[Bug 220961] Re: [MASTER] ubiquity crashes instead of notifying the user of not enough disk space

2015-06-03 Thread Alexander Lopez
How dare Ubuntu lie off its ass and claim to be the leading OS for PC,
tablet, phone and cloud when (as stated by acfrazier) this same bug on
various distributions has existed since 2011 and the people at Ubuntu
have done NOTHING to resolve it. Competing with Microsoft is only
supposed to be as far as productivity and usefulness. Ubuntu should not
be competing to see who can screw up the most. Fix your OS, or pull it
and resign. Stop trying to fix what works and fix what was broken by
idiot developers.

[Bug 875343] Re: Stuck at Saving installed packages... when using a custom /var

2015-05-30 Thread Alexander Lopez
So, from what I can deduce from this thread is that there is an issue
with the installer... The developers at Ubuntu are fully aware of it...
Yet they chose to do nothing to rectify it. Are they competing with
Microsoft to drop the ball now?

Re: [Bug 790272] Re: Site requires Active X controls to run properly.

2011-06-01 Thread Alexander Lopez
Sounds like it was a good thing that I set up my PC to dual boot
recently then. I will email them, in addition, with regards to your
suggestion about supporting the Linux and Mac Platforms.
 Thank you.

Running Windows + IE in VirtualBox using its seamless mode may be the
best way to do this. Regardless, writing a note to convergys.com
administrators about how they may consider supporting other platforms
than Windows only by avoiding platform-speciic technologies like
Active-X would also be in order.

[Bug 790272] [NEW] Site requires Active X controls to run properly.

2011-05-30 Thread Alexander Lopez
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox

Wine will not process a version of Internet Explorer AT ALL that has an
address bar, and the IEs4Linux program was found to be completely
worthless at it will not even complete installation of any version of
IE. Without the Active X control it does not seem to want to function,
even with the User Agent Switcher add-on.

2011-05-30 Thread Alexander Lopez
My apologies...the report website does not exist on Firefox 4, but in
any case, the site is Convergys.com. Their site /requires/ the use of
Active X apparently. I'm trying to find an alternative to dual-booting
first.

 Hi,

To get started with understanding this bug, you would need to specify
which site it is that absolutely requires ActiveX controls.

 Regardless:

 http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/ActiveX

Clearly states that Firefox does not and will not support ActiveX, so
there's nothing that will occur from a bug report on Firefox that would
make this happen. I think your best option would be to report a bug
against either Wine or IEs4Linux mentioning the problems you had with
 them.
