filed a few bugs along the way:

https://github.com/grpc/grpc-go/issues/5137
https://github.com/olekukonko/tablewriter/issues/199

And some miscellaneous notes I took:

Are there any conditions that can be added to adsys-boot.service to make
it less likely to spam the journal every five seconds for ten hours when on an
airplane?

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/adsys/+bug/1961459

pam_adsys.c update_policy() arggv leak in fork() failure
pam_adsys.c update_machine_policy() arggv leak in fork() failure
pam_adsys.c update_machine_policy() -- status != 0 looks like it ought to
work but I don't think that's how that API is supposed to be used
pam_adsys.c pam_sm_open_session() -- gethostname() indentation is funny

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/adsys/+bug/1961458

[redacted]

./internal/policies/scripts/scripts.go -- typo %qto

./conf.example/adsys.yaml
./doc/5.-The-adsys-daemon.md
Both these use /tmp/adsysd/ .. paths in configuration files -- is this
the recommended way to use adsys? It'd be nice if the configs were "real",
production-ready, defaults, etc.

[Bug 1960863] Re: armv8 paca: poly1305 users see segfaults when pointer authentication in use on AWS Graviton 3 instances

2022-02-23 Thread Matthew Ruffell
Performing verification for openssl on Focal.

An affected user performed the verification, due to c7g instance types
being in "Preview" state on Amazon AWS, and not generally accessible.

The user started a c7g instance, and checked they had openssl
1.1.1f-1ubuntu2.10 from -updates.

They attempted to use the poly1035 MAC downloading the file from the
testcase:

$ curl https://services.gradle.org/distributions/gradle-7.2-bin.zip --output
gradle-7.2.bin
% Total% Received % Xferd Average Speed TimeTime Time Current
 Dload Upload Total SpentLeft Speed
  0 00 00 0 0 0 --:--:-- --:--:-- --:--:--
0Segmentation fault (core dumped)

They can reproduce the issue.

They then enabled -proposed from ports.ubuntu.com mirror, and installed
openssl 1.1.1f-1ubuntu2.11.

They again tried downloading the file:

$ curl https://services.gradle.org/distributions/gradle-7.2-bin.zip --output
gradle-7.2.bin
% Total% Received % Xferd Average Speed TimeTime Time Current
 Dload Upload Total SpentLeft Speed
  0 00 00 0 0 0 --:--:-- --:--:-- --:--:-- 0

(note the file doesn't actually download due to curl not automatically
following 301 redirects):

$ curl https://services.gradle.org/distributions/gradle-7.2-bin.zip --output
gradle-7.2.bin --verbose
...
* SSL connection using TLSv1.2 / ECDHE-ECDSA-CHACHA20-POLY1305
...
< HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently
< Location: https://downloads.gradle-dn.com/distributions/gradle-7.2-bin.zip
...

curl does not segfault, and exits successfully. The package in -proposed
fixes the issue. Happy to mark as verified.

[Bug 1961910] Re: Ubuntu 22 crash when updating, broken network manager and cannot report bug

2022-02-23 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It sounds like some part of the system has crashed. To
help us find the cause of the crash please follow these steps:

1. Look in /var/crash for crash files and if found run:
ubuntu-bug YOURFILE.crash
Then tell us the ID of the newly-created bug.

2. If step 1 failed then look at https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where
ID is the content of file /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine.
Do you find any links to recent problems on that page? If so then please
send the links to us.

3. If step 2 also failed then apply the workaround from bug 994921,
reboot, reproduce the crash, and retry step 1.

Please take care to avoid attaching .crash files to bugs as we are
unable to process them as file attachments. It would also be a security
risk for yourself.

upgrading the network-manager from 1.35.8X to the higher.

Because co-installability of sssd and nfs is not a constraint. Packages are
allowed to coexist in the release pocket that conflict and are not
co-installable.

But yes, this will all settle out when sssd migrates.

[Bug 1962060] [NEW] problem in libreoffice draw

2022-02-23 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I am running libreoffice-draw 1:6.4.2-0ubuntu3 on an amd64 cpu under
Ubuntu 20.04. The desktop mgr is gnome-flashback 3.36.1-1ubuntu1

I want to change the properties of text in a textbox, but cannot see the
"tools" menu, and so cannot make sub- and super-scripts, bold, etc.

Also, drawings created in my previous Draw (in Ubuntu 16.04) don't
import correctly - especially text objects. For example, sub- and
super-scripts don't import well - instead I see lots of solid black
triangles with white exclamation points.

