[Bug 842428] Re: Messaging indicator doesn't go blue if chat window is open

2011-10-25 Thread Again617
I agree that this bug fix has to be backported to Oneiric. Empathy is
pretty useless as a chat application if it doesn't even notify when
there are unread messages.

[Bug 870450] [NEW] unity components stay in the background

2011-10-07 Thread Again617
Public bug reported:

The application launcher and the window switcher (alt+tab thingie) will
once in a while move to the background and then stay there. I have
attached screenshots to demonstrate the problem. This happens daily and
the only way I know to fix it is to restart X.

[Bug 845660] [NEW] Network manager not responding to button presses

2011-09-09 Thread Again617
Public bug reported:

Description:Ubuntu 11.04
Release:11.04

  Installed: 0.8.4~git.20110319t175609.d14809b-0ubuntu3

When I click on my network icon, it appears to be working but none of
the buttons that I try to click on from the dropdown do anything.

Workaround: sudo service network-manager restart
Caveat: the workaround works for about a day.

appreciated.

[Bug 782810] [NEW] xorg and compiz hog the cpu

The computer has become a lot slower since upgrading to Natty. When
observing top, xorg and compiz often are at the top of the list taking
up 10% to 40% of the CPU each. This doesn't happen all the time but it
does happen often. I don't think that it's the fault of any program that
I run because it is sometimes like this right after a reboot.

I am using the Ubuntu Classic session as the Unity session is almost
unusable because it is so sluggish.

I haven't had this problem in a little while. If I do and figure out how
to recreate it, then I'll get the valgrind logs.

[Bug 731630] Re: gwibber crashed with KeyError in setup_ui(): 'stream'

2011-04-15 Thread Again617
It seems that sometimes when Gwibber crashes (for me it was
https://bugs.launchpad.net/gwibber/+bug/542748) it messes up a gconf
key. Particularly the one in apps/gwibber/preferences/streams. Mine was
set to [{}]. I changed that to [] and Gwibber launched but no streams
were visible. I hit the Gwibber menu button and then New Stream and
Gwibber works for me again. Now the value in gconf for me is:
[{account: null, transient: false, stream: messages}].

I hope this helps get the bug fixed.

[Bug 759397] Re: syndaemon hogging cpu

2011-04-13 Thread Again617
Another workaround this bug is to go to the mouse settings, disable the
option to disable touchpad while typing and then re-enable it. After
doing that syndaemon is behaving again.

[Bug 675402] Re: Jabber video quality is terrible

I built GStreamer from source using the instructions found here:
http://wiki.pitivi.org/wiki/GStreamer_using_jhbuild. When I launch
empathy using this build then the person who I am having a video
conversation with can see me very clearly.

[Bug 675402] Re: Jabber video quality is terrible

2011-01-13 Thread Again617
Sorry, I should have replied earlier.

Of the two systems that I used for the initial screenshot, I only
enabled the maverick-proposed repository under one. I am hesitant to
add this repository on my girlfriend's laptop.

However, the results are interesting. On the computer without maverick-
proposed enabled, the video chat is identical to the initial bad quality
results. On my computer (with maverick-proposed) enabled, the errors
are very different. When the chat first starts up, the video quality
looks good and then the video gets very pixelated at parts and then all
grey as if a keyframe is missing. I'll hopefully get some screenshots
tonight and upload them here.

[Bug 589204] Re: Evolution Setup Assistant dialog too large for netbook screens

2010-12-02 Thread Again617
This bug is extremely annoying to me. It should be an easy change as
the panels already have scroll bars. The panels just need to have a much
smaller minimal height.

A workaround for this bug is to ensure that the window is not maximized
(Alt+F10) and then hold in Alt, click and drag the window up to see the
content at the bottom.

The Calendar section of Evolution also explodes larger than my monitor.
For those of you have not experienced this, I'm going to try to explain
how annoying it is. My evolution window is sitting on Workspace 5 and
it is maximized. If I happen to click on the Calendar, the window grows
by about 80 pixels. Now if I happen to try and click on something the
whole window jumps higher about 80 pixels making me miss what I tried to
click on. I try to click again and the window will jump down the 80
pixels to where it started. It is impossible to even click on the
Minimize, Restore and Maximize buttons. I have been in this scenario so
often that I know to hit Alt+F10 and drag the window around before
attempting to click on any items. When the window is not maximized,
then this jumping around behaviour doesn't happen.

I would like to add that after click on the Calendar button, the entire
program stays too large for my screen even after clicking back to Mail
and the program needs to be shut down and restarted before it can be
used properly.

Again, this should be an easy fix and Evolution should not ship with
Ubuntu Netbook Remix if it does not fit on a netbook screen.

Thanks, I have been able to fix totem now by manually removing all totem
files and then reinstalling it. I don't remember installing a local
version but that would make sense why simply reinstalling totem didn't
solve my problem.

