[Bug 1967843] Re: cheese display corrupted under Ubuntu 22.04
I built the patch Jan provided into a test package, available in the below ppa: https://launchpad.net/~mruffell/+archive/ubuntu/lp1967843-test When I install it, the testcase is fixed, shown in the attachment, and cheese works as normal. Jeremy, shall we submit the patch to Debian, and SRU to Ubuntu? It seems the upstream clutter-gst project is now archived and not accepting new patches. ** Attachment added: "Working testcase with test package" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cheese/+bug/1967843/+attachment/5584223/+files/Screenshot%20from%202022-04-27%2012-29-41.png ** Also affects: clutter-gst-3.0 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1967843 Title: cheese display corrupted under Ubuntu 22.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/cheese/+bug/1967843/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Jan also added a testcase to the upstream bug, that calls clutter-gst directly and does not require cheese: $ gst-launch-1.0 videotestsrc ! jpegenc ! jpegdec ! clutterautovideosink Attached is a picture running the testcase with clutter-gst-3.0 3.0.27-2build2, showing distorted picture. ** Attachment added: "Testcase with distorted screen" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cheese/+bug/1967843/+attachment/5584222/+files/Screenshot%20from%202022-04-27%2012-24-18.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1967843 Title: cheese display corrupted under Ubuntu 22.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/cheese/+bug/1967843/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thanks. It looks like a problem with errors.ubuntu.com itself, which is not uncommon. The crash report exists but it failed to get a stack trace and so errors.ubuntu.com can't categorise/group the crash reports. [Bug 1970072] Re: Frequent GPU Resets (and GUI Freeze) by gsd-media-keys
Thanks for the attachments. It looks like the Nvidia kernel driver encountered problems, which then caused problems in the Nvidia Xorg driver, and then Xorg crashed. I would suggest the first thing to do is to remove the kernel parameter 'nvidia-drm.modeset=1' because that wasn't a mature supported option back in Ubuntu 20.04 (but it is in 22.04). ** Also affects: nvidia-graphics-drivers-470 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags added: nvidia ** No longer affects: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) ** Summary changed: - Frequent GPU Resets (and GUI Freeze) by gsd-media-keys + [nvidia] Frequent GPU Resets (and GUI Freeze) by gsd-media-keys ** Tags added: nvidia-drm.modeset -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1970072 Title: [nvidia] Frequent GPU Resets (and GUI Freeze) by gsd-media-keys To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-470/+bug/1970072/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1970292] Re: ubuntu failed upgrade from 21.10 to 22.04
Thank you. I do not know which exact mirror my system used because "Software & Updates" merely identified it as in Canada. When I google "how do i tell which mirror is used" all I get back is how to get the fastest mirror. If I have a problem with a mirror how do I know WHICH mirror I had a problem with? Why is there no message as part of the output of do-release-upgrade which identifies the mirror, especially when reporting that there is a problem communicating with the mirror? The error message: Connection timed out [IP: 91.189.91.38 80] nslookup 91.189.91.38 38.91.189.91.in-addr.arpa name = banjo.canonical.com. I am puzzled because that is not a Canadian address, yet I specifically requested a Canadian mirror. If I can identify the mirror how do I determine to whom I should communicate the fact that I had a problem? As soon as I selected the "Main mirror" "Software & Updates" detected that the system was out of date and refreshed, and apt required that I update and upgrade my software. It is entirely reasonable that some mirrors are not up to the very latest levels right now as demand will be low until the automatic upgrade is enable. My main interest in installing 22.04 on this one of my three computers is that it is a recent laptop from System 76 and therefore has some unique hardware and microcode requirements including very recent drivers which required that I upgrade to 21.10. My other computers were all still on 20.04 and can therefore wait until the dot release comes out. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1970292 Title: ubuntu failed upgrade from 21.10 to 22.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-release-upgrader/+bug/1970292/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

You might be commenting on the wrong bug now. We're still getting zero crash reports in gbm_surface_release_buffer, at least none since gnome- shell version 42.0-1ubuntu1. Can you provide a stack trace of the most recent crash and confirm that it happened after the update to 42.0-2ubuntu1 ? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1969422 Title: gnome-shell crashed with SIGSEGV in gbm_surface_release_buffer() from meta_drm_buffer_gbm_finalize() from g_object_unref() from g_object_unref() from g_set_object() To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mutter/+bug/1969422/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1963834] Re: openssl 3.0 - SSL: UNSAFE_LEGACY_RENEGOTIATION_DISABLED]
It's a bit of an 'own goal' if this gets marked as 'won't fix'. As students upgrade to 22.04 where I work they will find they can't connect to the institutions or research centre wireless network. They won't care that the SSL change is protecting them from an old SSL bug, they will just come back 'it works in windows but not Ubuntu'. Central IT services who run the wireless will just shrug and say 'Linux not supported'. Need to make it easier to find how to turn on the Legacy insecure mode. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1963834 Title: openssl 3.0 - SSL: UNSAFE_LEGACY_RENEGOTIATION_DISABLED] To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openssl/+bug/1963834/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
