[Bug 1970142] [NEW] capabilities module of ansible 2.5.1 is broken on targets with libpcap >= 2.41
Public bug reported: Ansible 2.5.1+dfsg-1 as shipped in bionic has a capabilities module which is broken on targets with libpcap >= 2.41 Upstream bugs: https://github.com/ansible-collections/community.general/issues/993 https://github.com/ansible/ansible/issues/72662 https://github.com/ansible-collections/community.general/commit/07d123a71a5ad769aac4d04e7e189fbf5f957cd8 The easiest fix would simply to replace the bundled capabilities.py with the latest from upstream: https://github.com/ansible-collections/community.general/blob/main/plugins/modules/system/capabilities.py (the only other two commits it received are not substantial, they remove ANSIBLE_METADATA and add a FQDN to the EXAMPLES entry) ** Affects: ansible (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1970142 Title: capabilities module of ansible 2.5.1 is broken on targets with libpcap >= 2.41 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ansible/+bug/1970142/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1922459] Re: restricted-ssh-commands regex check is not properly escaped
Hello Seth, you're completely right plus the example was flawed as it also matches a empty string. [Bug 1876286] Re: Evolution reports "Error performing TLS handshake: Internal error in memory allocation."
It is indeed a GnuTLS bug. It can be reproduced using only gnutls-cli: gnutls-cli pop.verizon.net -p 995 gnutls-cli imap.aol.com -p 993 I can reproduce it with gnutls28 (jessie), but not gnutls26 (wheezy). Those covered the jump from 2.2.6 to 3.0.0, where they changed from libgcrypt to nettle, so not that strange they have different behavior. The problem was not added by a recent Ubuntu update. It's a bug which was present in the past, and that only now is being exposed by whatever Yahoo changed. Gmail servers doesn't expose it. Thunderbird is not affected since it uses NSS, not GnuTLS. As a workaround, affected users could run on a separate terminal a command such as socat tcp-listen:9950,fork openssl-connect:pop.verizon.net:995,capath=/etc/ssl/certs and then configure evolution to connect to localhost:9950 (without TLS) instead of pop.verizon.net:995. This way, the actual encryption is performed by socat... using openssl. ** Also affects: gnutls28 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1876286 Title: Evolution reports "Error performing TLS handshake: Internal error in memory allocation." [Bug 899491] Re: Gnome Shell Randomly Restarts
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 889706 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/889706 This only started affecting me a couple of weeks ago. I have a similar software setup at work and at home but it only affects my work computer. Initially, it only happened when scrolling quickly in LibreOffice (or copying large amounts of data). Then I noticed the crashes also happening when running synaptic, and inserting an equation in gnumeric (it seems to be from the displaying of text completion window). The fact that in LibreOffice it only happens when I scroll fast, not if I do the same thing slowly makes me thing it may be related to the video drivers, but that's just a guess. [Bug 881861] Re: Frequently crashes on Oneiric (often occurs running Libreoffice and Debconf)
I have had this problem pop up for a week now. It started suddently, I'm not sure what changed on my system. It also seems to be associated with specific profiles. I tried creating a new user account, and I can scroll back and forth with LibreOffice without a hitch. I have tried getting rid of all my configuration files in .config, .local, and .libreoffice, but the affected account still causes the same problem. [Bug 632033] [NEW] Ubuntu 10.04 crashes (and volume goes extremely up) after updating
Public bug reported: My ubuntu crashes if I update all the packages in the repositories. I must stay with the downloaded version from ubuntu.com with no update. If I do update it, in several hours (undetermined and not always the same ones) it will crash and put the volume extremely up with a VERY unpleasant and continouous whistle. I have checked it reinstalling it 3 times. No update no crash. Updating crashes it. [Bug 30991] Re: crack-attack sounds not included
Hi all, Sorry for all these (7) years of silence since I released that patch for adding sound and music to Crack Attack! I recently took the time to put together what I recalled and check how things are right now, see details in this (a bit long) post: http://miguev.net/blog/en/2010/09/02/audio-support-for-crack-attack/ In short: - I took sound effects from GL-117 and LBreakout2, both of which are released under GNU GPL. - I used to take any music at hand, didn't find any redistributable music that would suit. - I hope you can either (a) bundle sound effects in one package or (b) create a metapackage that depends on gl-117-data and lbreakout2-data and post-install adds symlinks to /usr/share/crack-attack/sounds/ - I wouldn't spend much time about the music, just add sound effects and leave people choose their music. I've notified https://savannah.nongnu.org/task/?3487 as well, not sure how to notify http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=221692 though, so feel free to copy, paste and spread my words. -- crack-attack sounds not included https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/30991 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 95376] Keyboard mouse become unusable after trying ndiswrapper for AirPort on a MacBook Core 2 Duo
