Signed-off-by: Chia-Lin Kao (AceLan)
Signed-off-by: Timo Aaltonen

Replace the warning to debug info to avoid the error message.

[Test]
Verified on HW with Intel wifi card, no errors after boot.

[Where problems could occur]
It may break Intel wifi driver.
Change the debug info only, it's unlikely.

The issue is on oem-5.14 only, no need for other kernel version.

  5.15.0-25-generic

After recent updates (i suspect yaru-theme) my hexchat text spacing
looks changed with too less spacing at the bottom nearby the chat area

Things i have tested to influence this: (on a hexchat with Mono 14 as
  font)

*maximizing hexchat window makes the text less space (with dock at bottom)
*minimizing to a smaller window makes text spacing look better (with dock at
bottom)

*maximizing hexchat window with dock at left, gives too much spacing
*minimizing to a smaller window makes text look better (with dock at left)

*on hexchat font Mono 16 space gap grows wider (with dock at bottom)

+ *testing on hexchat with channels in tree-view can also influence

2022-04-14 Thread TheRogueZeta
Now that the beta is out for Jammy, I installed it to a SSD and added
the PPA posted in #12 but I could not get the SMBus access to work. I
think this is because the one shipping with the beta is newer than the
one in the PPA.

I don't really know what's going on with the agent, I just assumed it
crashes. I found out that the agent stops working only when the
repository is cloned, when connected to the server by key, it works
well. The problem concerns only the arm platform, because I don’t see
this on x86_64.

[Bug 1969162] [NEW] bad interaction between snapd and update-notifier when snapd package is being upgraded

2022-04-14 Thread Steve Langasek
Public bug reported:

On a release upgrade from impish to jammy, I noticed that the dbus
postinst hung for 10 minutes. It hung trying to make two calls to
canonical-livepatch via /usr/share/update-notifier/notify-reboot-
required: first a call to /snap/bin/canonical-livepatch kernel-upgrade-
required which hung for ~5 minutes, then a call to /snap/bin/canonical-
livepatch status which hung for another ~5 minutes.

An strace of the second process showed that canonical-livepatch was
looping trying to connect to /run/snapd.socket:

[pid 769177] connect(3, {sa_family=AF_UNIX,
sun_path="/run/snapd.socket"}, 20) = -1 ECONNREFUSED (Connection
refused)

This was not attached to anything, because the snapd package was among
those in the current apt transaction, and was currently not in a
configured state:

root 756701 0.0 0.0 24144 12556 pts/20 Ss+ 17:26 0:00 |

snapd:amd64

iU snapd 2.55.3+22.04 amd64Daemon and tooling that

This should probably be fixed by not stopping snapd in the prerm
(dh_systemd_start --restart-after-upgrade).

[Bug 1969156] Re: Ubuntu Jammy 22.04 Testing. 'ZFS' is not installed

2022-04-14 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a
specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu
in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source
packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs
about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your
bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage.
You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on
Libera.chat.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1969156/+editstatus and add the
package name in the text box next to the word Package.

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you

[Bug 1960457] Re: Please remove lupin from the archive

2022-04-14 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package casper - 1.469

---
casper (1.469) jammy; urgency=medium

  * Integrate lupin-casper's 20iso_scan casper-premount script so that users
can continue to use images that provide multiple iso's to choose to boot
from. This was no longer possible after the removal of the lupin packages
from jammy (LP: #1960457).

  [Where problems could occur]
+ I don't know how complex the python3 scripts run by rlm_python3 can be. Maybe
if there are complex imports or other interactions, it could show this fix to
be incomplete, as there were other upstream fixes for rlm_python3 that landed
in 3.0.21 and later. I checked the 3.0.21 ones
(https://github.com/FreeRADIUS/freeradius-server/issues/3193#issuecomment-564142712),
and believe I have the correct set of minimal fixes. In any case, this upload
is an improvement already, because before one could not even load rlm_python3.
And if you tried to use it really, it would segfault.

-  * Think about what the upload changes in the software. Imagine the change is
-    wrong or breaks something else: how would this show up?
+ That being said, freeradius is a gatekeeper. Authentication and
+ authorization is a big deal, and if this update introduces a bug, it
+ could manifest itself either by allowing something it shouldn't, or not
+ allowing anything.

-  * It is assumed that any SRU candidate patch is well-tested before
-    upload and has a low overall risk of regression, but it's important
-    to make the effort to think about what ''could'' happen in the
-    event of a regression.
+ These modules deep inside src/modules have their own autoconf scripts,
+ and they don't get regenerated by the build process from the respective
+ source files (configure.ac and others). At this time I didn't have to
+ patch them, but, as can be seen in the jammy upload, I had to patch
+ configure directly (and not configure.ac) because of fear of introducing
+ a regression, since those deep configure scripts are NOT regenerated by
+ the debian packaging builds: just the top level one is regenerated, at
+ the root of the source tree, and who knows when was the last time all
+ those configure scripts were generated. And jammy has an updated
+ autoconf (2.71), which broke other packages. In any case, this concern
+ does not apply to this particular focal update, but might in the future.

  [Where problems could occur]

   * Think about what the upload changes in the software. Imagine the change is
wrong or breaks something else: how would this show up?

   * It is assumed that any SRU candidate patch is well-tested before
upload and has a low overall risk of regression, but it's important
to make the effort to think about what ''could'' happen in the
     event of a regression.

