Re: [Bug 1048874] Re: Xorg crashed with SIGABRT in __libc_message() loading modesetting module - corrupted double-linked list
Sorry I no longer use ubuntu/Linux - Reply message - From: Christopher M. Penalver christopher.m.penal...@gmail.com To: brucey...@live.com Subject: [Bug 1048874] Re: Xorg crashed with SIGABRT in __libc_message() loading modesetting module - corrupted double-linked list Date: Tue, Jan 7, 2014 03:14 Adam Bruce, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com /daily-live/current/ . If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications-Accessories-Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p xorg-server REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER Please note, given that the information from the prior release is already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one would not be helpful. [Bug 982889] Re: X trying to start before plymouth has finished using the drm driver
I ran apt-cache policy xserver-xorg-core yesterday and realised the patched hadn't been applied when I originally posted my Xorg logs. I saw a update today from your PPA and now I see xserver-xorg-core: Installed: 2:1.13.2-0ubuntu3~lp982889~1 So it has now been applied. I guess this was due to the building problem for amd? It now shows as built successfully. I know you said my error may be slightly different to the OP, but I thought I would post as it may be useful and this time I can see the drm device not ready (#), sleeping for 20us messages you mentioned. Mine seems similar to Franck's. I'm also seeing 'setversion 1.4 failed'. It did not boot successfuly though and went to Low Graphics mode. There is a crash report if you want me to upload that as a report. But I don't know if it will just be the same as: bug 1130667 - let me know if you want me to post it ** Attachment added: Xorg.0.log https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libdrm/+bug/982889/+attachment/3557629/+files/Xorg.0.log -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/982889 Title: X trying to start before plymouth has finished using the drm driver To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libdrm/+bug/982889/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1139803] [NEW] Software updater hangs/stops responding when clicking an update that has lots of version changes
Public bug reported: When viewing available updates, if I click on an update that has lots of version changes, then update manager will hang for a while/not respond. It will then come available again. I have noticed this a few times with raring This only happens when clicking updates with lots of version changes, it does not do it with others. I assume it's taking a while to handle/load the changes. This tends to happen with linux kernel updates as they contain a lot fo changes. Also Python3 today. [Bug 1138152] [NEW] Applications launched maximised have gap down the right hand side
Public bug reported: To reproduce - Launch nautilus, unmaximise it and then maximise it again - Launch Firefox from the dock (it must launch maximised, so if it's not, maximise it then close and launch again) - Click on the very far right of the Firefox window, there is a small gap so clicking will bring the Nautilus window to the front I noticed this whilst trying to scroll in Firefox and then other windows kept coming to the front, I didn't know why. If you set a blue wallpaper for example you will see the gap on the right clearly. If you maximise windows manually this does not happen. It only happens when launching maximised windows. I believe this applies to all applications ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 13.04 Package: unity 6.12.0daily13.03.01-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.8.0-8.17-generic 3.8.0 Uname: Linux 3.8.0-8-generic x86_64 .tmp.unity.support.test.0: ApportVersion: 2.9-0ubuntu2 Architecture: amd64 CompizPlugins: No value set for `/apps/compiz-1/general/screen0/options/active_plugins' CompositorRunning: compiz CompositorUnredirectDriverBlacklist: '(nouveau|Intel).*Mesa 8.0' CompositorUnredirectFSW: true Date: Fri Mar 1 16:47:08 2013 DistUpgraded: Fresh install DistroCodename: raring DistroVariant: ubuntu GraphicsCard: Intel Corporation 2nd Generation Core Processor Family Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:0126] (rev 09) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: Dell Device [1028:0446] NVIDIA Corporation GF108 [GeForce GT 540M] [10de:0df5] (rev a1) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: Dell Device [1028:0446] InstallationDate: Installed on 2013-02-11 (18 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail - Alpha amd64 (20130210) MachineType: Dell Inc. [Bug 1125759] Re: Intel integrated graphics boots in low graphics mode
Does it boot up properly more often if you add 'plymouth.enable=0' to the kernel boot options? So I removed the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file and added plymouth.enable=0 to the boot options (after quiet splash - correct?) And no, it does not boot up properly, it still goes to low graphics mode -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1125759 Title: Intel integrated graphics boots in low graphics mode To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1125759/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1125069] [NEW] Sync menu 'Off' button goes off screen 'On' button resizes menu
Public bug reported: I can't get a screenshot of what I mean so I hope I can describe it Reproduce 'Off' button bug: - Click Sync menu drop down - Click the 'On' button, switching it 'Off' What happens: - The 'Off' button overlaps off the edge of the screen slightly Reproduce 'On' button bug: - Click Sync menu drop down - Click the 'Off' button, switching it 'On' What happens: - The right edge of the menu becomes too small and leaves a gap between the menu and the edge of the screen. When clicking the menu again, there is no gap.
