[Bug 585524] Re: Cant play Audio CD's in Lucid
Hello thanks for the reply. I installed Exaile and that can see and play the audio CD's fine! I just don't seem to be able to see it via any other application e.g. nautilus, brasero, rhythm box etc. Here is the ~/.xsession-errors log file from boot and running Exaile a...@andy-desktop:~$ sudo cat ~/.xsession-errors /etc/gdm/Xsession: Beginning session setup... [Bug 585524] [NEW] Cant play Audio CD's in Lucid
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: thunar Since upgrading to Lucid I cant access Audio CD's using my USB CD drive. it was fine under Karmic. DVD's and data discs are OK! My CD/DVD drives shows as a device icon when looking at my Computer however if I insert an audio disk it disappears and nothing else happens! I originally just upgraded to Lucid but have now done an install from scratch and still have the same problem. If I boot into Fedora on the same machine it opens and plays Audio CD's as you would expect. If I look at the disk utility it reports the drive as a Phillips CDRW/DVD CDD5263 Version UD91 Not a very urgent problem as all I do is rip my CD's to the hard drive but slightly annoying none the less. ** Affects: thunar (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Cant play Audio CD's in Lucid https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/585524 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 417757] Re: [karmic regression] all network apps / browsers suffer from multi-second delays by default due to IPv6 DNS lookups
I've now installed Linux Mint 8.0 and I have had no problems with browser speed or DNS lookups. -- [karmic regression] all network apps / browsers suffer from multi-second delays by default due to IPv6 DNS lookups https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/417757 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 417757] Re: [karmic regression] all network apps / browsers suffer from multi-second delays by default due to IPv6 DNS lookups
Do we actually know which routers are causing problems? I have a Netgear WGR614v6 patched with latest firmware V2.0.19_1.0.19 Does this problem only affect a few routers that do not support IPv6, if so which ones work? Which home routers support IPv6 at the moment? I seem to find it hard to find any. If I was to buy a new router (and it is about time) I would want it to be IPv6 enabled.
I have not used launchpad before and am not sure of the procedures. This bug has been nominated as a confirmed and high bug in the Network Manager but has not been confirmed or assigned an urgency under Linux (Ubuntu). This means it does not appear as a high urgency problem when you search the bugs for Karmic which I would have expected it to. Could it be that this problem is getting overlooked? -- [karmic regression] all network apps / browsers suffer from multi-second delays by default due to IPv6 DNS lookups https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/417757 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
