[Bug 1727662]
(In reply to Johan Thorén from comment #29) > I've now verified that the error still occurs with or without that command > issued, especially when coming back from suspend. hmm, i was expecting this command to improve the issue, if it would improve the issue, then we could think of a watermark issue. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1727662 Title: [Lenovo ThinkPad T450s] Issues after docking and locking To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/1727662/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Hi johan, I need few inputs. 1. Is this issue is seen when u connect a external display directly to laptop without dock ? 2. Have u screen the display tear issue on embedder panel of laptop. 3. As i see from dmesg logs your external display resolution is 1920x1080, have u observed the issue with other monitors or with other resolution modes. 4. could you please let me know if you see this issue after running below command echo "2 0 0 0 0 0 0 0" > /sys/kernel/debug/dri/0/i915_pri_wm_latency Thanks , Anshuman -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1727662 Title: [Lenovo ThinkPad T450s] Issues after docking and locking To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/1727662/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 974480] Re: Notification area whitelist is obsolete
Dear Mark, Since you are 'on' this thread...Please see this post from the perspective of some one who has been an unabashed fan of Ubuntu, Canonical and your personal investment into an open source OS with the aim of making it self sustaining ...all of which are noble goals and I fully appreciate the need to have it this way since it should survive beyond you and your personal finances...Having said that...(wait its not bashing time yet) I think you're not respecting the power of lethargy and status quo and learning the lesson from Windows XP as well as can be done...inspite of the best efforts of MS to move people away from XP (discounts on upgrades)...currently there are people paying top dollar for keeping their dependencies going and these people have dedicated IT departments...instead of upgrading closed source commercial applications which they own You are asking nay demanding that open source developers follow a cathedral line where Open source has always been about the Bazaarkeep the options open and let people find their own path...what comes out popular may not be the best technically but it will help your cause win...what is more important to be right or be right now? [Bug 251107] Re: [Intrepid] nvidia_drv.so: undefined symbol: AllocateScreenPrivateIndex
SOLUTION: Please note my problem above. I have found a solution and want to contribute back the solution to the community. the CC compiler error with nvidia was fixed by using: export CC=/usr/bin/gcc so that it uses the current gcc and the compile went fine. I am not sure if this is the right fix (maybe the problem is caused by the upgrade to Intrepid from Hardy)...anyways this fixes it. Hope this helps someone. -- [Intrepid] nvidia_drv.so: undefined symbol: AllocateScreenPrivateIndex https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/251107 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 251107] Re: [Intrepid] nvidia_drv.so: undefined symbol: AllocateScreenPrivateIndex
Hi all, I've tried everything tried here and looked around on launchpad and google as well. Here is the setup: - AMD Duron 700 MHz machine, GeForce2 MX400 card, worked fine with Compiz, nvidia binary driver in Hardy. - Upgraded to Intrepid from Hardy...all went fine (besides the warning about the degradation of driver)...nv driver worked fine. Now, after reading this thread, I've enabled the proposed repository per comment 51 and installed the nvidia 96 package (96.43.09) ...confirmed the version in synaptics. The error in the Xorg.0.log: (**) NVIDIA(0): Option NoLogo True (**) NVIDIA(0): Option AddARGBGLXVisuals True (**) NVIDIA(0): Enabling RENDER acceleration (II) NVIDIA(0): Support for GLX with the Damage and Composite X extensions is (II) NVIDIA(0): enabled.