Pulseaudio crashed. At least I think that it was pulseaudio but it may
have been indicator-sound. Indicator-sound appears muted and when I
click on sound preferences it shows Waiting for sound system to
respond. I have a good feeling that if I don't hit the cancel button,
  this would show for eternity.

Output from dmesg is: indicator-sound[5879]: segfault at 8 ip 00fed599
  sp bf8fb7d0 error 4 in libpulse.so.0.12.2[fbb000+3f000]

Sound still works but I have no way of adjusting the volume or any sound
settings. pulseaudio does not appear to be running as when I type ps
-e | grep pulse no lines get displayed.

When I attempt to run pulseaudio from the commandline by running
pulseaudio it looks good and gives only this message: W: pid.c: Stale
  PID file, overwriting.

However, now when I run Sound Preferences it starts up and appears
normal at first but output is Dummy Audio Stereo and volume controls
  still don't work.

Known workaround: reboot. This has happened before and reboot as a fix
is not a good fix in my opinion.

- Let me know if there is any other information that I can give to help
- fix pulseaudio.

[Bug 682568] [NEW] Totem crashes on startup with undefined symbol

2010-11-28 Thread Again617

Totem crashes when I try to start it.

When running totem --debug this output is produced:

Let me know if there is any other information that I can give to help
fix pulseaudio.

[Bug 680596] [NEW] Gwibber not receiving new messages

2010-11-23 Thread Again617
Public bug reported:

I expect new Twitter messages to show up in Gwibber as they did a few
days ago. No new messages are appearing.

Here is some attempted debugging information. I quit everything
relating to gwibber such that the command ps -e | grep gwibber did not
return anything. Then, I cleared the gwibber log file so it would only
contain the present debugging information. Next, I ran gwibber-service
--debug. After waiting a short time, I then ran gwibber and hit
refresh not receiving any messages. I then uploaded the log file to
pastebin: http://pastebin.com/yZfCZfdb.

I hope this is helpful. Let me know if there is anything else that I
can do.

[Bug 664157] Re: Export to HTML gives error with linked notes

2010-11-19 Thread Again617
Geoffrey, you're right. I did some more tests and it appears as though
it was italics in the link name that was causing the problem. The
italics got removed when I renamed the note. I hope that helps and I
hope that this gets fixed soon.

[Bug 664157] Re: Export to HTML gives error with linked notes

2010-10-20 Thread Again617
With a few extra minutes of experimenting I've found a workaround. Take
all commas out of the note names. I'm guessing that the commas break
the creation of the hyper links and I'm also guessing that this applies
to more special characters.

[Bug 332543] Re: echo test not working

2010-04-19 Thread Again617
I have more accounts than that. I have had trouble in the past signing
in, and creating a new account would seem to work for a little while.
But that's a whole different issue. Echo test now works for me.

I feel silly that this entire time I have had such an easy to solve
problem. Can I suggest that we have an obvious error message when a
call fails? Possibly a popup window saying User username is not
registered. Please ensure username and password are correct. Should I
create a new bug to discuss this in?

2010-04-14 Thread Again617
I have this problem also in Ubuntu 10.04 beta2 with Empathy 2.30.0.1 and
it was driving me crazy. Disabling contact list makes irc usable in
Empathy.

[Bug 332543] Re: echo test not working

2010-02-01 Thread Again617
I completely removed ekiga and then compiled and installed these
packages: PTLIB 2.6.5, OPAL 3.6.6, Ekiga 3.2.6.Ekiga still hangs up
immediately after trying to make a test call.

[Bug 332543] Re: echo test not working

2009-11-28 Thread Again617
I'm having this same problem in Karmic Koala. Signing in seems to work.
When I try to call the echo service the call disconnects immiediately.

I don't think that this is an audio issue because even Skype works using
its default settings.

[Bug 419894] Re: notify-osd images appear at the middle right of screen

2009-10-21 Thread Again617
My notifications are still showing up at the wrong place. Should I
create a new bug report then? I am using a fully updated Karmic.

[Bug 431023] Re: gnome-power-manager crashed with SIGSEGV in g_cclosure_marshal_VOID__VOID()

2009-10-13 Thread Again617
Happened to me when unplugging my HP Mini 1010 while the lid was still
closed. Normally, I expect it to suspend when I do that.

[Bug 447090] Re: can not sign in

2009-10-13 Thread Again617
I think that this bug affects me too. When I click Connect I am taken
to the login site. After I put in my credentials I am taken to a
confirmation screen where I confirm that I am who I signed in as. When
I click sign in here nothing happens.

[Bug 285582] Re: Spelling mistake - Sleep Desactivated

2008-10-19 Thread Again617
The bug is there on launching rhythmbox before I start playing anything.

Odd thing is, I have the Power Manager plugin disabled. Enabling it and
restarting Rhythmbox didn't change the text.
