[Bug 1450085] Re: kio_sftp can't connect to hosts after OpenSSH 6 has cached their ECDSA key
I agree with Alvin. That old KDE bug (ECDSA and libssh) affected me for a long time but as soon as Kubuntu got libssh 0.6 (Saucy I think?) it was resolved. I'm running the same system that has simply been upgraded (not reset) and this behaviour has recently come back. I'm not sure if it was there on the shipped Plasma 5.2 as I did not test sftp until I installed the backports of 5.3. Has this affected other distributions with KDE 5 tech (OpenSuse?). If so maybe its time for an upstream bug report. Is there a way to get more verbose information of what Dolphin is doing from the command line? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kde-runtime in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1450085 Title: kio_sftp can't connect to hosts after OpenSSH 6 has cached their ECDSA key To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kde-runtime/+bug/1450085/+subscriptions -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1450085] Re: kio_sftp can't connect to hosts after OpenSSH 6 has cached their ECDSA key
I was able to build updated deb packages of libssh 0.6.5 but the problem still persists for me. I thought it would have fixed the issue as 0.6.4's changelog mentions a few ECDSA changes. Just to make sure I ssh-keygen -R HOST_WITH_ECDSA, accessed the host via SFTP in Dolphin which worked, ssh-keygen -R HOST_WITH_ECDSA again, access the host via ssh (which pulled in the ECDSA key), and then accessed via Dolphin's SFTP again which failed. Any host of mine that does not use ECDSA works fine so it does seem limited to ECDSA host keys. Note that Ed25519 keys will fail as well as that requires libssh 0.7.0. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1450085 Title: kio_sftp can't connect to hosts after OpenSSH 6 has cached their ECDSA key To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kde-runtime/+bug/1450085/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1411259] [NEW] kdeinit5 crashes on logout and log in screen never loads
Public bug reported: Whenever I logout of an active desktop session, as the screen goes black I get a crash dialogue informing me that kdeinit5 has segfaulted. Unfortunatley it will not let me report from this dialogue as it states: You cannot report this error, because kdeinit5 does not providea bug reporting address. I've installed the kinit-dbg and kded5-dbg packages but it still complains the crash information is not useful and tells me to install kinit-dbg (which I already did). When this happens the screen just stays mostly black with only the crash dialog pressent. Pressing close on the dialogue does nothing except make the diaglogue no longer accessable. The screen just stays as is and the log in screen never appears. The system has not hung and I can drop to a terminal and run sudo service sddm restart to workaround the issue and get the log in screen to show. I don't think that is going to be practical. I may be able to test the kernel from 14.04 if you have suggestions on how to do that or should I just grab the same version from the kernel PPA? I've been running Linux kernel 3.18-rc3 for 6 days and just run into the issue. [Bug 1388072] Re: [Lenovo ThinkPad X230 Tablet] USB devices in docking station no longer working after resuming from long standby
OK so things seems worse on 3.17.1. After resuming my laptop from about 10-11 hours sleep, not only were the inputs connected to the USB docks not working, but after initial display my screen did not seem to be updating (no flashing cursor on log in screen), and the keys and trackpad on the laptop itself did not work. I disconnected the dock and reconnected but still nothing. However, the screen on my external monitor went off as expected but came back after reconnecting. I had thought maybe a hard hang had happened but with the screen coming back that seemed unlikely. I hit CTRL+ALT+F1 to switch to a terminal and nothing happened. I then disconnected again and my laptop screen jumped over to the terminal as if it had registered the CTRL+ALT+F1 previously. Connecting again showed the terminal on my external screen but still the USB keyboard connected to the dock did not work but disconnecting again I found the laptop keys were working. I logged into the terminal and ran dmesg. I then connected to the dock again and my USB keyboard and mouse started working! :-/ After logging back into the desktop I found I had no wifi. I had seen this previously while testing a version of 3.17 in the past. After flicking my wifi hard switch off/on it still did not work and dmesg showed this odd bit (I know this is another issue but adding for prosperity): [44576.665593] iwlwifi :03:00.0: RF_KILL bit toggled to disable radio. So lots of fun with 3.17 :( As for testing 3.18rc1, I am hesitant as I really don't like testing an RC1 release on