Public bug reported: From my experience, this issue seems to me located somewhere in the MacBook C2D firmware, or perhaps in rEFIt, because the only fix I have found is to apply the Mac OS X 10.4.2 update [http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301722], which updates the firmwares and disables rEFIt. To reproduce this issue: 1. Install Ubuntu or Kubuntu (6.04 or 6.10) in a MacBook using LILO for booting (not tested in Grub because root partition is /dev/sda5) 2. Optionally, because makes no difference, upgrade your kernel (tested with last kernel in Ubuntu 6.10 and kernel 2.6.20.3 from kernel.org, making sure you enable ATA and ATA_PIIX for kernel 2.6.20.3) 3. Install ndiswrapper from source (v1.39) or from Ubuntu 6.10 repository --ndiswrapper version also makes no difference. 4. Install the Windows driver from ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/pc/pccbbs/mobiles/7iwc21ww.exe by uncompressing it and doing ndiswrapper -i WINXP_2K/NET5416.INF and modprobe ndiswrapper. 5. Reboot to see the efect, although the kernel 2.6.20.3 will not boot. 5.a. If using kernel 2.6.20.3, reboot with previous kernel, uninstall kernel-image-2.6.20.3, uninstall ndiswrapper (make uninstall from its sources) and make sure to delete ndiswrapper.ko (/lib/modules/version/misc). Reboot, it should boot now. Now we are there. Try to use the integrated keyboard in LILO and you will not be able to do anything. Try with an external USB keyboard and you will be able to use it if *and only if* you plug it in the second USB port (the one nearest to the Shift key). When you boot the system and GDM or KDM starts, try to use the touchpad or any external USB mouse. Except with an external mouse in the second USB port, the cursor will move weirdly, as it were only receiving a small percentage of the signals. Same issue with keyboard, half of the keys you press will be lost, the other half may be randomly repeated. The effect makes it unusable, this is the same sentence using the integrated keyboard: Thecmasii uunnssbb,,hhsstthh aaee ssee uussiing ttetkebrd. T efmae tusabl, tthhii eemmssee hhtteedd keeyybb. This happened to me one, just after trying to make the C2D Airport work with ndiswrapper, and then I was depressed until I updated Mac OS X. The updated make me reinstall rEFIt and Ubuntu, everything worked very fine until I tried again to make the C2D Airport work with ndiswrapper. Of course, every external keyboard and mouse, plus the integrated ones, work perfectly in Mac OS X. This is why I think the problem is somewhere between the MacBook firmware but it is the ndiswrapper (plus the Airport windows driver) what makes make issue arise. Any troubleshooting advise will be appreciated and probaby performed, because apparently the only way to reflash the MacBook firmware is erasing the whole hard drive and reinstalling Mac OS X from its DVD, which is not an option. [Bug 95376] Re: Keyboard mouse become unusable after trying ndiswrapper for AirPort on a MacBook Core 2 Duo
This is dmesg output with kernel 2.6.20.3-mactel (with patches from http://svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/mactel-linux/trunk/kernel/mactel- patches-2.6.20/) after the issue arises. I'm sorry I don't have the dmesg output from the same kernel when it worked perfectly, but it really did. ** Attachment added: dmesg output with kernel 2.6.20.3-mactel http://librarian.launchpad.net/6917763/dmesg-2.6.20.3 -- Keyboard mouse become unusable after trying ndiswrapper for AirPort on a MacBook Core 2 Duo https://launchpad.net/bugs/95376 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 95376] Re: Keyboard mouse become unusable after trying ndiswrapper for AirPort on a MacBook Core 2 Duo
** Description changed: From my experience, this issue seems to me located somewhere in the MacBook C2D firmware, or perhaps in rEFIt, because the only fix I have found is to apply the Mac OS X 10.4.2 update [http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301722], which updates the firmwares and disables rEFIt. Sorry for the mistake, dmesg above is from kernel 2.6.15-28-686 included in Kubuntu 6.06, the dmesg from customer kernel 2.6.20.3-mactel is this one. ** Attachment added: dmesg output with kernel 2.6.20.3-mactel (the real one) http://librarian.launchpad.net/6918594/dmesg-2.6.20.3 -- Keyboard mouse become unusable after trying ndiswrapper for AirPort on a MacBook Core 2 Duo https://launchpad.net/bugs/95376 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
