[Bug 762693] Re: Enhanced zoom is laggy with Compiz 0.9.4

2011-05-20 Thread Andres J. Riofrio
That solves the problem.

Idk. I think the best solution for this would be to be able to lower the
mouse polling interval for specific plugins (such as Enhanced Zoom) in a
configurable fashion. To people familiar with Compiz: is mouse polling
used often by other plugins? Does lowering the interval really make a
difference in a battery drain? Is it possible to make the interval
dynamic?

[Bug 297042] [NEW] Cultivation package needs to use aoss.

2008-11-11 Thread Andres J. Riofrio
Public bug reported:

The cultivation package provided with Ubuntu Intrepid calls
`/usr/games/cultivation` directly, but this will disable the sound in a
default Ubuntu installation. A solution is to call `aoss
/usr/games/cultivation` instead. From here there are two options:

1) Changing /usr/share/applications/cultivation.desktop, line 8 to Exec=aoss
/usr/games/cultivation.
2) Create a wrapper for the binary that calls aoss. The wrapper would be
something like:

#!/usr/bin/env bash
aoss /usr/share/games/cultivation/cultivation

Where /usr/share/games/cultivation/cultivation is the actual binary.
(Don't know what the directory and naming conventions are for this kind
of thing.)

This is a great game. :-D

[Bug 213232] Re: youtube plugin in totem needs demuxer plugin

2008-11-02 Thread Andres J. Riofrio
This is not fixed in Intrepid, at least not in my experience.

When I double-click on a YouTube video in Totem, it does launch the
Search for suitable codec? dialog and tries to install the codecs. The
first option, ffmpeg plugin, is the one I chose. After downloading and
installing, which took barely a minute, Totem tried playing the YouTube
video, but after around 10 seconds of the clock pointer, it said, The
playback of this video requires a flash demuxer plugin, which is not
installed.

I tried closing and opening Totem, then I tried playing the same video.
It again opened the Search for suitable codec? dialog. This time only
the other option, GStreamer plugins for mms, wavpack, quicktime,
musepack; GStreamer plugins from the bad set was available. I selected
it and, after downloading and installing, it finally worked.

The ffmpeg plugin should be fixed or removed from the list. Unless
this just happened to me?

[Bug 253196] Re: Bugfix upstream release of Lyx (1.5.6)

2008-09-06 Thread Andres J. Riofrio
OK. So now I'm following the Sponsorship Process in the wiki. I am
requesting sponsorship. (Couldn't find another way to say it. :P)

Here is the .diff.gz file attached; the source can be found at
ftp://ftp.lyx.org/pub/lyx/stable/lyx-1.5.6.tar.gz.

The package is for intrepid; backporting shouldn't be a problem, as
demonstrated by my PPA.

[Bug 253196] Re: Bugfix upstream release of Lyx (1.5.6)

2008-09-05 Thread Andres J. Riofrio
I have created packages of lyx-1.5.6 for both Intrepid and Hardy on my
PPA, at http://launchpad.net/~andresjriofrio/+archive. The hardy one
is still building, so I haven't had the opportunity to test the program,
but I don't expect any problems.

In any case, I hope this helps the MOTU upgrade the official release.

[Bug 253196] Re: Bugfix upstream release of Lyx (1.5.6)

2008-09-05 Thread Andres J. Riofrio
Reporting about my packages at
http://launchpad.net/~andresjriofrio/+archive. At least the hardy one
(which would probably go into hardy-backports) works properly. Now all
that is left is for someone to `dch -i` it and upload it to the main
distribution. (I would do it, but I don't have the proper signature nor
permission, not being part of the MOTU team.)

Again, should I change the status?

[Bug 208556] [NEW] qdbuscpp2xml uses moc-qt3 instead of moc-qt4

2008-03-28 Thread Andres J. Riofrio
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: qt4-dev-tools

When I run qdbuscpp2xml on my application.h it does not work. In the
source package
(qt4-x11-4.3.2/tools/qdbus/tools/qdbuscpp2xml/qdbuscpp2xml.cpp) it
references the executable moc (on line 394) which by default (or at
least on my system, in which I haven't changed anything) is a symlink to
moc-qt3. And this causes the parser to not recognize public slots or
signals (although it does recognize public Q_SLOTS and Q_SIGNALS).

I use Ubuntu 7.10, And I have installed the kde4 package from the PPA.

[Bug 208556] Re: qdbuscpp2xml uses moc-qt3 instead of moc-qt4

2008-03-28 Thread Andres J. Riofrio
This can be fixed by replacing /moc with /moc-qt4 on line 394 of
qt4-x11-4.3.2/tools/qdbus/tools/qdbuscpp2xml/qdbuscpp2xml.cpp (or at
least that's how the Debian guys fixed it). I'm not sure how the dpatch
and/or patch system works, though, so I was not able to create a patch.

[Bug 208556] Re: qdbuscpp2xml uses moc-qt3 instead of moc-qt4

2008-03-28 Thread Andres J. Riofrio
Well in the end it was just my own ignorance... The patch was there but
I just did apt-src install qt4-x11 and saw that the file referenced
/moc instead of /moc-qt4, without knowing that the patches in
debian/patches/ weren't gonna be applied until build time... I feel
embarrased now. :D

And the reason it wasn't working for me is because I was using KUrl
instead of QString for a public slot I wanted to export to DBUS...

[Bug 117840] Re: Wishlist: Update python-soya package

2007-09-28 Thread Andres J. Riofrio
Are there some (new) news about this? I just installed python-soya in my
ubuntu feisty, and it doesn't work with python2.5 (although it works if
I do 'python2.4 someapp.py', which is a pain to do when developing with
an IDE).

Is there gonna be an updated package for Feisty?