I rummaged around the web looking for solutions but found mainly old bug
reports and no useful resolutions, and the "DrawGuide 7.1" under "Text
Formatting" only refers to toolbars that do not appear on my screen

Why, oh why, have you made things so very complicated?

I understand that it is in the nature of Developers to develop, but how
about (like gnome-flashback) giving the option of a slightly less
capable "retro-interface" so that users don't have to fight their way
through myriad changes (and bugs) to use the new version (which I
haven't figured out how to avoid). It would greatly assist our
productivity.

Happy to discuss this further.

Best Regards,

  eter...@whoi.edu

Sssd mas rebuilt, but it hasn't migrated yet. I don't know why Britney
migrated nfs-utils without the rebuilt sssd. In any case, this should be
temporary.

depends on libnfsidmap1 whereas sssd depends on libnfsidmap2? I can't

Public bug reported:

Hello
The message is

Command: mount -o zfsutil -t zfs rpool/ROOT/ubuntu_ui69ph /root// Message:
filesystem 'rpool/ROOT/ubuntu_ui69ph' can not be mounted: Permission denied
filesystem 'rpool/ROOT/ubuntu_ui69ph' can not be mounted: Permission denied

Hello
I recently installed an encrypted ZFS 22.04 version.
She boots well.
I can do the updates and reboot except that now the reboot is impossible
because of the message above.
I suspect that access to the encryption keys has become impossible.

The reason could be a borrowing of these keys by another O.S. with poor quality
playback. For example forget to free the key file
because the incident is systematic

[Bug 1962050] Re: libobject-pad-slotattr-X-perl: Object::Pad::SlotAttr::X is replaced by Object::Pad::FieldAttr::X

2022-02-23 Thread Dan Bungert
** Description changed:

+ Archive Team,
+
+ Please remove the following packages:
+ libobject-pad-slotattr-final-perl
+ libobject-pad-slotattr-isa-perl
+ libobject-pad-slotattr-lazyinit-perl
+ libobject-pad-slotattr-trigger-perl
+
+ Justification
+ 1. All 4 packages above are failing in autopkgtest with the same error:
+ register_slot_attribute() is now deprecated; use register_field_attribute()
+ 2. All 4 would pass if this usage was updated.
+ 3. Upstream is aware of this issue, having corrected it in now renamed
packages
+ 4. Debian is aware of it, in the bug report that this was created from where
they plan to remove these in favor of packages renamed as
libobject-pad-fieldattr-X-perl
+ 5. None of them have reverse dependencies
+
+ Thanks!

This warning comes from Object::Pad 0.60 which renamed 'slots' to
  'fields'.

Now in libobject-pad-slotattr-final-perl we could silence the
autopkgtest warnings or we could patch the code but still the module
and the package would be called *slot* …

So I looked at the MetaCPAN, and indeed, there is a renamed
  distribution available: https://metacpan.org/dist/Object-Pad-FieldAttr-Final

I guess we should replace libobject-pad-slotattr-final-perl with
  libobject-pad-fieldattr-final-perl …

-
Well, and this is not the only package with 'slot':

  % apt-cache --names-only search libobject-pad-slot | grep -v dbgsym
  libobject-pad-slotattr-final-perl - declare Object::Pad slots readonly after
construction
libobject-pad-slotattr-isa-perl - apply class type constraints to Object::Pad
slots
  libobject-pad-slotattr-lazyinit-perl - lazily initialise Object::Pad slots at
first read
libobject-pad-slotattr-trigger-perl - invoke an instance method after a
:writer accessor

-
  Cheers,
  gregor

[Bug 1961901] Re: 3.6.2-1 FTBFS in Jammy on x86/s390x

2022-02-23 Thread Miriam España Acebal
For arm64, the execution of test 15 (/wmem/datastruct/tree) of 37 -
suite_unittests ends in SIGSEGV.

Adding the compilation flag "-moutline-atomics" didn't work... I'm
still investigating.

[Bug 1962055] Re: Ubuiquity shows black boxes for installing alongside

2022-02-23 Thread Erich Eickmeyer 
** Description changed:

Upon testing Ubuntu Studio 20.04.4's candidate image, I stumbled upon an
issue in Ubiquity which makes the auto-resize functionality less than
  useful.

In the resize portion when you determine disk allocation, only a black
box was being displayed for each partition/OS. This normally shows
information such as size being used and other information such as
operating system in question. This information is black text, so this
black box is showing black text on a black background.
