[Bug 1687246] Re: GNOME Shell should support fractional (non-integer) Hi-DPI scaling
I think 100,200 and 300% were the easiest to get done. The real issue is with fractional scaling, which KDE does better than others currently and then of course it depends how your GUI toolkit plays with fractional scaling. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1687246 Title: GNOME Shell should support fractional (non-integer) Hi-DPI scaling To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mutter/+bug/1687246/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1687246] Re: GNOME Shell should support fractional (non-integer) Hi-DPI scaling
I may add that I believe we probably need more scaling steps than 125, 150, 175 and 200. On my Thinkpad X1C with 14" display and 1080p resolutions 125% is still "too small" and 150% is too large. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1687246 Title: GNOME Shell should support fractional (non-integer) Hi-DPI scaling To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mutter/+bug/1687246/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1687246] Re: GNOME Shell should support fractional (non-integer) Hi-DPI scaling
What is left of this issue to be sorted, is there a way to track upstream progress on this ? From my testing many apps (non-gnome) get blurry when fractional scaling is enabled. [Bug 1630337] Re: Need DBus API to get current co-ordinates of the Pointer
There are a few points that I would like to point here that I and mzanetti discussed. Mike wanted for us to talk to the unity8 proxy object to get details of the pointer co-ordinates to screen orientation but there are a few reasons that I believe we should not be going by that path. 1. The tool i.e. Autopilot should only rely on APIs and not on internal details of the unity8 server. 2. We don't want to restart unity8 to enable testability for autopilot to work. Restarting unity8 would only make sense if we were testing unity8 itself. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1630337 Title: Need DBus API to get current co-ordinates of the Pointer To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity8/+bug/1630337/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1627108] Re: X1Carbon comes to a crawl during high CPU usage tasks
As notified on on IRC, that is a good kernel. The issue is easy to reproduce on an X1 Carbon just run `stress -c 4` and within a few seconds mouse starts to lag and everything becomes slow. ** Description changed: My X1Carbon becomes quite laggy, the cursor hangs for a few seconds and then resumes while my system is compiling some code, or lets says PyCharm is indexing things or Android Studio is compiling some code. I was using 4.4 on Xenial a few days ago and everything was working just fine. Installed Yakkety and this issue happens. + + TEST CASE: + `stress -c 4` <-- that results in system slowness. + I will downgrade the kernel and see if that mitigates the issue. [Bug 1627108] [NEW] X1Carbon comes to a crawl during high CPU usage tasks
Public bug reported: My X1Carbon becomes quite laggy, the cursor hangs for a few seconds and then resumes while my system is compiling some code, or lets says PyCharm is indexing things or Android Studio is compiling some code. I was using 4.4 on Xenial a few days ago and everything was working just fine. Installed Yakkety and this issue happens. I will downgrade the kernel and see if that mitigates the issue. [Bug 1553797] Re: Provide a way to Update AppArmor rules for click tests only once
So I tried my patch and made relevant changes to our test suite (lp :ubuntu-system-tests) and it does seem to be working fine. My previous comment came as I had inspecting that aa-clickhook was called after temporary debs were installed in /tmp/adt-run. directory. and this code[1], which added each directory path to the click-ap.rules file. Since the above patch is working, we can blame my understand of aa-clickhook here to be the issue. Do you have comments about the diff ? [Bug 1553797] Re: Provide a way to Update AppArmor rules for click tests only once
I have attached a script based on your proposal. I am not sure though if we can consider this the solution. [Bug 1553797] [NEW] [Enhancement] Provide a way to Update AppArmor rules for click tests only once
Public bug reported: We use autopkgtest in ubuntu-system-tests project to run those tests on the touch device. While developing the tests, it becomes a bit of a challenge to run the tests as it takes a few moment to update AppArmor rules for click. As part of profiling for ubuntu-system-tests, we found it takes more than a minute each time to update AppArmor rules. So we probably need some kind of parameter to adt-run to not delete the /var/cache/apparmor /click-ap.rules file after running tests. ** Affects: autopkgtest (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1553797 Title: [Enhancement] Provide a way to Update AppArmor rules for click tests only once To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/autopkgtest/+bug/1553797/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
