Mike Butash, for now the workaround is simple, install without loging in
to Ubuntu One, just select to do it later.

BTW this issue is also present in Trusty.

Indeed this seems to have been fixed upstream over 2 months ago, so why
pushing beta 2 into Raring when that version, beta 2, is already
obsolete when the push is made?

[Bug 1060511] Re: Left launcher does not reveal when in autohide mode on multi-monitor setups

2012-10-05 Thread Alain-OIivier Breysse
I experience this bug in Precise amd64 fully updated, only when using
nvidia-current, whether the 295.40 or the latest 304.51, and also on a
freshly installed Quantal amd64 with nvidia-current 304.51 running on a
completely different machine.

[Bug 1059754] [NEW] Picard extremely on multiple save

2012-10-01 Thread Alain-OIivier Breysse
Public bug reported:

This problem has been noted for a while now across multiple Ubuntu and Picard
versions up to the latest Quantal amd64 and current Picard 1.0-1 (same on
1.0+bzr1336-ppa6) and has been experienced on different machines.
During a multiple Save operation, Picard can slow down to a crawl, Picard
sometimes even freezing up completely for a short while (greyed out). The same
operations on the Windows version doesn't affect Picard at all, and the whole
applications remains very responsive.
So this is inherent to the Ubuntu version that seems to be badly implemented in
this respect.

Bonjour,

I have reproduce this problem on 2 different machines, with both an
Nvidia and AMD GPU. Picard is not the only software affected though.
Another bug # 1003568 is open and under investigation.

[Bug 1003445] Re: ubuntuone-installer crashes on fresh 12.10 install

2012-05-27 Thread Alain-OIivier Breysse
It's not actually ubuntuone-installer but ubuntuone-control-panel-qt that
crashes, however no crash report is generated. Running it from terminal gives:
(python:8397): Gtk-CRITICAL **: IA__gtk_widget_style_get: assertion
`GTK_IS_WIDGET (widget)' failed
Erreur de segmentation (core dumped)
On the same machine two other apps crash when invoked with a similar message
bug #1003568.
I can duplicate this on a different machine.

This affects me too. on 12.04 fully updated. I was just watching a video
using Totem, Hud would appear every few minutes for no obvious reason
and steal the focus, again and again.

[Bug 900127] Re: Login doesn't use correct keyboard settings [Dvorak]

2012-01-23 Thread Alain-OIivier Breysse
I can report two cases :

- On French-Canadian Precise amd64 fully updated, keyboard layout is
always wrong, but OK once logged in.

- On freshly installed (01-23-2012) Oneiric amd 64 fully updated, system
works nicely, but once I install 3.2.0-10-generic from xorg-edgers-ppa
then the kayboard layout is wrong under lightdm and once logged in.

[Bug 894456] [NEW] Old version of btrfs-tools in ubuntu

2011-11-24 Thread Alain-OIivier Breysse

synchronized with the latest available from Chris Masson on

[Bug 893681] [NEW] No space left on device during kernel update on btrfs

2011-11-22 Thread Alain-OIivier Breysse
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 11.10 amd64.

message:

E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1).

There's a lot of free space available on this btrfs compressed partition
so the problem is elsewere. I read a couple post about similar problems,
but nothing conclusive.
