[Bug 1929020] [NEW] Missing dependency for qtcreator

2021-05-20 Thread Ameya Vikram Singh
Public bug reported:

While trying to use one of the features available in the QtCreator
application under the menu:

Analyze -> Chrome Trace Format Viewer.

It requires the following library/package as a dependency for it work.

qml-module-qtquick-controls2

It took sometime to figure out after running the qtcreator from command line
and trying to load a Chrome Trace Event file about the missing qtquick
controls2 library missing.

Please update the package dependency this feature to be enabled by
default as the error message is not visible in the qtcreator GUI.

** Tags added: trusty

** Description changed:

I have installed the jacksum utility for computing checksum hashes.

But the jacksum -h option is unable to work since it is not able to
  locate the file "help_en.txt"

I seem to remember it used to work on 12.04 and 15.04/10.

Kindly rebuild the package including the help_en.tx file which helps in
find info on using a certain parameter faster.

Earlier I could query the jacksum utility on using some command line
  argument.

  e.g.:
  $ jacksum -h -a md5

Which would tell me about on using the -a option explicitly about the md5
hashing algorithm.
