I am experiencing this as well on a fresh install of 24.04 to a blank
NVMe using the ZFS with encryption option. I see similar error messages
under the password dialog when unlocking the disk. As far as I can tell
things seem to work fine.

[Bug 2067127] [NEW] gnome-text-editor seems not to work with ORCA screenreader

2024-05-24 Thread Fernando Lanfranchi
Public bug reported:

after opening the app the only feedback I get is when pressing F10 when
ORCA read the menu's contents and is possible to navigate there but the
content of the text itself is not read and can't be reviewed in any way.
I read on Orca's docs that some gnome aplications should require caret
navigation to be enabled using F7 but didn't work anyway.

[Bug 2067126] [NEW] GIMP crashing on close if there's an unsaved image

2024-05-24 Thread Rob T Firefly
Public bug reported:

Kubuntu 24.04, GIMP 2.10.36-3build3

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open any image in GIMP and make any change to the image
2. Click the X button on the window titlebar to close the program
3. On the "There is one image with unsaved changes:" popup click "Discard
changes"

Expected behavior: The program exits normally.

Actual behavior: GIMP crashes, and gives the "GIMP Crash Debug" popup
with debug data. On next start the "Image Recovery" popup happens
offering to recover the last-used image.

This only happens when using the titlebar X button to close GIMP.
Exiting the program with File -> Quit and clicking "Discard Changes"
does not trigger the crash.

Debug data pasted below.

The issue is still presenting the same as originally reported, bluetooth
does not work on boot and requires the reset script I provided before it
will start working. The only difference between then and now is that one
log is missing.

Here are the extra logs you've asked for, the dmesg log was quite long
so I attached it as a file:

# dmesg
(see attached file)

(before running the reset script)
$ bluetoothctl

(after running the reset script)
$ bluetoothctl

I believe your issue is different than this one, this issue has been
reported starting in 5.16 on the original bug linked that they closed
and asked for someone to make a new issue if it was still present.

[Bug 2051720]

2024-05-24 Thread dustin
It looks like that new error is from when I attempted to use my BT
headphones for a meeting the other day after doing a cold boot. It's
unrelated. Sorry about that. You can see at the end of the logs I posted
where bluetooth stopped working after waking from suspend and the error
is the exact error from this bug's description.

That error is new. I've actually never seen it before now. The error I
was getting ever since I updated to 6.5+ was exactly the same as the
error in this bug's description. I see it's still in the logs I posted
today in addition to that new error.

That is actually a good thing. It’d be great if you bisected the commit
introducing the regression [1].

[Bug 2051720]

2024-05-24 Thread pmenzel+bugzilla.kernel.org
@nickolas, from your bug description it’s unclear, if this is a
regression, or if Bluetooth never worked for you. Could you please
clarify?

Please attach the output of `dmesg`.

Also, please run `bluetoothctl` and share all the output.

[Bug 2056706] Re: System unstable, kernel ring buffer flooded with "BUG: Bad page state in process swapper/0"

2024-05-24 Thread halfgaar
The fix worked for our Xen virtual machines, and I assume the fix needs
to be done on all those platforms, because
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=218654 fixes an actual bug
in a Xen driver. There's even talk in the bug about making a CVE.

But, I have no way to explicitly confirm those other kernels, but I'm
inclined to change the tags to 'verification-done' to avoid a automated
rollback.

[Bug 2067125] [NEW] CVE-2024-21096 et al affects MariaDB in Ubuntu

2024-05-24 Thread Otto Kekäläinen
*** This bug is a security vulnerability ***

Public security bug reported:

According to https://mariadb.com/kb/en/security/ the latest minor
MariaDB releases include security fixes.

I am working on updates for all maintained Ubuntu versions for MariaDB:
- mariadb-10.6 in Jammy
- mariadb (10.11) in Mantic
- mariadb (10.11) in Noble

MariaDB 10.11 in Oracular will automatically import the new version from
Debian Sid once Ubuntu maintainers drop the delta and sync.

Jammy has MariaDB 10.3 which is out of support by upstream and has no
new version (at least no public one).

Security sponsor note this:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SecurityTeam/PublicationNotes#Sponsoring_MariaDB_Security_Updates

** Affects: mariadb-10.3 (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