   * This must '''never''' be "None" or "Low", or entirely an argument as to why
     your upload is low risk.

   * This both shows the SRU team that the risks have been considered,
and provides guidance to testers in regression-testing the SRU.

  [Other Info]
This SRU has two patches. One is the actual fix, which fixes the name of the
python library that freeradius attempts to load. The other fix is to not try to
instantiate the python3 module if the instantiate and detach methods are not
defined, which would trigger a failure with the simple reproducer from comment
#1.

+ I added a DEP8 test to the focal package that doesn't exist in any other
+ release at this time. As soon as Ubuntu K opens up, I'll update the
+ freeradius package there as well with this test.

[Bug 1969139] Re: Gimp segmentation fault while using Clone tool

2022-04-14 Thread Vincent LaConte
** Summary changed:

- Gimp segmentation fault while: Clone tool
+ Gimp segmentation fault while using Clone tool

** Description changed:

GIMP has been stable on this machine for a few years so somewhat
surprised by suddent segv during a Clone tool 'Copy' (Ctrl-MouseLeft)
command. On the first attempted execution (click) the program crashed.

The image read into memory was a PNG, with 32 bit float precision, HD
size, 10MB. Otherwise only a couple of other unedited image files open
in GIMP, no other heavy (user) operations in memory. Systemwide IO is a
little messed up today by a failed internal HDD still needing removal.
Generally stability has been poor of late, as it tends to around dist-
  release time.

Running kernel is newest stable System76-ubuntu release.

Other notes: Ugly new systemd.boot configuration, has some kinks in the
installation process (the FAT drive on /boot still sending non-critical
failure signals which nonetheless can monkey-wrench an entire dpkg
session. The last kernel upgrade, 5.16.15(?) would not boot so we had to
be downgraded which, you know. Leads to stuff.

+ *--Update-- GIMP crashed under similar circumstances three more times in
+ the same day work session, twice during save-to-disk and once during
+ recalc from 32 to 8 bit precision.

2022-04-14 Thread Luke Nowakowski-Krijger
Verification of the fix was confirmed by Chris Chiu when testing the
patch changes. For now we will flip verification done for bionic and
focal 5.4 kernels.

We are also still waiting for confirmation from Dries Oeyen and Tilman
Schmidt to confirm that they are also seeing their issues fixed.

[Bug 1968919] Re: Spurious needrestart runs on do-release-upgrade

2022-04-14 Thread Nick Rosbrook
A couple notes I think are worth adding:

1. One way to work around this is to set DEBIAN_FRONTEND=noninteractive
when running do-release-upgrade.

2. do-release-upgrade has the option to run completely non-
interactively. This means no y/N prompts etc. This is done by adding `-f
DistUpgradeViewNonInteractive` to the do-release-upgrade command line.

Anyways, I think we can set NEEDRESTART_MODE=a ('a' for automatic) by
default, and maybe set DEBIAN_FRONTEND=noninteractive by default for
DistUpgradeViewText. Currently, DistUpgradeViewText sets
DEBIAN_FRONTEND=dialog by default, but reading the git history I'm not
sure this is what was intended.

It also affects Google Chrome (100.0.4896.75):
- Ctrl + S to open save dialog
- Start typing

Instead of changing the name of the file, it will try to input the
letter to the main window, which doesn´t make sense.

[Bug 1968607] Re: screen became locked during release upgrade

2022-04-14 Thread Brian Murray
Hello Brian, or anyone else affected,

Accepted ubuntu-release-upgrader into impish-proposed. The package will
build now and be available at
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-release-upgrader/1:21.10.9
in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, what testing has been
performed on the package and change the tag from verification-needed-
impish to verification-done-impish. If it does not fix the bug for you,
please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-
failed-impish. In either case, without details of your testing we will
not be able to proceed.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance for helping!

N.B. The updated package will be released to -updates after the bug(s)
fixed by this package have been verified and the package has been in
-proposed for a minimum of 7 days.

[Bug 1968387] Re: ubuntu-fan fails to set https_proxy when running the "docker" dep8 test on autopkgtest.u.c

2022-04-14 Thread Sergio Durigan Junior
Thanks, Łukasz. FWIW it was a bit confusing to choose a proper version
number and there was some discussion about it in the MPs.

Either way, the verification for both uploads, as explained in the SRU
template, is to make sure that the autopkgtests are passing. I have now
verified that everything passes on Focal and Impish, so I consider these
verified.

[Bug 1968809] Re: Verify that the gdm cherry-picks are wanted for jammy

2022-04-14 Thread Jeremy Bicha
** Description changed:

- I need to check to make sure that we do in fact want the gdm3 cherry-
- picks for Jammy so filing this bug to hold things for a moment.
+ Earlier this week, I cherry-picked commits from GDM. One of those
+ commits isn't needed because we distro-patched some fixes for Nvidia
+ hybrid graphics in Ubuntu 22.04.

- I cherrypicked all the March 23 commits with
- https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm3/42.0-1ubuntu3
- https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gdm/-/commits/main
-
- The upstream merge proposal with some explanation in the comments was
- https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gdm/-/merge_requests/171
-
- We plan to do a partial revert on April 14 in time for Ubuntu 22.04
- Final Freeze.
+ The GDM commit disabled Wayland in that situation but since Wayland
+ works, we don't want to disable it.
