I have a laptop that was installed soon after 21.10 release with full disk encryption and ZFS, after several crazy issues, I've found this thread - this explains it.. 1:-What can I do to properly re-install the system? [Bug 1241386] [NEW] L2TP establishes connection (logged on firewall), then client gives up

According to FW (Fortigate), the connection is established and IP provided - no
problem is logged there.
The L2TP client fails, and closes connection 1 sec later.
The same configuration worked fine before 13.10.

hi all. try two things: chaneg MTU from auto to 1500 or 1000 Disable jumbo frames on your switch. Niticing that the problem happened when opening a video file, or with massive/fast file access, I changed MTU to 700, to see if it slowed things down and reduced the problem. it seems so, I was even able to scan music collection - slowly, but with no read errors. Increased MTU to 1500 - and I still do not see problems. Also: disabled jumbo frame support on my switch. Problem: The USB3.0 ports of VL800 work as expected. - no card is detected when inserted into the card-reader part. If the card reader part is connected to any other USB port in the computer, it works as expected ! after a few days - my compiz takes 72% cpu (of 400 , quadcore) - killing it makes windows move smmoth and fast again (wobbly windows) - then it's back to 214MB and slow within a few days.. So far, I've run only one such backup with grsync on 11.10 - without problem. - this could be random luck, or just no more bug. -the 11.10 is clean installed, with only some application settings imported (like .grsync settings) I will do more testing soon, it would be nice if the problem proved to be gone.
