in the new Kubuntu 11.10, kdenlive fails to start because it depends on
the mlt-sdl module. This seems to be a packaging problem and needs to be
fixed.

[Bug 192413] Re: kde4 dual head - both desktops on single screen

Problem seems to be solved with kde 4.6 (I thin even 4.5) which added
the dual screen setup ability to its configuration dialogue. You can
even decide yourself which screen is the primary one...

[Bug 578215] Re: virtuoso-t eats my cpu, should be nice

2010-09-22 Thread AlmaTlust
I'm running Kubuntu 10.04 with the kde4.5 testing packages and virtuoso still
peaks high, even when indexing is disabled. It probably has to do with akonadi
being used (I'm trying out the akonadi resources like imap and stuff).
Anyway, I use cpulimit to prevent my cpu from overheating, so it doesn't
threaten my computer.

2010-09-17 Thread AlmaTlust
Dell Inspiron 1525, Kubuntu 10.04. Enabling/disabling works, touchpad
buttons work, but moving the cursor via the touchpad doesn't. Tried
kubuntu systemsettings, gsynaptics and gpointing-device-settings. The
first two didn't do anything, the latter at least could switch the
device on/of.

[Bug 495122] Re: missing KDE addressbook integration

2010-05-31 Thread AlmaTlust
Hi,
the problem still is there in Lucid as well When opening the assistant for
addressbook-sources, it only gives me other source, but when I click on it,
there is an error message and nothing goes on.
When clicking on data sources (F4), openoffice crashes.
Installing the openoffice-evolution - package brought a bit of progress, but
still no kde addressbook visible...
I then tried to access the akonadi mysql database through the mysql connector,
but that didn't work out either...
openoffice.org-kab is not in the repos (as would be suggested by
openoffice.oreg-kde)

[Bug 576811] Re: firefox is very slow in Ubuntu 10.10

2010-05-10 Thread AlmaTlust
I created a new profile, but then firefox crashed every time I tried to open up
all-in-one-sidebar, or edit the preferences. I then completely wiped firefox,
renamed the .mozilla directory to another name and reinstalled firefox without
any extensions. But it is still much slower than e.g. konqueror (Comparison: I
opened www.waze.com first in firefox and then in konqueror. By the time
konqueror had loaded the page, firefox still looked up the name).
So it doesn't seem to be connected to my personal settings. Any other idea?

[Bug 576811] Re: firefox is very slow in Ubuntu 10.10

2010-05-09 Thread AlmaTlust
It is page rendering which takes much longer than in other browsers and longer
than in 9.10.
I added a few plugins like flashblock, all-in-one-sidebar etc., but had the
same in 9.10 as well.
Is there a way to get a clean copy of firefox running, so I could look whether
it is the baggage from my old home folder? Or do you think that's not the
problem?

[Bug 414689] Re: photosmart 7760 freezes when starting a print job on ubuntu jaunty

2009-10-19 Thread AlmaTlust
I had the same problem with /var/logs/cups - setting cups to debug2 didn't
work, cups did not restart. in debug mode it wouldn't record any error. The
printer just freezes, by the way, it's every time now, I can't print from my
computer.
I tried plugging my printer into different usb plugs, but none work, - probably
because I only have usb 2.0 plugs. Lucas working usb plug might be an usb 1.1
plug? Could that be the reason?
