[Bug 1970939] [NEW] rickslab-gpu-utils/3.6.0-2 does not contain icons

2022-04-29 Thread Andrius Merkys
Public bug reported:

rickslab-gpu-utils/3.6.0-2 does not contain icons, thus its executables
(for example, 'gpu-ls') output 'Error: Invalid icon path' errors. I have
fixed the issue in Debian with this commit [1]. Please apply the cited
commit on rickslab-gpu-utils in jammy.

[Bug 1965145] Re: CMake definitions (.cmake files) are missing

2022-04-13 Thread Andrius Merkys
Peter A. Jonsson reported that aforementioned patch (in bug description)
is not enough to get the CMake definitions right. Thus one more patch is
needed: https://salsa.debian.org/debian/antlr4-cpp-
runtime/-/commit/c69aed95a4bc608a6a04d2850d353d1848b6b3ab.

[Bug 1966683] [NEW] Rebuild with libmbedtls12/2.16.4 on focal

2022-03-28 Thread Andrius Merkys
Public bug reported:

ncbi-blast+ remote executions throw ugly 'Critical' warnings on focal
amd64:

$ blastn -query test.fa -db nt -remote
Critical: [blastn] External MBEDTLS version mismatch: 2.16.2 headers vs. 2.16.3
runtime

[rest of the response trimmed]

where test.fa is any DNA FASTA file, for example:

>test
ACCCAT

The execution and output of the aforementioned call seems otherwise
normal despite the 'Critical' message.

From the buildlog on amd64 I see that ncbi-blast+ is built against
libmbedtls12/2.16.2 while it is run with libmbedtls12/2.16.4. I believe
rebuilding with libmbedtls12/2.16.4 would solve the issue.

[Bug 1965145] [NEW] CMake definitions (.cmake files) are missing

2022-03-16 Thread Andrius Merkys
Public bug reported:

libantlr4-runtime-dev does not provide CMake definitions (.cmake files),
although it could if antlr4-cpp-runtime was built with
ANTLR4_INSTALL=ON. I have turned this option on in Debian in 4.9+dfsg-2
and Ubuntu will probably soon pick it up for the future releases.
However, it would be very nice to have this feature backported to stable
releases.

[Bug 1954379] [NEW] Please do not ship liboqs in stable releases

2021-12-09 Thread Andrius Merkys
Public bug reported:

The authors of liboqs have explicitly asked to withhold distribution of
liboqs binary packages until the NIST Post-Quantum Cryptography
standardization project reaches its conclusion. Please block liboqs
binary packages from being shipped with stable Ubuntu releases.

I am the maintainer of liboqs in Debian, and there I have blocked the
source package from migrating to testing branch
(https://bugs.debian.org/1000303). It would be best to block liboqs
until the bug report in Debian is closed.

[Bug 1894094] [NEW] withhold the package until a stable release

2020-09-03 Thread Andrius Merkys
Public bug reported:

The upstream expressed their concern that packaging development version
of OpenMM (7.4.0.491.gac5a8f71+dfsg-1) may cause trouble with its users
[1]. Therefore it has been agreed to withhold the package until the next
stable release. The package has been removed from Debian testing branch
[2] to prevent it from being included in Debian release, the same should
be done with Ubuntu.

[Bug 1772746] Re: After upgrade to 18.04, all pip and pip3 commands fail

2018-10-18 Thread Andrius Merkys
There are movements on the Debian side to update to v18. The packaging
is complicated, I did what I could to push it, however I got stuck at
some point with debundling and turned to package maintainers for help.

[Bug 1772746] Re: After upgrade to 18.04, all pip and pip3 commands fail

2018-09-13 Thread Andrius Merkys
It seems that pip was updated using 'pip install -U pip', what made
user- and system-wide installations of pip out-of-sync. It should be
noted, however, that pip can only be updated using APT, as updating via
pip itself risks breaking the package. It might be wise to implement a
big warning upon issuing 'pip install -U pip'.

Will forward this to Debian.
