[Bug 33696] Re: Packages not authenticated

2009-08-22 Thread AdrianBartel
Was experiencing similar behaviour in Synaptic on Jaunty.
Checked what would happen when using apt-get:

WARNING: The following packages cannot be authenticated!
---snip---
Authentication warning overridden.

So in my case it wasn't a Synaptic bug. Checked /etc/apt/apt.conf and
found APT::Get::AllowUnauthenticated 1;. Changed it to 0 and the
warning dissappeared for both apt-get and Synaptic.

So not so much that packages cannot be authenticated as packages will
not be authenticated. Perhaps the wording of the messages could be
improved?

[Bug 363868] Re: BIOS does not provide ACPI _PSS objects in a way that Linux understands, Foxconn A7GM-S 2.0

2009-08-19 Thread AdrianBartel
It may be worth checking whether there's an option to enable Cool 'n
Quiet in the BIOS. Such an option may have been disabled after a BIOS
upgrade.

This is discussed here for a different motherboard with similar symptoms:
