[Bug 1969959] Re: Weird colors after startup (Ubuntu 22.04)

2022-04-23 Thread Allen Lowe
I'm having the same issue with an RTX 2080. If I start up in safe
graphics mode, it works. But of course then I get degraded graphics.

[Bug 780402] [NEW] when changing workspaces in Unity, desktop wallpaper window also slides

2011-05-10 Thread Allen Lowe
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: compiz

- Ubuntu 11.04
- Compiz 1:0.9.4+bzr20110415-0ubuntu2

I demoed this bug to didrocks, and he agreed it looks bad. Especially
since nautilus also draws the shadow for the panel, you get this ugly
little stripe sliding past. The problem arose because in compiz 0.9
because windows set to show on all desktops slide along with regular
windows by default, where in compiz 0.8 they remained stationary by
default. all you have to do is add title=x-nautilus-desktop to ccsm
Desktop Wall Viewport Switching Non Sliding Windows.

[Bug 692921] Re: Allow for the panel to be disabled (wishlist)

2010-12-23 Thread Allen Lowe
well, one of the reasons we are experimenting with wingpanel currently
is that global menu has two fairly large problems.

1. it enforces having a menu bar, elementary apps are designed without
menu bars, and instead use the app menu, when we use global menu, it
looks really funny if the app doesn't provide a menu-bar.

2. global menu has a very large usability problem on multi-monitor
setups. Sometimes my mouse has to travel a surprising and frustrating
distance from the app to reach it's menu.

[Bug 633292] Re: Lights Off game doesn't work correctly

I can confirm this bug on my maverick install, using proprietary Nvidia
drivers. The game starts up, but the actual game area is just all black.
I also get the error: TypeError Result of expression 'lights[x][y]'
