[Bug 855144] [NEW] Localizations are not shipped

2011-09-20 Thread Alexandre Prokoudine
Public bug reported:

GNOME Color Manager actively uses colord. For instance, names and,
partially, values of metadata fields that are visible in half of UI are
taken from colord. Currently you do not ship .mo files along with colord
packages, and that makes apps like Color Profile Viewer looking half-
translated whil in fact it's 100% translated. Pretty please fix that.

** Affects: colord (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 855144] Re: Localizations are not shipped

2011-09-20 Thread Alexandre Prokoudine
A correction: the issue is explained by a .ui file missing in
POTFILES.in from the upstream g-c-m package. Nevertheless, translation
file is still missing from colord package, so please don't relax :)

[Bug 855169] [NEW] shared-color-targets is missing, calibration doens't work

2011-09-20 Thread Alexandre Prokoudine
Public bug reported:

The shared-color-targets package isn't available in Ubuntu, so when
GNOME Color Manager attempts to install it to make profiling cameras and
scanners possible, the process simply fails.

Explanation: to profile a camera or a scanner you need a capture of a
reflective calibration target which is, essentially, a cardboard with
color patches printed on it. For each type of a target you need a text
file that describes this target so that calibration/profiling software
knows what and where to look for when reading the captured image. The
shared-color-targets is a collection of such files.

Solution: provide shared-color-targets package, available at
http://people.freedesktop.org/~hughsient/releases/. You don't have to
make it a hard dependency, but installing it should work.

[Bug 47807] Re: f-spot crashes in Xlib after a few moments of use

2008-01-18 Thread Alexandre Prokoudine
I don't think this bug report was forwarded to upstream.

Just in case, whenever you deal with Mono apps, use

$ mono --debug program.exe

e.g.

$ mono --debug /usr/lib/f-spot/f-spot.exe

My suggestion would be going to bugzilla.gnome.orgm checking if the bug
is not reported there yet and then, if it's not, posting it with
debugging info.

[Bug 125658] please update openexr version

Please update openexr version. Currently v1.2.2 is available, which is
2+ years behind. A more recent stable v1.4.0 is available and features
multithreaded file I/O, while being fully compatible with v1.2.2, if
that matters (if it doesn't, there is an even newer development

[Bug 49854] Errors in description

2006-06-15 Thread Alexandre Prokoudine
Public bug reported:

Description of the package says:

This is a standalone tool to import raw data from high-end digital
cameras.

This is wrong, because cameras like Canon Digital Rebel XT (350D) or
Nikon D70 are not hi-end, they are prosumer class digital still cameras.
Hi-end as a term overall is unlikely applicable to DSLRs.

ufraw has lots of preprocessing options which seem to duplicate gimp's
features. Unfortunately, they are necessary because its 8-bit limitation
would cause major quality problems.

This is wrong as well. There are only two settings that somehow
duplicate GIMP's functionality: saturation handle and curves. And,
again, UFRaw handles several types of TRC curves, whil GIMP supports
only its own curves. Most of other settings like white balance
correction, white balance presets, black point, exposure etc. are
unmatched in GIMP.
