Re: [Bug 586513] Re: package nfs-common 1:1.2.0-4ubuntu4 failed to install/upgrade:

2010-06-01 Thread Alex Mitaru
Thank you Steve...Is this what you need ???

ale...@ubal:~$ status gssd
gssd stop/waiting
ale...@ubal:~$ status idmapd
idmapd start/running, process 1152
ale...@ubal:~$

Thanks again, Alex

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and help to improve
 Ubuntu.

The error in the logs is:

 Setting up nfs-common (1:1.2.0-4ubuntu4) ...
Installing new version of config file /etc/init/statd.conf ...
Installing new version of config file /etc/init/gssd.conf ...
Installing new version of config file /etc/init/idmapd.conf ...
 statd start/running, process 15128
 gssd stop/pre-start, process 15151
 ^Cdpkg: error processing nfs-common (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script killed by signal (Interrupt)

So this has hung somewhere after starting statd, either while starting
 gssd or while starting idmapd.

Please show the output of 'status gssd' and 'status idmapd' on this
 system.

 ** Changed in: nfs-utils (Ubuntu)

2010-06-01 Thread Alex Mitaru
Yes, I have rebooted...dang...very sorry...is there anything I could
do to help ??

Is there any mechanism to try to install/upgrade only nfs-util
(nfs-common) package ?
The system seems to work fine...

Thanks, Alex

Well, it's been four days since the bug was filed.  Have you rebooted
the system since then?  If so, we've lost whatever debugging information
was available.  Or if not, then the 'status' command still isn't showing
anything that tells us why the upgrade failed, anyway.
