[Bug 1577637] Re: Unity8 window shadows are too small

2016-05-03 Thread Alex Milazzo
App shadows are designed to work on all form factors. Unity 7 shadows
are way too strong for mobile use.

[Bug 1490444] Re: Launching an app from the dash lacks visual feedback

2016-04-08 Thread Alex Milazzo
** Description changed:

Launching an app from the dash lacks visual feedback about what you just
tapped on, kind of. If you look extremely closely you will see a slight
change in the icon's shadow when you tap it. But the change is hardly
perceptible. We need some kind of feedback that's more visible to
improve the perception of the dash responding.

[Bug 1358328] Re: [Scopes] Add optional avatar to scope reviews preview widget

2015-08-03 Thread Alex Milazzo
Please use image attached as reference

** Description changed:

I'd like to use the reviews widget for each facebook comment (in a
preview) in order to include each commenter's FB profile pic as an
  avatar.

Saviq suggested the reviews widget should therefor have an optional
  avatar.

  -- UX Comment --

As part of the scope toolkit spec update project and posting and sharing
capabilities for scopes, there will be design considerations for new
cards layouts and preview widgets. This work is in progress.

However, in order to display the user's avatar next to their comment on
preview screen (as described in the comments), we can currently use
Art_Header_horizontal (L) only using header part of that card to achive
  this result.

[Bug 1385423] Re: [indicators] flight mode use of x and check mark is counterintuitive

2015-08-03 Thread Alex Milazzo
** Description changed:

Every time I look at the flight mode status on my phone, it takes me an
extra second to understand the current state. Flight mode is on, and
shows a green check box, when the network is disabled; and flight mode
is off, showing a black and white X, when the network is enabled.
This mental negation costs cognitive effort to decipher, because it's
using the same symbols as the individual services (wifi, gps,
  bluetooth...) with an opposite meaning.

I'm not a designer, but my suggestion would be to use different symbols
for on/off than are used elsewhere in the UI. (The other possibility
  would be to change the name of the setting to give it an opposite sense;
I don't suggest doing this because Flight mode is a well-known name
  for the functionality.)
+
+ --
+
+ Desired resolution: We have a new SDK toggle component which will
+ address this issue. However the style is different from the Indicator UI
+ so this will be actioned once we start on the overall design project
+ since it can't be fixed as a single bug. There is no Epic Project Card
+ as far as I am aware.

[Bug 1471695] Re: [indicators] Too dark, invisible icons

2015-08-03 Thread Alex Milazzo
Desired resolution added in the description

** Description changed:

What I already wrote on the ubuntu-phone mailing list and what many people
found also as a problem is the visibility of the icons in the panel. I attached
a photo from my bq. One of the photos was taken in a quite dark room so we are
able to see the icons more or less clearly but then outside I'm only able to
clearly see the active icon even with the brightness set on 100%. How could
anyone create grey icons on a grey background?! My proposition is all icons
white, and the active one alien-green like #12ed0d or light orange. Yellow will
also be not the very best idea. In my opinion the best solution is light-green
and white and then the background can stay as it is now.
The other member of Polish Translators Team has a MX4 with the same problem
so it is not only bq.