my production laptop. Just tried Linux Kernel 3.18.0-031800rc2_3.18.0-031800rc2.201410262035 from the PPA which simply fails to properly boot and falls to a busybox console because for some reason it fails to find the root drive. Common problems: - Boot args (cat /proc/cmdline) - Check rootdelay= (did the system waut long enough?) - Check root= (did the system wait for the right device?) - Missing modules (cat /proc/modules; ls /dev) ALERT! /dev/disk/by-uuid/MYROOT-DRIVE-UUID does not exist. Its a Lenovo Thinkpad x230t with an Ultrabase series 3. $ sudo dmidecode -s bios-version sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date GCET99WW (2.59 ) 05/28/2014 $ uname -r 3.16.0-23-generic Package is: 3.16.0.23.24 Just to confirm here is the relevent parts of my dmesg after I run into this issue: [143413.038373] usb 3-3.4: ep 0x81 - rounding interval to 64 microframes, ep desc says 80 microframes [143413.038379] usb 3-3.4: ep 0x82 - rounding interval to 64 microframes, ep desc says 80 microframes [143413.038387] xhci_hcd :00:14.0: Not enough bandwidth on HS bus for newly activated TT. [Bug 1388072] [NEW] [Lenovo ThinkPad X230 Tablet] USB devices in docking station no longer working after resuming from long standby
Public bug reported: Please see: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1116525 When my Lenovo Thinkpad x230t is attached to an Ultrabase Series 3 dock and suspended for many hours. Upon resume the USB ports on the dock, but not the laptop, stop working with peripherals (mouse, keyboard, usb drive). Shorter periods of standby seem unaffected. [Bug 1388072] Re: [Lenovo ThinkPad X230 Tablet] USB devices in docking station no longer working after resuming from long standby
** Description changed: Please see: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1116525 When my Lenovo Thinkpad x230t is attached to an Ultrabase Series 3 dock and suspended for many hours. Upon resume the USB ports on the dock, but not the laptop, stop working with peripherals (mouse, keyboard, usb - drive). Shorter periods of standby seem unaffected. + drive). Shorter periods of standby seem unaffected unless the issues has + already occurred. E.g. After a fresh boot if I suspend my laptop and + resume after less than about 8 hours (I am not at all certain if the + period of time is related. Just general observation), everything will + continue to work fine. If however the issue has occurred at some point + and I have disconnected and reconnected to work around the issue, and + then I suspend for a short period of time (20 seconds) and resume, the + dock's USB ports will no longer work unless I again disconnect the + laptop from the dock and reconnect. So it seems once the issue has + happened it will continue to happen until I reboot. [Bug 1061073]
Just to be clear. I was talking about the non-gles version of Kwin when testing. Don't know if a bug report should be created specifically for the MSAA bug which seems to be what caused the screen corruption as well as slowdown in kwin standard OpenGL. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1061073 Title: Desktop effects are slow and desktop corruption using mesa 9 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/kdebase-workspace/+bug/1061073/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 454218] Re: [Karmic] loss of window border when using compiz resize plugin, option=normal
I'm seeing this same issue on multiple Intel IGP chips in different laptops. GMA 950, x3100, and a GMA 4500M. I also have a system with a ATI R300 running Ubuntu Karmic with the 2.6.32 kernel from ppa using KMS and Xorg-updates which does not exhibit this issue so it seems specific to the Intel cards. Not sure if the Nvidia issue is the same as I believe loose-binding was intended to always be used with the Nvidia blob anyway. I first noticed this issue during Jaunty when I moved to the Linux kernel 2.6.31 (from kernel ppa) on my Sony Vaio CR11s (x3100). Prior to that I had not experience the issue. I'm writing this from a live usb using a daily Lucid release and the same issue is present but appears to affect the new theme even more. I can produce the affect with any window but it is much harder with some apps than others. For example the Update Manager rarely shows the issue unless you go crazy with resizing (grab a corner and throw it around the screen), where as firefox will show it constantly when resizing. It also seems more common with some themes than others. I would say the more complex the apps is (more widgets to cause redrawing) the more easier the bug is to produce. I can grab some more info from my Sony Vaio if needed (after I have poke through the wikis on how to do this). -- [Karmic] loss of window border when using compiz resize plugin, option=normal https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/454218 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
